Why is God once again pouring out His wrath on mankind? Why do 20,000 children starve to death every ten seconds as was recently reported? Why is it that at any one time, there are on average 10 wars raging on planet earth? Why are so-called “natural disasters” continually bringing death and destruction to people all over the world? Why do tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, droughts, floods, fires, etc. happen? Why do local epidemics and global pandemics take place with regularity (remember AIDS and COVID 19)? Why, several generations ago, did the Black Plague wiped out a third of Europe? Why are senseless killings and other types of senseless acts being committed against total strangers? Why are nations being overrun by strangers who consume what the nation’s citizens have worked hard to provide for themselves, which they must then spend to feed, house, medicate, etc. their uninvited guests who prove that they hate the very people who are helping them by killing, robbing and raping them? Why has the world turned against the United States when this nation has done more to help other people than any other country? Why do certain people hate other people simply because of their skin color, religion or customs? or more insanely, for no reason at all? Why are the millions of medical and mental hospitals on earth always filled to capacity?
The answer to all of the above-listed questions was answered by none other than Jesus Christ Himself as recorded in Luke 10:16. Here He said this about those who refused to believe and obey His Words: “He who hears you (your words) hears Me; he who DESPISES you (because of My words) DESPISES me; he who DESPISES Me DESPISES Him who sent Me.” Simply stated: TO REJECT ANY PART OF GOD’S WORD IS TO HATE HIM AND HIS SON. The Holy Scriptures make plain the fact that God spoke every Word in the Bible to the Word (the God Who became Jesus of Nazareth–Jn. 1:1-4,14) through the Holy Spirit. Jesus then spoke those Words to the holy prophets and apostles either through the Holy Spirit or face-to-face. How important is His Word to the Lord?
In John 12:44-48 Jesus said that all judgment of mankind had been given unto Him, but that He would not judge man. He noted that every Word He spoke had been given to Him by the Father, and that man would be judged by “… every Word that I have spoken.” Read that passage with extreme care. To reject even one Word spoken by God to Jesus, and that He in turn spoke to His prophets and apostles, is holy and eternal. To reject even a jot or tittle, to add to or remove from those words (the Law) results in a spiritual death sentence being administered to the guilty party. It is that death sentence that is the cause of all of the problems man has, is and will continue to suffer through.
Mankind is spiritually dead. Two and one/half billion people claim to have faith in Jesus and the Father. However, 99% are spiritually dead because their faith is not accompanied by WORKS as God says through the Apostle James in 2:10.14.17,18,20,24,26. Faith is involved in the salvation process only if it is accompanied by WORKS OF FAITH–OBEYING GOD’S WORDS FOUND IN HIS HOLY BIBLE.
Recall that Adam and Eve were told by the God of the Old Testament (Who later came to earth as Jesus of Nazareth) that if they so much as touched the forbidden fruit THEY WOULD DIE. He was referring to spiritual death which they experienced immediately upon disobeying Him as proven by their actions–THEY HID FROM HIM WHEN HE ARRIVED IN THE GARDEN TO SPEAK WITH THEM (Gen. 3:1-8). Why did they hide from their Creator? BECAUSE THEY HAD BECOME SPIRITUALLY DEAD. From the time of their creation they had spoken with Him face-to-face on a regular basis because their spirits were alive and they were walking in obedience to Him. Now they were trying to hide from Him because their spirits had died. Adam and Eve knew what modern churchman, who is as dead as they were, does not know–THAT THEIR FAITH.BEING DEAD, HAS NO EFFECT ON THEIR LIVES. God treats those in the church exactly as He treats those outside the church who have no faith at all. They get the same diseases; they are healed by the same drugs; their homes and businesses are destroyed by fire, flooding, etc. exactly as do their nonchurched neighbors. Their prayers are not answered. In summary, those who claim to believe in the Lord receive the same treatment from Him as do those who do not believe in him. Read Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28 to see how God treats those who obey Him and those who do not. Remember, He is speaking to HIS CHOSEN PEOPLE. Today He is speaking the same to THE CHURCH.
