In my series titled: Jesus of Nazareth: God, Man Or God-man? I used the Holy Scriptures to prove that Jesus was a 100% human being, that prior to coming to earth as a man He divested Himself of all His former God characteristics, powers, etc. When He said, “If you have seen Me you have seen the Father” He exposed the Satanic darkness of religious man’s sin-excusing theology. He laid bare the difference between true Christians and counterfeit Christians, between the true Church of God and the counterfeit Church of Satan. He brought understanding of how He would “abide” in the true saint in the form of the Holy Spirit. However, this understanding does not come from perusing the Holy Scriptures in search of statements that will confirm one’s pre-formed theological “truths.” To the one who is open to God’s “voice” the Prophet Isaiah asks to whom can God teach knowledge and give understanding of His way and will? He then answers the question. A search for God’s Truth is not for the weak of will and determination. In order to receive understanding and revelation from on high one must study the Holy Bible “precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little” (Isa. 28:9-13). Few, God tells us, are willing to do this. Man insists on making his own rules. However, Christ makes and enforces the rules for the one in whom He abides. This makes no allowance for sin (darkness) in His host for “He is light, and in Him (Jesus) is no darkness at all” (1 Jn. 1:5). This means that the host is filled with light. Light and darkness cannot abide together. King David made it clear that Christ will not abide in a sinner, a Truth that is rejected by all “sinners saved by grace.”
In Christ’s short, simple statement He told the world that HE WAS THE PHYSICAL REPRESENTATION OF THE SPIRIT GOD, THAT HE WAS THE VESSEL IN WHICH GOD RESIDED IN THE FORM OF HIS HOLY SPIRIT. God remained in Jesus BECAUSE JESUS OBEYED THE FATHER’S “VOICE” SPOKEN BY THE HOLY SPIRIT WITHIN HIM THAT RECEIVED GOD’S WORDS. As a man Jesus was subject to the same rules of spiritual engagement as all other men. One of His apostles–Paul of Tarsus–would later write: “For it is not the hearers of the Law that are just(tified) before God, but the doers of the Law shall (continue to) be justified (Rom. 2:13). Jesus operated under that same Law. The Law is the Holy Bible, which is summarized in the Ten Commandments. To believe what Jesus told Philip the believer must know that the One Who audibly spoke and physically wrote the Ten Commandments while atop Mount Sinai was the Word Who spoke to Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel, Abraham, the prophets and the apostles and Who speaks to His true saints today. This is the same God/Word Who came to earth as the man called Jesus of Nazareth. See the series titled The God of the Old Testament.
“God is no respecter of persons” (Acts 10:34) means that what He did through Jesus in terms of ministerial works He will do through other men who are called by Him into His ministry. The holiness that Jesus exhibited through obedinece is available to anyone who seeks such holiness and is willing to “die to self and live to God”–to allow God to live in him. Many are called to do this, to “walk as He (Jesus) walked” (1 Jn. 2:6). However, few are chosen for having answered the call (Mat. 10:16).
Scoffers do not believe the previous paragraph in spite of the numerous Scriptural passages that proclaim its Truth. Two “Bible truths” are used to refute the Words of God: (1) Adam infected our spiritual dna with his sin leaving man no choice but to sin and, (2) the Law which defines sin (1 Jn. 3:4) was nailed to the cross, thereby nullifying it. Using nothing but God’s Word I have soundly refuted those Satan-devised excuses for sin on this website and on my YouTube site which can be seen at proveallthingsofgod. L.J.
