“Knowledge is king,” is a common ideological “truth” shared by those who place an especially high value on human intelligence and powers of reasoning.  This ideology is embraced by the vast majority of human beings, which comes as no surprise to Bible enthusiasts.  After all, God did prophesy that in the latter days, “Knowledge shall increase” (Dan. 12:4).  He also noted that man will “run to and fro” in search of more knowledge.  As a result, man is creating knowledge at a pace that would have been thought impossible a few decades ago.  Not only is man formulating knowledge at an incredible rate, but the “Information Highway” is making the fruits of his intellectual production available everywhere on earth, much of it in real time.  Is this a good thing, or not?

It seems that anything and everything can be found on the World Wide Web.  I have found information on everything from how to sharpen a chainsaw chain to how to fix a car safety belt, from how many Muslim mosques there are in the United States (3,000) to how to clean road grime off a motorcycle windshield (a variety of options).  Actually, by using human intelligence and some deductive reasoning I came up with the ultimate solution to the windshield grime problem.  I deduced that any solution that removes rust without harming metal would remove road crud without harming fiberglass.  I was right.  Just paint it on, let it sit ten minutes and hose it off.  As the Lord said in Genesis 11:6, Anything man can imagine, man can do.  I simply imagined a truth and it was indeed a truth.  However, I based my imagined truth on already-known truth.  Much of modern man’s “truth” is not based on proven truth.  Therein lies the problem with much of man’s truth today.

One would think that people who can invent artificial intelligence could solve those same people’s ever-increasing problems.  The problem lies in the fact that the people tasked with solving the peoples’ problems are themselves the problem.  The Lord spoke to this truth in Genesis 6:5: “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every IMAGINATION of the THOUGHTS of his heart (mind) was ONLY EVIL CONTINUALLY.”  Nothing has changed since then except the extent and depth of man’s thoughts and imaginations.

Now, more than ever in human history, human beings have incredible amounts of information and are “running to and fro” in search of more of it.  We marvel at the scope and depth of man’s knowledge.  He peers into the very heart of man.  He explodes rocks lodged in a kidney.  He makes artificial limbs and joints, etc.  However, man also destroys unborn children inside their mother’s uterus and builds bombs that can kill tens of thousands of those who escaped the butcher’s knife.  I read that science will eventually produce a mind-reading machine that will not only know one’s thoughts, but will print them on a screen.  Then there is the machine that will be capable of not only reading the human mind, but changing it as well.

Yet now, as never before, man is facing problems that threaten his very existence.  This in spite of our wealth of information.  Isn’t knowledge supposed to make the world better by making man better? As prophesied thousands of years ago, knowledge is multiplying here in these end times.  Yet finding solutions to man’s ever-increasing problems seem to be eluding the Lord’s most intelligent creation.  Truth about anything and everything has become relative to the person and the situation.  What is the problem?  Why are the acquisition of knowledge and the suffering of problems growing at the same exponential pace?  Could it be that the incredible knowledge man is producing is WRONG?  Is man’s accumulation of knowledge killing him?  Super intelligent man assumes that he understands the difference between right and wrong knowledge.  But the truths that are assumed are often false.

This reality is staring mankind in the face and he is not blinking.  Nor will he accept objective (historical) truth.  As a result we are living in a post-truth age in which subjective (individually-determined) truth based on subjective facts are being spread globally over the Information Highway and labeled as undeniable truths.  The people running this global truth-determining network have given themselves the power to not only determine what is true and false, but which truths are to be spread and to whom.  As a result, the fastest-spreading, farthest-reaching “knowledge” racing around the globe is often FALSE KNOWLEDGE.  False knowledge, if spoken often enough, becomes “truth” that “everyone knows” to be the truth.  My great grandson “knows” that the Pokemon characters are real because he wants them to be real.  And too, “everyone knows” they are real.  Case closed.

Did you ever wonder why the German people, though known for their intelligence, “knew” that the Jews had caused their economy to collapse during the Weimar Republic, that they had caused Germany’s defeat during World War I, and were the reason Germany’s post-war recovery was going so slowly?  Adolf Hitler was both an astute thinker and an ardent student of history.  He noted that if a lie is repeated often enough it becomes truth.  Why?  Because the hearer wills it to be truth.  Hitler convinced the German people that the Jews were their enemy and had to be eliminated from the earth.  POKEMON CHARACTERS ARE REAL.  PERIOD.  And the Jews were guilty as charged.  Period.

Which brings us to the real world where we find ourselves dealing with two pandemics.  One is a death-dealing virus that is affecting the health of large segments of the world’s societies.  The other pandemic involves masses of have nots invading the lands of the haves.  These problems are made more problematic by confusion, disinformation and outright lies spread by those who claim that truth is relative to the will of the truth-possessor.  In other words, certain information is true, not because it has been proven to be true, because truth-deciders want (will) it to be true.  I call this phenomenon the “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest one of all” syndrome.  The one looking into the mirror sees the truth of his/her unattractiveness.  However, when told repeatedly that he/she is what he/she wants (wills) to be (attractive), the truth reflected in the mirror becomes false and the false information being heard becomes true.  This mind-set has been made popular by religious, political and social liberals who’s stock-in-trade is the “truth” that whatever one wants to be true, is true in spite of all evidence to the contrary, which is false.  For example, when a North African Catholic Priest declared that man is born with Adam’s sin gene within his spiritual dna, the people “knew” that it was God’s truth BECAUSE THEY WANTED IT TO BE TRUE.  And when Joe Biden told the masses of Central and South American people to wait before coming to America, he “knew” that they would wait because he and his fellow liberals wanted them to wait.  Only “I want it to be so, so it is so” liberals believed that the people would wait.  They still refuse to admit that their “truth” is wrong.   Their “truth” was relative–it was truth because they wanted it to be truth.  Liberals reject ABSOLUTE TRUTH–the belief that something is true because it IS, ALWAYS HAS BEEN AND ALWAYS WILL BE true.  A person’s wishes have have nothing to do with truth.  Among an ever-increasing number of people, all truth is relative to the person involved.  Adam and Eve believed in relative truth.  Regardless of what God said, they “knew” the true truth, which was what they wanted the truth to be.  Rejecting God’s objective truth, they acted on the basis of their relative truth.  We know how that turned out.  L.J.
