Man’s penchant for self-destruction began with Adam and Eve and has remained a Satan-induced condition ever since. Notice that I said “induced,” not forced. As the series titled Human Nature proved, sin is a choice. Contrary to popular theology, sin is not an inherited trait as we have been told time and again by Satan–the self-proclaimed “angel of light”–through his false prophets–“ministers of righteousness” (2 Cor. 11:14,15). Self-destruction is the result of sinning against God. Sin produces a reaction (curse) from Him. Detailed explanations of this “cause and effect” law are provided in Deuteronomy 28 and Leviticus 26.
The entire Bible was written to and about God’s people–the 12 tribes of Israel–as well as those Gentiles who become part of the Commonwealth of Israel through conversion, belief in and obedience to God’s Word. See White Fields and The Mission Field. Having grown up in church, most of us know about the promises of God to be awarded for obedience toward Him, therefore we will not study them at this time. What we have not and will not hear about in church concerns the consequences of Biblically defined sin, which is the transgression (breaking) of God’s Law (1 Jn. 3:4). This ministry is dedicated to alerting church people to God’s definition of sin, which the church rejects in favor of her own definition. The church has never heard His Word on the subject and therefore has never acknowledged, repented of and been forgiven of her sins. She lives in darkness and will continue to live there because she rejects any intrusion of God’s light (Word), which she calls darkness. This is only one example of Satan’s control over the Institutional Church. See the Introduction to this website for more examples.
Though she does not recognize it for what it is, God’s curse remains upon the church continuously. In some cases His curses arrive immediately following the commission of a sin. Others are poured out upon the sinner after much time has passed. His curses can be severe or mild. They can affect the body, the mind, the weather, one’s pocketbook, one’s security, etc. The Lord’s cause and effect law is fully and plainly explained in His Word. However, the church rejects His Word. Therefore religious man never understands the cause of the various conditions that afflict him. God speaks to this Truth in 2 Timothy 3:7 where we are reminded that religious man is “ever learning but never coming to the knowledge of the Truth.” I can honestly say that I have never suffered a negative situation or condition (effect) that was not brought on by a sin (cause). GOD’S CAUSE AND EFFECT LAW HAS WORKED PERFECTLY IN MY LIFE. I am eternally grateful that He opened my eyes to this Truth.
God does not respect individuals (Acts 10:14). What He will do to or for one He will do to or for another. This is the covenant He has made with those who seek Him. His Holy Bible is that covenant which was signed in the blood of His Son. Man’s approach to that covenant determines his relationship with the covenant Maker and His Messiah. In the vast majority of cases religious man does not believe this Biblical fact because some “sinners saved by grace” seemed to live charmed lives while some of the most religious within the church are besieged with problems. For an explanation of why this happens see Would God Do That? As was pointed out in that series, some people pay for their sins immediately while others seemingly get away with theirs. This Truth is brought out in the Scriptures. For example, compare the cause and effect law at work in the lives of King David and King Solomon. Regardless of the time element involved, all sins bring about retribution from on high. Though the curse might be long in coming, be sure, as someone said, “There is a payday someday.” It might be today, it might be later. But rest assured: IT WILL BE. L.J.
