In John 1:1-4,14 the apostle, writing under the power of the Holy Spirit (2 Pet. 1:21), states that “Holy men of old spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” Then either the prophets themselves or their scribes (recorders) wrote what they had said. Later, during New Testament times, the apostles wrote what Jesus did and taught in a series of letters to individuals or to various churches. In their writings, all of which were done under the leadership and power of the Holy Spirit, they make clear a Truth that salvation seekers must know–THAT THE WORD HAD TO BECOME A HUMAN BEING IN ORDER TO FULFILL THE COMMISSION GOD HAD GIVEN HIM. The question is, why did a God, who was equal to the other God (Phil. 2:6) need to become a human being in order to save human beings? Let us delve deeply into this very important subject in order to answer the question. The answer has two parts, each of which we must understand in order to learn how to receive eternal life upon the return of Jesus to earth.
It has been my experience that most salvation seekers will accept answer number one while universally rejecting answer number two, just as Jesus prophesied would be the case in Matthew 7:13,14 and 22:14. Here we are told that many are called to hear God’s voice and choose to obey Him by embracing both answers. Sadly, few would answer His call. As extensive Bible study bears out, the reason evolves around answer number two. The Old Testament God (the Word–Logos–spokesman) Who created everything that was created (Jn. 1:14) initially dealt with his most important creation–man–on a personal, face-to-face level. His conversations with Adam, Eve, Cain, Abel, Abraham, Jacob, etc. make it clear that it was His desire and intent to deal with every human being on a one-to-one, face-to-face, Father-to-child basis exactly as parents and children have always communicated.
Man’s sins have prevented Him from having that kind of relationship after Adam, Eve and Cain’s sins. Note that even after Adam and Eve’s fall, He was dealing with them and their children on a face-to-face basis. Following Abel’s murder we find Him dealing with only selected individuals on a personal level. Sin, we are told in Isaiah 59:2, separates us from God which eliminates personal communication between God and man. It is for this reason that the vast majority of church prayers go unanswered. God said that if He heard one’s prayer He would answer the prayer. He does not hear the prayers of one who is separated from Him. The only exception is a prayer for forgiveness, and then only if the person stops sinning. Read Forgiveness: Carte Blanche or Selective. Key word–Carte.
Back to the question of why the Old Testament God had to come to earth as a man, live, suffer and die as a man in order for God to forgive man of his sins. “God is spirit” (Jn. 4:24). As a God, the Word was spirit like His counterpart–the one known as God. God decreed that the only way for man’s sins to be forgiven would be through the death of a man. SPIRITS CANNOT DIE. Satan (Lucifer) and his devils (fallen angels) will live in the Lake of Fire that will burn forever (Rev. 21:9). However, human beings who are cast into that fire with them will die. Malachi 4:3 tells us that they will burn to ash and be walked upon by God’s true saints. Read The Three Resurrections. Key word–Three. Pay special attention to the third resurrection.
One of the many false teachings put forth by the false church is that unsaved human beings (anyone not belonging to the ___________ church) will burn forever in hell. The Scriptures do not say this. Rather, they tell us that the fire will burn forever. Humans who will be cast into the fire will not burn forever. This type of information is what I call God’s “fine print.” One cannot know God’s will, way, Truth without knowing His “fine print.” My commission is to point out the many vitally important Scriptures that church people either do not know, or know but refuse to believe, or believe but refuse to obey.
In order to eliminate this this problem we are commanded to study the Bible according to God’s instructions found in Isaiah 28:9-13. Those whom God can “teach wisdom” will study, learn and follow His instructions. Those who reject His Word will stay in the church where they can have their ears scratched by their hirelings who teach them “smooth things, lies and deceits” (Isa. 30:10).
As noted, spirits are immortal. Human beings who rise to meet Jesus upon His return will be changed from physical to spiritual bodily composition (be born again) and will be saved from the second death which will be by fire. Their rebirth will take place as they ascend to meet the Lord in the clouds along with His mighty angels. Recall that it is appointed for man to die once, then will come the judgment (Heb. 9:27). Those deemed beyond help will die a second time in the Lake of Fire. This is known as the “second death.” The dead in Christ will ascend first, followed by those who are living upon Christ’s return (1 Thes. 4:16,17). These Very Elect, born again souls will “ever be with the Lord” in the earthly Kingdom of God. Read Born Again and The Kingdom of God. Key words–Born and Kingdom.
In that true Gods are spirit (Jn. 4:24), and in that the Word was spirit before becoming Jesus of Nazareth, and in that spirits cannot die, in order to die He (the Word) had to become a flesh and blood human being. To qualify as a human He had to be born of a woman. He had to be no different from other men. He got tired, sweated, hungered, thirsted, was tempted, tried and tested, etc. like any other man. Like any other man He had to LEARN the ways of God, choose them and obey them (Isa. 7:14-17). Read Jesus of Nazareth, God, Man or God-man? Key word–Nazareth. If He had not come to earth as a100% human He could not have been man’s Savior, which is the subject of the second reason for His humanhood. We will study reason #2 in the following posting. It is due to the rejection of the second reason for Christ’s humanhood that causes salvation seekers to refuse to obey Him in the conduct of their daily lives and to embrace the life offered by the god of the world–Satan (2 Cor. 4:4)–who blinds their eyes so that they cannot see the light of the glorious Gospel which would radiate out to the world around them. Sadly, church people reject that light and choose darkness, making them indistinguishable from the world. God’s true saints are “peculiar”–different from the world, and in most cases, from their own families (Titus 2:14/ 1 Pet. 2:9/ Mat. 10:36). The world and its church system reject God’s light/Gospel, which means that they despise both Father and Son. Read Luke 10:17. L.J.
