A recent headline declared that people are “shocked” by the things that are going on in the United States. Mass killings, weather catastrophes, health problems, political problems,  etc. Nothing is as God said it should be. The man on the street is, as the headline proclaimed, “shocked” by what is happening to us. But not everyone is surprised. God’s people are not shocked. They know that the death, destruction and devastation taking place on an ever-increasing, ever-intensifying level was prophesied several times by the writers of the Holy Scriptures. Knowing what the Almighty had warned about in His Word, His true saints are thankful that He took so long to unleash His wrath on this once blessed, God-rejecting nation whose individual and national sins cry out for retribution. In His mercy He has blessed, then warned, then punished the American people time and again in an attempt to get our attention. In the Scriptures He warned repeatedly that He would remove His blessings and replace them with curses if people did not obey His Law/commandments (the Bible from Genesis to Revelation). His exact Words were: “I will curse your blessings” (Mal. 2:2). He said in Romans 2:6,11 that, because He makes no difference between people, He will judge EVERY human being according to his DEEDS–actions, words, thoughts, etc. relative to His Word (Jn. 12:48). What one sows, one reaps. What the nation sows, the nation reaps.

For many years the United States and her people have been sowing the wind–rejecting God’s Word in favor of church doctrine. His patience has ended. He is now sending the whirlwind. An hypocritical, idolatrous nation is watching her many blessings being obliterated by an individual and national curse which will culminate in military defeat, slaughter and enslavement of the few who survive. If He does not do those things to the United States He is a liar. GOD DOES NOT LIE. What He says, He does. See Would God Do That? What did He say He would do? See Deuteronomy 28, Leviticus 26 and Matthew 24 for the answer.

Let us not forget how the Words we find in those passages (and the entire Bible) came into being: God spoke them to the Word. The Word spoke them to His prophets and apostles who repeated them to the people, then recorded them for the end-time church (1 Cor. 10:11). The New Covenant Church is founded on the teachings of those prophets and apostles (Eph. 2:20). What they spoke and wrote must be believed and obeyed. As Jesus said in Matthew 4:4, in order to live with God eternally, man must live in the present by every Word that came from His mouth–the Bible.

In this posting I will focus on only one of the Lord’s prophesied curses brought on by sin–sickness/disease. In Matthew 24:7 Jesus warns that “pestilence” would be one of the curses that God would send on sinning individuals and nations during the last days of the era. One need only read about the Black Plague, the Flu Epidemic and other such deadly medical catastrophes to see God’s hand at work. HE WAS WARNING THE WORLD TO TURN TO HIM–OR ELSE. The world, including the church world, chose ELSE. God is no longer warning, calling, pleading for man to repent, turn from his wicked ways and embrace Him. His patience has come to an end. He is bringing to pass what He warned about for so many years. Sickness is epidemic in the United States. The medical profession is inundated with patients. From the nation’s back streets to her stately mansions, people are sick and becoming sicker as new and old diseases, some of which we thought we had conquered, are threatening to wipe out large segments of the population.

Relative to this problem, noted physician Dr. Drew Pinsky recently said in an interview that the United States is being invaded by diseases that have not been seen since medieval times. For example, He reports that tuberculosis is exploding nationwide, especial in the cities where over half of the U. S. population now lives. Also on a rapid rise are rat-born diseases like plague and typhus. Recently there has been a rash of typhoid fever outbreaks, especially where the homeless congregate. Western coastal cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco have become havens for the down and out. Illegal immigrants, many coming from Third World countries, gravitate to those areas. As a result, diseases we wiped out decades ago are making a comeback and are beginning to wreak havoc on the American population because the new strands have evolved and are immune to our medications. Notice how many t.v., newspaper and magazine ads feature cures and treatments for disease. Dr. Pinsky predicts that the situation will get worse. As the Lord Jesus said concerning the curses God is now pouring out on sinning America, “All these are the beginning of sorrows” (Mat. 24:8). All so-called “Christian nations” will feel the brunt of His wrath. But the U.S. will be punished most severely because of our hypocrisy–we claim to be what we are not–Christian. In reality we are the global leader in national sin and degradation.

According to the World Health Organization, what is taking place in the United States was formerly found only in Third World countries. Due to the influx of people coming here from such areas of the world, the medical profession cannot predict with certainty what diseases are on the way and the extent of the damage they will cause the American public. But those who deal with such things are in agreement that the situation will get worse.

Jesus Christ warned in Matthew 24:7 that at the end of the age man’s sins would cause His Father to pour out His wrath on all sinners, including so-called “sinners saved by grace.” One of the curses would be “pestilence,” meaning disease and sickness. In Tyler, Texas, adjacent to two huge hospitals, exists an entire neighborhood that houses nothing but medical facilities, doctor’s offices, etc. I call it Sick City. America is sick. What the Lord said about Israel He is saying about my beloved country: “The whole head (heart) is sick” (Isa. 1:5). America has a deadly heart condition. Nationally, it’s over. God has promised that He would send the Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord upon the earth just before His Son returns to clean up the mess man has made. The time to get right with Him is now. When He takes His saints to their place of safety just before the Tribulation it will be too late. Few, He said in Matthew 7:13,14, will be taken there. The other 99.99% of living humanity will suffer through the 3 1/2 years of terror He warns us about in the Book of Revelation. Some, He tells us, will turn to Him during that time. Dear reader, if you have not already done so, come out of the world and the worldly (Satan’s) church system–Catholicism/Protestantism. Enslave yourself to the Lord and allow Him to convert you, lead you and protect you from the world-wide horror that is now on the horizon. God is speaking. Is anyone hearing His voice? L.J.
