Who Will Comprise The “Great Multitude” Of Revelation 7:9? (Pt. 1)

April 16, 2022 by Larry Jaques Leave a Comment

In Revelation 7:9 we are told about a “great multitude” that will be so large that a person will not be able to number them.  Four questions relative to this gathering will be answered in this series: 1) who are these people?  2) why are they gathered together in one location?  3) where is that location?  4) what is their significance to those reading this posting?  The short answers are 1) those who have come out of the “great tribulation”  2) God has gathered them there 3)  before His Throne  4) they serve as examples for those reading this posting.  Not knowing the spiritual condition of those who read this website, I will write as I always do–as if my readers know nothing about the subject under discussion.  Let us begin.

The information found in this series could protect you from the year of unimaginable terror that will take place just before Christ returns.  This critical message lies at the heart of the Book of Revelation because it relates directly to the problems the world generally and you individually are facing and what you can do to be protected from those problems.  If you heed what you read on this website you will also be protected from the soon-coming “Great Tribulation” in which the people who will make up the great multitude will find themselves.  You do not want to be part of that congregation.  But if you fail to heed the warnings you receive from the Lord through this website, you will remember them later while in the great tribulation.

This message stresses God’s incredible mercy.  Be prepared to be shocked because you will never have heard or read what God is about to reveal to you.  I have been ridiculed and rejected by religious leaders for proclaiming what you are about to learn.  You are probably saying to yourself: “Does this fellow do anything but offend people?”  The answer is “No.”  That is my job.  Satan and his false prophets scratch itching ears, inflate egos and make people feel good about where they supposedly are in God’s eyes.  I tell them the truth.  Church people hate God’s Truth.

The Book of Revelation tells of a vision Jesus Christ gave to the Apostle John (the only remaining apostle) around 100 A.D.  In 7:9 John describes the great multitude Jesus has shown him as follows: “After this I beheld and, lo, a great multitude, which no man can number, of all nations and kindreds, and people and tongues stood before the Throne (of God) and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes having palms in their hands.”

In spite of the fact that Revelation was written in past tense, the message was for a future time–the final days of the age.  That time is now.  I believe that many people living today will see the beginning of the great tribulation, which will mark the beginning of the final 3 1/2 years of the world as we know it.  The fact that those who will be in the great multitude will have come from numerous nations proves that God’s true Gospel will have been “preached in all the world” before this event takes place.  In Matthew 24:14 Jesus said that He would return to earth only after His Gospel had been preached as a witness in all nations.  This is being done as you are reading this posting.  The end-time spreading of God’s Gospel was initiated by a man named Herbert W. Armstrong in 1933.  Today that Truth is heard and read around the world.  Those in the great multitude, as well as those who will have preceded them will have that man to thank in the future Kingdom of God.  I would like to be first in line to do so.

This great, diverse multitude will be clothed in white robes–God’s symbol of holiness.  This means that they will have heard the true Gospel of God and will have repented of their sins, which God defines as transgressions of His Law (1 Jn. 3:4).  Because the Institutional Church has “nailed the Law to the cross,” they will have rejected approximately 80% of His instructions for receiving eternal life.  This being so, most of what the great multitude will know about God’s Word will have come from a source other than that which calls itself “the church.”  In that Catholicism/Protestantism long ago rejected the Truth about God’s Law, how will the great multitude know to repent and of what to repent?

Those in Catholicism/Protestantism hate the Lord’s Truth.  My experiences with both heads of Satan’s religious beast confirm this fact.  If you doubt this, try telling church people that they are sinning by going to church on Sunday, or by observing Christmas or Easter, or that the dead do not go directly to heaven or hell, or that there is no such thing as a trinity, or even mentioning the word “works.”  Or if one is a glutton for punishment, tell a pillar of “the church” that no one will be saved and born again until the return of Jesus Christ.  Hell hath no fury like a spiritual giant corrected, especially when the corrector is using the Holy Bible as his instrument of correction.  No matter how kindly and patiently one proclaims the Truths listed above, they will not be appreciated.  Church people hate the Holy Bible and those who believe and obey it.  In case you have not yet learned the following Truth, embrace it now: THE CHRISTIAN WALK IS A WALK OF WAR.  For proof, read the series titled Persecution, using the title as the key.

For those who are engaged in the Lord’s end-time ministry, it will be during the great tribulation that we will see the real fruits of our labors.  What seems like failure as we toil seemingly to no avail, will at that time set our hearts on fire as an innumerable multitude remembers our words and turns to the Lord.  The Almighty has prophesied it, therefore it will happen.  L.J.
