In this day of COVID-19 we hear the term “herd immunity” spoken often by the media and the doctors who opine on the evening news.  “Herd immunity” refers to the fact that when a person becomes infected with a disease or virus he/she will afterwards be immune to that disease or virus because the body builds up a resistance to it.  When a group, for example a nation, has been exposed to a disease or virus the people tend to build up a group (“herd”) immunity to it.  Of course, not everyone reacts the same and some, usually a small minority, are not rendered immune and subsequently become infected while the “herd” remains immune.  Herd (group) immunity normally works on the national level, and would work on the global level if all people were exposed to the same illness.  We have been assured that such could be the case with COVID-19.  Only time will tell.  Question: is medical science the only area in which herd immunity works?  Answer: no.

A perfect example of herd immunity working not only on a national level, but on a global level is that of professing Christianity.  In the medical arena herd immunity works some of the time we are told and is viewed as a positive reaction to a negative situation.  In the spiritual arena it works 99.99% of the time and is viewed as a negative reaction to a positive situation.  What is “spiritual herd immunity?” (my term).  To answer the question we will return to the Garden of Eden where positive and negative, righteous and evil relative to human beings began.  It is also where the first case of human herd immunity took effect.  Let us return now to the beginning of the world as we know it, a place in Eden where God has created paradise on earth.

God has filled His paradise with everything the first man and woman would need in order to live the good life.  He then gave them His Law that they must obey in order to continue their idyllic lifestyle.  Then appeared the Serpent (Satan) who exposed Eve to a “sin germ” which he put forth in the form of a statement.  He told her that God had lied to her and Adam about the effect of sin (disobedience to His Law).  He assured her that they could sin and “… not surely die.”  Because of her belief in and obedience to God’s Word/Law, Eve initially had immunity to the effect of the germ.  She needed only to stay the course in order to render the Serpent’s spiritual word germ attack powerless.  This would have been a positive reaction to a negative situation. But as we all know, she listened to the Serpent’s word germ, embraced it and became infected.  Meanwhile, Adam still had immunity to the word germ–he still believed and obeyed God’s Law.  He retained his immunity until Eve convinced him to accept the Serpent’s “truth” germ and to eat of the forbidden tree.  During this sequence THEY BECAME IMMUNE TO GOD’S TRUTH.  Their negative reaction (obedience to Satan leading to death) to a positive situation (obedience to God leading to eternal life) brought about the first human herd (Adam and Eve) immunity.  By embracing the Serpent’s words they became immune to the Words/Law of God.

Fast forward to the days of Noah.  Noah was “a preacher of righteousness” (2 Pet. 2:5).  In order for a man to be a preacher, there has to be people to hear him.  We learn about these people in Genesis 5:5: “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”  These people had developed herd immunity to Noah’s words of righteousness, just as their ancestors–Adam and Eve–had before them.  Obviously, Satan had infected their minds (hearts) and had immunized them against Noah’s Words of righteousness.  In the case of Adam and Eve, their immunity brought about instant spiritual death.  Their physical death would not take place for some 900 years (Gen. 5:5).  We can assume that Eve lived approximately the same number of years as Adam.  In the case of the people of Noah’s day their spiritual death was also immediate.  But unlike Adam and Eve, their physical deaths came not long afterwards: “And the Lord said, ‘I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth … for I am sorry that I have made man.'”  The entirety of mankind had developed herd immunity to Noah’s (God’s) Words of righteousness.  As a result God killed every human being on the earth except Noah and his family.  From them came all who have been born since.

And, with the exception of a tiny obedient remnant of true believers, the whole of mankind has chosen the devil’s “truth” over God’s Truth, thereby developing herd immunity against the Word and Way of God.  Only a tiny remnant have withstood Satan’s sin pandemic and have remained true to the Scriptures.  The Apostle Paul knew of such a remnant in his day (Rom. 11:5).  Today the remnant number a few thousand who are scattered throughout the world.  God has always had a remnant whom He calls His “saints” (“holy ones”).  It is they who will rise to meet His Son in the air at the first resurrection, descend with Him to the Mt. of Olives, enter Jerusalem and with Him establish the Kingdom of God.  Read The Resurrections and The Kingdom of God.  Key words–Resurrections and Kingdom respectively.  Reminder, do not use quotation marks (“–“) when searching the site.  For first time visitors, read the segment under the heading NOTICE on the Introduction page to this website.

So powerful is the devil that today the entire world has herd immunity which protects them from being affected by God’s Truth and becoming converted which would place them on the path to salvation/rebirth at the return of Jesus Christ to earth.  A perfect example of herd immunity was the Jews’ reaction to Stephen’s Words of Truth.  They stopped up their ears, gnashed their teeth at him, screamed to drown out his voice before stoning him to death (Acts 6,7).  The irony of that situation was that Stephen was telling them what was plainly stated in their own Scriptures.

For some 1900 years spiritual herd immunity has infected all but a few within professing Christianity.  Those few, to a lesser degree, receive the same treatment as their ancient counterparts.  Recall that the prophets were persecuted and some were martyred because of herd immunity.  Jesus and His Apostles were put to death because Satan had immunized them from the Truth of God–His Word (Jn. 17:17).  John was kept alive so that he could codify the New Testament.  Today God’s ministers face the same treatment.  The only difference is the severity of punishment for putting forth God’s Word.  That will change.  Revelation tells us that during the Great Tribulation many people will be martyred for coming to the Lord in the midst of the madness of a world dictatorship–a global government called “the Beast.”  That Beast will be directed (ridden–17:1-6) by the Great Whore–Mystery, Babylon–which will be a one-world religion comprised of the combined religions of the world, including Catholicism (the whore) and Protestantism (her harlot daughters).  Those who realize the Truth and embrace it during the Tribulation will be killed.  Read Revelation, the Fifth Seal and Martyrdom of the Saints.  Key word–Martyrdom.  Also read The Mark of the Beast.  Key word–Mark.

The Lord warns that there will come a time when “men will run to and fro searching for His Word and will not find it.”  Soon all references to the Biblical God will be prohibited by law.  People like me will not be allowed to teach and preach the Truth.  For this reason I post a teaching as often as possible.  Today those with herd immunity number approximately 2 1/2 billion unwitting souls who have been deceived by the Counterfeit Church’s false prophets.  I must work as hard as Satan while it is day, “for night come when no man can work.”
