When I heard the famous tv personality who, I contend, is the best political commentator on the air today, talk about “the church” coming together I immediately thought about the one-world church the Lord warns us about in the Book of Revelation. Unbeknownst to the commentator–who should stick to politics–what he was describing has been forming for quite some time. However, the positive picture he was verbalizing will not materialize. Instead, a terror the world cannot visualize will suddenly seem to come out of nowhere and will encompass the earth–a world church that will absorb everyone. Everyone, that is, except the Lord’s “little flock”–His “remnant” who will refuse to join Satan’s Megachurch. These are the few (Mat. 7:13,14) for whom the Lord has prepared a place of safety where they will wait out the “great and terrible Day of the Lord”–the final year of the Great Tribulation when God will pour out His wrath on rebellious mankind, especially the rebellious church. Why will He come down so hard on the church? Because she is what is referred to in governmental and military circles as a “mole.” The Institutional Church is God’s most insidious enemy because she poses as His church, thereby luring in billions of well-meaning but Biblicly ignorant God-seekers with her “Choose what you like; it’s all good” siren call heard throughout the world every Satan’s sabbath. Along with everyone else alive on earth, God’s people will endure the first two years of the Great Tribulation–the time when Satan will pour out his wrath on mankind, especially God’s church which will be persecuted so as to make the Inquisition pale in comparison. She will survive only because she will be miraculously protected by her Lord. This is not to say that some of His people will not be martyred. As was the case in the early church, some true saints will pay with their lives for their stand. Of those who remain alive during this terrible period, only those of His remnant who endure to the end of that horrific period with their righteousness intact will be taken to “her place” and will receive salvation at His return a year later (Mat. 10:22).
Another catch phrase voiced by the tv personality/Bible teacher was “right of conscience”–the belief that each individual has the right to believe what he/she wants to believe and to express it in word and deed. Sounds good, even righteous. But it all depends upon what one’s conscience is based. See The Conscience. If one’s conscience (one’s concept of what is right and wrong) is based on “… every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God” (Mat. 4:4), then one is in good spiritual standing with Him, providing he/she thinks, speaks and acts according to his/her Truth-based conscience. In the Matthew 4 passage Jesus tells us that if one expects to live eternally with Him, one must live this life according to God’s expressed Word as He expressed it. If this is the case with the person, then all is well and good.
But as has been shown time and again by this website, this is not the case with the Institutional Church. People involved in professing Christendom pick and choose those Scriptures, and only those Scriptures, that seem to confirm each one’s particular brand of religion. Those of like persuasion have formed homogeneous groups, denominations, churches, faiths, etc. All Scriptures that refute the group’s religion are dismissed and ignored. The accepted passages are then “wrested” (twisted-2 Pet. 3:16) to fit the particular group’s doctrinal structure. God’s pure Word is swept aside in favor of a more user-friendly version. A rule to live by: If it is user-friendly, it is not God-friendly. Adam and Eve proved the truth of this rule.
Another good sound-byte voiced by the Bible teacher was: “We must speak God’s view.” Again, sounds wonderful. But churchman has rejected God’s expressed view in favor of one that reflects the religious bent of his particular sect, cult, denomination, faith, church, etc. God’s view is singular and unchanging. Man’s views, being many, are as changeable as the sand foundation upon which they are based. Separate, these religious entities have caused untold harm to the plan of God. When they “come together” they will create a disaster–a pooling of ignorance, unbelief, rebellion, etc.–such as this world has never seen. Spiritually speaking, this pool will be of the “cess” variety. Using a cesspool as our illustration, the various particles found therein represent the various religious organizations found in professing Christendom. This pool must be avoided by anyone who truly seeks God. For a more complete view of this soon-coming world religion, see The Ingathering.
