For generations people who believe what is written in the Book of Acts have voiced the desire for the church to return to the type of ministry the Lord’s apostles demonstrated during the first 60 years of church history. Others, though they believe what is written in the book called The Acts of the Apostles, do not believe that the miracles, signs and wonders performed by Jesus and His apostles are for this day and age. The vast majority of church people believe that God has given us medicine and surgery techniques along with medical discoveries and inventions because He no longer performs miracles, signs and wonders as He did through the original disciples/apostles. They also believe that situations such as droughts, floods, tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanoes, etc. are random “acts of nature” that have nothing to do with the character of human beings relative to what they do, say and think. That was not the case in the past.
There was a time when people knew what caused such calamities, Who was behind them and why they occurred. I can remember when insurance companies would not insure personal property such as homes and businesses against what they classified as “acts of God.” That was before the apostasy of the church became a full-fledged movement. Read about the movement that is now in full throttle mode using the key word–Apostasy. Sadly, the church’s “falling away” from the Lord, though obviously disastrous and total in its abandonment of God’s written Word, is actually in its embryonic stage. Her total demise will end with the Great Tribulation which will be followed by the Day of the Lord. Read about this soon-coming 3 1/2-year time of terror, destruction and death using the key word–Tribulation. Also read about the place of safety to which the Lord will take His true saints prior to the beginning of the Tribulation Period using the key word–Safety.
Because the total apostasy of the church and the Tribulation Period will, I believe, engulf the entire earth within six to eight years, I want to interject some information I have written about before concerning what I BELIEVE the Lord will bring to pass between now and the end of the world as we know it.
Based upon the obey-and-be-blessed/ disobey-and-be-cursed pattern the Lord used in dealing with the ancient Israelites, I BELIEVE He is going to give their descendants–the United States of America, England and the state of Israel–one last chance to return to the spiritual status they enjoyed during her early years of existence. Because she is the international leader in religious activities, I will focus on America in this series. Having been created as His “city on a hill,” America led the world in the distribution of Bibles and the spread of the Lord’s Gospel as He blessed and prospered her during her early and formative years. Following the 1800’s when she led the world into the Industrial Revolution and was instrumental in winning World War II due to her military muscle, the Lord’s modern day “light to the world” forgot from whence came her success and might–the God who created her out of a wilderness into which He had placed some of His Israelite people and raised them up to be the most powerful, most successful nation the world had ever seen.
However, just as her ancestors had done, America came to believe that she had accomplished her success by her own power and efforts and no longer needed to obey God’s Law by which He governs His true saints. Basking in her own self-worth, America began to turn away from the Lord with the Catholic/Protestant Religious System at the helm of the ship of state. As I have pointed out before, “as goes the church, so goes the nation.” Together the church, followed by the nation, gradually abandoned the heavenly Creator of the universe and looked to her own devices in order to get things done. This mindset included both social and spiritual things.
The apostasy (falling away from God) has been picking up speed and spreading its tenacles ever since. Of late, the church/state apostasy has continually reach new levels of separation from the Lord. Like a ball rolling down a hill, she is picking up speed and power as she nears the bottom. If the church founders could see what the church founded in 31 A.D. has become and is becoming, they would, as the saying goes, “turn over in their graves.” Read Who and Where is Israel Today? Key word–Where.
As I opined earlier, I believe that the Lord is going to give America one last chance to get her spiritual, social, economic and political life back on track. I believe she will, but only partially and only temporarily as man cannot resist Satan’s lure for long. Sinning is too much fun and causes too much trouble to totally abandon. Religious man has been taught for far too many generations that Jesus died so that he could sin and get away with it. Churchman can tolerate righteousness just so long before he answers Satan’s call to return to him, especially since his leaders tell him that all is well–THE FIX IS IN. As a church woman said to my mother: “Don’t worry about sin; God will forgive you. He won’t like it, but He won’t do anything about it.” She was one of three people the Lord told me He would kill because they rejected His Word that I delivered to them. He killed each of them within two months of Him telling me what He was going to do in each case. Two of the cases dealt with the person’s (both female) rejection of His weekly 7th day (Saturday) Sabbath. The other case dealt with drug addiction (alcohol).
I BELIEVE that Donald Trump will win the November election and will lead the nation back to the political, economic, military and social status she enjoyed during his first term. I also BELIEVE that we will see a season of religious revival that will glow brightly for a short time before the nation returns to following Satan who will lead the people back to “the church” which was instrumental in the nation’s downfall. Read about the coming revivals using the key word–Revival. Also read why I BELIEVE there will be a temporary global return to the Book of Acts led by the United States. Use the key word–Gun.
In the following posting we will trace the miraculous ministry of the original apostles as they were sent out by Jesus of Nazareth with orders to do what they had seen Him do and taught them to do. What we must realize is that, though preaching about the Kingdom of God is first and foremost in God’s will for the true church today, the working of miracles, signs and wonders is of equal importance. The Lord never intended for His ministry to mankind to consist of words only, even though those Words are divinely inspired and, if believed and obeyed until life’s end, will lead to eternal life in paradise (Mat. 10:22).
The Lord still uses miracles as proof of what His ministers are saying. Miracles such as healing, casting out of devils (demons), words of knowledge, prophecy, etc. are supposed to be taking place today in the conduct of normal ministry. But such is not the case. However, such activities will return to their former status under the direction of God’s true ministers. For the first time in 2000 years, the power of almighty God will be on display before the world’s masses.
But as was the case in days of old, the masses will not accept the works of God being performed in their midst. We who will be so used of God will be rejected as was Jesus and His apostles. Why? Because “That’s not the way I was always taught.” Recall that Stephen–the first martyr–was stoned to death for that very reason. Read Acts 6:5-8:2.
Today, those who believe in modern day miracles rarely, if ever see them materialize. There is a reason for this–a reason the church refuses to recognize. The New Testament explains why there is a lack of miracles within professing Christianity today. Though the reason is presented with a clarity a child can understand, adults refuse to believe what is in the Bible they carry to church. The Lord is going to show the world that it is man himself who determines what God does and does not do in the lives of church people. In that sense, we are the captains of our own spiritual ships.
Through the world wide web the works of the Lord’s apostles will be demonstrated globally, often in real time. The world, including the church world, will react to the future miracle-filled ministries of a few faithful men the same way the world reacted originally–rejection. Recall that it was the religious hierarchy who caused Jesus and His apostles to be martyred. Never, never, never underestimate the power Satan has over religious mankind. The future will expose that power like never before. Let us prepare for the future by drawing ourselves unto the Lord by learning about His Word. L.J.
