Some 2000 years ago Jesus warned His followers about a demonic mind-set that would dominate the church at the end of the age. In Matthew 7:13,14 He stated that as the time for His return draws near only a few of those who seek salvation would buck the prevailing religious tide by entering His strait (difficult) gate and walking His narrow (His way only) path that leads to eternal life. He warned that the vast majority of church people would follow in the footsteps of their religious ancestors by choosing Satan’s wide (it’s all good) gate and walk his wide (buffet-styled) path that leads to death. See Bait and Switch. Jesus warned that, prior to His return to earth, church people would refuse to adhere to His strict rules of engagement, choosing rather to go their own religious way. He noted that this way would seem right to them, but would in reality be the way of death (Prov. 14:12). He was right, of course.
Note that in spite of His numerous statements to the contrary, Scripture-rejecting churchman believes with absolute certainty that he is both right in his beliefs and right with the Lord. Satan has infected modern churchites with two different mind-sets that, combined has created the end-time religious morass known as Christianity. One group (the vast majority) do not know what God says in His Word and therefore do not know that they are in rebellion against Him. A small number know the Truth but believe their religiosity and knowledge of “how it is today” qualifies them to overrule Him. Foreseeing this phenomenon thousands of years ago, the Lord prompted Moses to warn modern man not to “do what is right in his own eyes” (Deut. 12:8). Incredibly, this sin has become one of the premier characteristics of the modern church. See “But I Think ….”
The above-stated warnings have been summarily rejected by those who comprise professing Christendom who have chosen to ignore the Lord’s stated rejection of many of her doctrines and practices. Spiritual, God-serving, God-exalting Scriptures, which Jesus called Truth (Jn. 17:17), have been replaced by the mental, self-serving, self-aggrandizing wishful thinkings of modern churchman. The Lord has a specific warning for those who hold His Word in such contempt (Jn. 12:44-50).
As never before in the history of the world, Americans are being tried and tested in “the valley of decision” (Joel 3:14). Knowing that his time is short, Satan is flooding the nation with a tidal wave of sin and degradation that has been increasing exponentially over the past several years. His good is evil; evil is good (Isa. 5:20), man can decide which is which (Deut. 12:8) religiously correct theology is devouring the American society, the national government and that which calls itself “the church.” God-professing man is rejecting Him and embracing Satan as never before in America’s history. The ultimate irony is that the church is not only refusing to stand against the devil and his sin onslaught, she is opening her doors and pleading with reprobates to enter and bring their abominations with them. With predictable regularity a God-condemned act comes on the scene, garners universal attention and, over time, is embraced by the church and proclaimed as “what God would have us accept, embrace and do”–all done in the name of “love” and “inclusion.” See The Love Debacle. Anyone rejecting the movement is labeled a “hater.” Make no mistake about it, using the above definition, I AM A HATER. Church history reveals that some religious organizations (churches, faiths, bodies, denominations, etc.) will resist Satan’s siren call longer than others. But in the end, ALL CHURCHES WILL BOW TO HIM. Only individually will God-minded men and women stand and be counted. And, as the Lord said, they will be few in number. To be continued. L.J.
