As noted in the previous posting, sin is a personal choice to obey Satan and disobey God. And in that black and white form gray, gray is formed of black and white. Therefore, because obedience to God makes the believer one with God (Eph. 212-14), sin separates him from God (Isa. 59:2). No matter how deeply one believes in God, one’s faith cannot bridge the gap between God and man that sin creates. Only a total reversal of life can bring about a reversal of fate. Man creates his own fate by his choice of master. Paul tells us in Romans 6:16: “DO YOU NOT KNOW THAT YOU ARE THE SERVANT OF THE ONE WHOM YOU OBEY. EITHER YOU SERVE SIN UNTO DEATH OR YOU SERVE GOD UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS (AND LIFE). We serve only one god–either the God (creator) of this universe (Gen. 1) or the god of this world (2 Cor. 4:4). We serve the one in whose hands we have placed our eternity. Sinners, including self-described “sinners saved by grace,” unwittingly serve the god of the world–Satan–believing that he will usher them into heaven upon their deaths. Jesus warned about this Satanic ruse in Matthew 24:4,5 when speaking to His disciples (and us): “Take care not to let any man deceive you. For many (false prophets) will come to you professing that I (Jesus) am the Christ, and will deceive many.” The “many” are those He warned about in Matthew 7:13,14 who would enter Satan’s wide gate and walk his broad way to death, all the while believing that they have entered God’s strait gate and are walking His narrow way to eternal life. Satan’s false prophets, numbering in the tens of thousands, proclaim that Jesus of Nazareth is the Lord’s Christ, then lead people into false Christianity–Catholicism/Protestantism. They do this by presenting a false gospel that allows people to sin and get away with it. The Apostle Jude warned about these men: “For there are certain men who have crept in among you, ungodly, condemned men who have turned the grace of our God in lasciviousness (a license to sin), thereby denying the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ” (vs 4). Note it: These servants of Satan tell parishioners that, because of God’s grace, they can sin with impunity. BUT SOMEONE MUST PAY FOR THEIR SINS. THE QUESTION IS “WHO?” This question is addressed by the Apostle Paul in Hebrews 6:6 where he states that when church people sin they “crucify Christ afresh.” Paul, the man who received his gospel directly from Jesus Christ (Gal. 1:12) tells us that EACH TIME WE SIN WE NAIL JESUS TO THE STAKE AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN …. See Did Jesus Die on a Cross? As I have noted in the past, I heard a false prophet from a nearby city say to his local and t.v. congregation: “Don’t try to be righteous; you’ll just make yourself sick. You’re nothing but a society of sinners.” “Society of sinners”= “sinners saved by grace.” He made this soul-condemning statement in spite of Paul’s words found in Romans 6:1,2: “Shall we continue to sin so that God’s grace can be manifested? GOD FORBID. HOW CAN WE WHO ARE DEAD TO SIN CONTINUE TO SIN?” In verse 15 he asks: “What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the Law (of sin and death), but under grace? GOD FORBID.” GOD FORBIDS THOSE CALLED BY HIS NAME TO SIN. Yet I am condemned for simply repeating what He said and preserved for our instruction (1 Cor. 10:11). I am continually amazed at the Satanic depth to which church to which people will descend in order to legitimize sin. Though I should not be in that Satan’s “sin is in” message is all they hear upon entering his citadels of sin each sun god worshiping day–Sunday.
Headline: “SIN IS THE TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW.” That settled, let us delve into the Lord’s fine print for some affirmations that the apostle was right in 1 John 3:4. Keep in mind that THE APOSTLES WROTE TO GOD’S CHURCH. EVERYTHING THEY WROTE WAS SENT TO THOSE IN HIS TRUE CHURCH. We will now examine some of their statements.
Sin separates man from God (Isa. 59:2). To sin is to recrucify Christ (Heb.6:6). God forbids His people to sin (Rom. 6:1,2,15). Christ freed His people from (not to) sin (Rom. 6:7). The wages of sin is death (Rom. 6:23). The “gift” of God is grace that enables one to be justified (Rom. 5:1,2). The “promise” of God is His Holy Spirit which empowers the recipient to refrain from sinning (Jam. 4:7). In order to sit with Jesus on His throne in paradise we must overcome Satan’s temptations to sin (Rev. 3:21). He who has the hope of salvation purifies himself as did Jesus by studying His Word (1 Jn. 3:3/ Eph. 5:26). Whosoever abides in Him does not sin. He who sins does not know God nor has seen Him (1 Jn. 3:6). We know that we know Him if we keep His commandments. He who says ‘I know Him’ and does not keep His commandments is a liar and the Truth is not in him (1 Jn. 2:3,4). We know that we know Him, are in Him and have His love perfected in us if we keep His Word (1 Jn. 2:5). In Him is no darkness (sin) at all (1 Jn. 1:5). Every one who does righteousness is born of God (1 Jn. 2:29). Whosoever is born (begotten=conceived) of God does not sin (1 Jn. 3:9). Whosoever is not righteous is not of God (1 Jn. 3:10). He who does righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous (1 Jn. 3:7). He who commits sin is of the devil (1 Jn. 3:8).
EVERY WORD WRITTEN ABOVE WAS WRITTEN BY GOD’S CHOSEN MESSENGERS AND WAS WRITTEN TO THOSE PEOPLE IN HIS CHURCH. L.J.