In Isaiah 59:2 the Lord, speaking through the prophet, tells us that sin separates us from Him. Separation from Him leaves us without protection from Satan. Another aspect of separation from God is the fact that we cannot be separated from God if we have never been with Him. Again the prophet was speaking to God’s chosen people then and to the church now. Read Who Are God’s People? and “My People Who are Called by My Name.” Key words People and Called respectively. The Old Testament prophets and the New Testament Apostles teach us by their letters to the Israelites and the churches respectively that just because we are in church and doing churchy things does not mean that we are one with the Lord. Sin separates us from Him. Read The Message of the Cross in which I show Scripturally that Jesus died and arose from the dead in order to provide a way for CHURCH PEOPLE to get right with Him, to be blessed by Him and to receive salvation from Him. Key word–Message.
Adam and Eve could have lived forever in the paradise that was Eden if they had not sinned. In the series titled “It Is Finished” (key word–“Finished”) I explain the process of salvation and how Jesus bled and died in order to take our PAST sins on Himself in an act of grace Biblically known as JUSTIFICATION. He then arose from the dead so that we might receive eternal life upon His return to earth to establish the Kingdom of God where He and those who “walked as He walked” (1 Jn. 2:6) and “overcame (temptation) as He overcame” (Rev. 3:21) would live with Him and the Father forever. Walking as He walked and overcoming Satan as He overcame him requires much more than faith. It requires WORKS OF FAITH, MEANING OBEYING THE WORD OF GOD IN LETTER AND SPIRIT. Also read The Justification–In Him Connection. Key word–Justification. Now back to Luke 10:16.
In that reference Jesus describes how He and the Father view those who reject any part of their Words of Life called the Holy Bible. Jesus Himself declares that those who doubt any of Their Words are professing that they DESPISE BOTH THEM AND THEIR WORDS. In the Greek language–the language spoken by Jews in those days–the word DESPISE is “atheteo” which means to reject, to set aside, to cast away, to bring to nothing, to fight, to struggle against. So what does this say about those who refuse to embrace God’s weekly Sabbath, who instead choose to honor the sun on Sunday–the day sun worshipers worshiped their god–the sun–AND STILL DO. What does this say about those who celebrate Christmas? Anciently such people were called heathen. TODAY THEY ARE CALLED “CHRISTIANS.”
Are you beginning to see WHY God is pouring out His wrath on the earth in accordance to what Jesus warned about in Matthew 24:1-8. Be it known that God’s attitude toward church sinners is the same as it is toward those outside the church. Sin is sin, regardless of who commits it. As Jesus explained in Matthew 24, the churched and the nonchurched are both experiencing the “beginning of sorrows” which will grow progressively worse. Again, WHY? A short trip back in Bible history will answer the question.
Recall that, following generations of being blessed by God while refusing to obey Him, how He sent the Assyrians to defeat, slaughter and enslave His CHOSEN PEOPLE. Following this, He scattered them throughout the earth. About 150 years later He sent the Babylonians to do the same thing to the tribes of Judah and Benjamin–called Jews and for the same reason–DISOBEDIENCE TO HIS WORDS. He also scattered the Jews throughout the world. In First Corinthians 10:11 we are reminded that the Old Testament serves as prophecy for the New Testament Church which God had recorded and preserved to serve as His teaching tool for us today. What He did to Israel He will do to the church–THE ISRAEL OF GOD (Gal. 6:16).
Today, that which calls itself “the church” but refuses to obey the Lord, is ignorantly watching herself and her host nations being destroyed by the Lord. Recall in Matthew 24 that the disciples had asked Jesus when He would return to earth. He warned that during what we call the church age, that there would arise false prophets who would lead the church into what Paul called “APOSTASY,” meaning a falling away from God just before Christ’s return (2 Thes. 2:3). This would take place immediately before the Great Tribulation Period began. Today we are witnessing the prophesied “falling away” by the Institutional Church. This apostasy will lead to the arrival of the 3 1/2 year long period known as the Tribulation and the Day of the Lord. This time of global death and destruction will bring upon sinning man, including sinning churchman a literal hell on earth. Read The Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord. Key word–Tribulation.
What we are witnessing now is playtime compared to what God tells us is coming on the earth BECAUSE MAN, INCLUDING CHURCHMAN, REFUSES TO OBEY HIS WORDS. Churchman has instead chosen to embrace the ways of the heathen religions from which the church has borrowed many of her beliefs and customs. In the following series we will see how the ways of the heathen came to dominate the life of the church and to form the very foundation upon which she is built. Recall that God describes such a foundation as “SAND” (Mat. 7:26,27). The home page of this website lists a number of such heathen beliefs and customs. L.J.
