In the first 2 postings of this series I reminded readers of several “truths” the Social Gospel crowd claims God wants them to preach and be about. I also wrote what God says His church must preach and be about, which in every case contradicted the Counterfeit Church’s theology. The Truths I presented from the Holy Scriptures have been summarily dismissed and rejected by many in professing Christendom. Though not all churchites believe in and practice the doctrines of the Social Gospel, all are in rebellion against God and His Word. As was brought out in a previous posting, despising God is not a new phenomenon.

The demise of the Word of God as the central theme of church teaching began some 17 centuries ago with the rise of an all-inclusive religion based on heathen doctrines and customs. This Satanic religion was labeled the “Universal Church” by its founder, Simon Magus. The words “universal” and “catholic” are synonymous. See Simon of Samaria: The Legacy. Following the separation of the “Great Whore’s” harlot daughters who left their mother in protest, the disease that came to be known as “Christianity” soon swept across the globe, polluting and defiling the spiritual landscape wherever the two religious prostitutes (Catholicism/Protestantism) hid their respective versions of leaven. Self-proclaimed “churches” soon numbered in the hundreds. Each group became populated by people who differed from all other groups in matters of Biblical truth. The result of these differences, “Truth” became whatever each group declared it to be. But not everyone joined Satan’s religious carnival. One group chose to retain the Bible as its Standard of Truth–God’s tiny, persecuted, rejected church. The institutional church system makes up the former group–the whores/harlots of Revelation 17:1-5 which number over 2,000,000,000 currently. God’s church–the “few” (Mat. 7:13,14)– number approximately 10,000 world-wide.

In the final posting of this series I will address the Biblical Truth concerning the terms referred to in the first paragraph of the series: “Conservatism/Fundamentalism” and “liberalism/Progressivism.” These terms are being used extensively by self-proclaimed Bible scholars who know nothing about the meanings of the terms. The Word of the Lord has been rejected for so long by so many self-proclaimed Christians that the terms mentioned above have lost their true meanings. In the process many other of God’s Words, concepts, precepts, doctrines and commands have been cast aside in favor of more modern, convenient, intellectually acceptable and ear-scratching expressions. Recall the Oxford Dictionary’s term of the year I mentioned a few days ago. The term which best characterizes the current age is “Post-truth.” Post-truth means that there are no eternal truths, that “truth” is relative to time and circumstance. What is truth today might not be truth tomorrow. In the spiritual realm, “Truth” (God’s Word-Jn. 17:17) can be defined differently by every “Christian.” Denominations form when those who share common “truths” join to form a “church.” As I have stated several times, so-called “Christianity” is the most convenient religion known to man. I have also called it a “religious buffet” which consist of a wide selection of “truths” from which each person or group can choose to form their “church doctrines.” Among the heathen offerings are the Words of the Lord. Diners are free to reject what they do not wish to consume. In 99.99% of the cases, God’s Word is left untouched. L.J.
