The Lord created the United States and Britain, which are peopled primarily by the descendants of Manasseh and Ephraim (sons of Joseph), and gave them the highest calling possible–to do what our ancient ancestors (the Israelites) failed to do. We were to be His light to the heathen (non Israelite) world by believing and obeying His Holy Bible–His love letter to mankind. The heathen world would see our light (obedience to His Word) and, after seeing how God blessed us for doing so, would embrace His Word, thereby embracing Him and His Son (Lk. 10:16). Those with eyes to see and ears to hear would believe and obey the Word as lived and ministered by God’s light bearers, thereby qualifying to inherit eternal life at Christ’s return. The heathen who came to His light (Word) were to be taught His Word and how to obey it. Simply put, the church–“the Israel of God” (Gal. 6:16)–was given the same commission as had His original church–the nation of Israel. America and Britain were to be His light to the world’s Gentiles (Heb.–heathen).

As any student of modern day history knows, Britain has mirrored the United States in her head-long dive into Satan’s spiritual abyss. However, series we will focus only on the United States of America.

Not long after the founding of “New Israel” in the New World her spiritual leaders began to bow to the dictates of Satan’s false prophets who had begun to rise to leadership positions within God’s church. They did this quite rapidly by showing the people a “better way” than that commissioned by the Lord in His Holy Bible. God’s “My way only” way involved serving Him. The false prophets’ “improved way” involved doing whatever was self-serving. What made their ruse so effective was that they came in the name of the Biblical God and claiming to be sent by Him. Jesus warned about these Satan-sent emissaries when He warned us to let no man deceive us, that many would come in His name, would acknowledge that He (Jesus) was the Christ, and having convinced the people that they were “ministers of righteousness,” would deceive many while operating under the power and direction of the “angel of light” (2 Cor. 11:15/ Mat. 24:4,5). In Revelation 12:9 Jesus, looking forward to these end times, prophesied that by the time He returned to earth Satan would have “… deceived the whole world,” including the church. Over the past 200 years Satan has lured millions of God seekers away from the Biblical God and into his religious system. His world-wide Catholic/Protestant system has become the self-professed Christian world’s Golden Calf which gives its parishioners what they want (self-governance) and takes them to remain where they are (in Egypt–sin). How did this happen? Let us go to the Word of God for the answer.

As we will see, the nation’s current spiritual, political, social and economic demise has historical precedent. And as God’s Word tells us, her downward slide has only just begun. What is about to hit our once-blessed nation has no historical precedent. Our once-wonderful nation has been sowing the devil’s wind for many years. The Lord’s whirlwind headed in her direction will be like nothing she has ever before experienced (Mat. 24:21,22). L.J.
