Beginning in Genesis chapter one verse one we find God (the Word Who came to earth as Jesus of Nazareth–Jn. 1:1-4,14) re-creating the surface of the earth, which, at that time was covered by water due to a universe-wide war that had taken place earlier. Beginning with “the beginning” referred to in this passage, He created a number of things in the following order: light, day, night, heaven, earth, seas, grass, trees, celestial lights, fish, birds, cattle, creeping things and man. Reflecting upon all that He had created, the Lord declared everything VERY GOOD. Everything He had created was exactly as He wanted it to be. Being perfect, He made everything perfect. HIS CREATION PROCESS WAS FINISHED AND WAS EXACTLY AS HE WANTED IT TO BE. NOTHING NEEDED TO BE CHANGED, NOT THEN, NOT EVER. WHAT THE LORD CALLED “GOOD” WAS NOT TO BE ALTERED IN ANY WAY. This rule would apply to everything that existed and for all time. Keep that in mind as we make our way through history up to the present age.

Having made all that He had made during the preceding six days, the Lord rested on the seventh day. Not only did He rest (refreshed Himself–Exo. 31:17) on that day, He also BLESSED THAT SPECIFIC DAY (BESTOWED HIS BLESSING UPON IT). HE ALSO SANCTIFIED IT, MEANING THAT HE SET IT ASIDE, MAKING IT TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHER SIX DAYS. In chapter two verse three the Holy Creator explained exactly WHY HE BLESSED AND SANCTIFIED THAT ONE AND ONLY DAY OF THE WEEK–“BECAUSE ON THAT DAY HE RESTED FROM ALL THE WORK HE HAD DONE.” That day was a day of personal satisfaction for Him. It was the day of completion. It was His rest (Heb.–Sabbath) day. The seventh day was special to Him as He would later declare through His Prophet Isaiah, saying: “THE SABBETH IS MY HOLY DAY … THE HOLY (DAY) OF THE LORD” (58:3).

Notice that He did not say that the seventh day of the week was A holy day. Rather, He said that IT, AND IT ALONE, WAS THE (ONE AND ONLY) DAY OF THE WEEK THAT HE DECLARED HOLY. In verses 13 and 14 the Lord goes into detail about how His people were to HONOR THAT SPECIFIC DAY OF THE WEEK, AND THEREBY HONOR HIM THROUGH THE ULTIMATE EXPRESSION OF HONOR–OBEDIENCE. I suggest that you stop at this point and carefully read what the Lord of the Sabbath (Jesus Christ–Mat. 12:8) said. Notice that Jesus said that HE IS (THEN AND NOW) THE LORD OF EVERYTHING, “… EVEN OF THE SABBATH.” Jesus Christ created everything that was created. Nothing was created that He did not create, which includes the seventh day Sabbath, which He declared to be HIS HOLY DAY, THE HOLY OF THE LORD. Read The God of the Old Testament. key word–Old.

Notice that since the week of creation, everything He created has remained the same entity that He created–the heavenly bodies are still the heavenly bodies; the earth is still the earth. Notice that days, nights, earth, heaven, heavenly bodies, ground, seas, birds, fish animals, reptiles, grass, trees, etc. are still what He created them to be. Nowhere in His Holy Bible are we told that anything He created during creation week would one day be done away with and replaced by something else. Right? Not according to those who call themselves His people. Not only has one of His creations been destroyed by them, they have replaced it using their own “improved” creation. Not only that, but the creation they have rejected and replaced is the ONLY THING HE CALLED HOLY, BLESSED, SANCTIFIED AND HIS VERY OWN relative to creation week. Recall that He did not do that for any other entity created during that time. All are still as they were created. Except one–HIS PERSONAL HOLY DAY OF REST-–HIS SABBATH.

Throughout the following centuries His Holy Sabbath remained as He created it–the seventh day of the week. Desiring that man be as much like Himself as possible, HE GAVE HIS HOLY DAY TO HIS MOST PRIZED CREATION–MAN–TO BE HIS (MAN’S) HOLY DAY. When He gave the descendants of Abraham the opportunity to be His people and for Him to be their God, He included HIS SPECIAL WEEK-DAY FOR THEM TO USE AS THEIR SABBATH (REST) DAY. In so doing they could become one with Him by doing exactly what He did on the original Sabbath Day–rest from their normal daily activities. It is agreed among mankind that emulation (copying) is the highest expression of respect. Joining the Creator on the day He set aside is a wonderful way to express one’s love and respect for Him.

When the Lord gave the Israelites (and later the Gentiles) the opportunity to become His people, He told them that in order to be His special brethren they needed only to OBEY HIS LAW, which He condensed into the Ten Commandments, wrote them on stone plates and placed them in an ark guarded by two powerful angels. Included within the commandments was His Sabbath Commandment. When He voiced His ten Laws to the people, they replied in unison that they would obey them. This is what we do when we take Him as our Lord for the remainder of our lives. We do so with faith that, in so doing, He will cause us to rise to meet Him in the sky upon His return to earth to establish His Father’s kingdom where we will live with Him forever. Having written at length on the subject of the Lord’s Sabbath (key word–Sabbath) on this website, I will end this teaching with this bit of information that I hope you will think about when God’s, and man’s weekly Sabbath arrives every seventh day. For the past 6000 years the Lord has honored His Holy Sabbath, just as He did while on the earth as a man. When He created the New Covenant Church in 31 A.D. He instituted His Law, including the fourth commandment, as the instrument by which He would RULE HIS PEOPLE. For the following 333 years the church observed His Holy Sabbath. Then man set Him aside, removed His Lordship over him, removed His Holy Sabbath and installed one more to his (man’s liking.

Isn’t it strange that for all those thousands of years Jesus did not see fit to change His Holy Sabbath Day. Nor did He make it possible for man to do so. However, in 364 A.D. at a meeting in the city of Laodicea, one man took it upon himself to declare the Lord’s Holy Day no longer holy and to establish his own holy day. That man was Pope Sylvester I. Since that time his decree has been religiously honored every Sunday within so-called Christianity. With few exceptions the church masses continue to bow to the dictates of that corrupt religious system until this day. The world views professing Christendom as a two-part religion–Catholic and Protestant. I reject that separation. Protestants are in reality closet Catholics. For this reason I call “the church” The Catholic/Protestant Religious System. Like my Lord and Master, I have nothing to do with that Satan-empowered, Satan-led abomination. If you will obey God’s command found in Second Corinthians 6:14-7:1 you can join me in the worship of and obedience to the true Head of the true church.
