In a posting titled The Church-Society Connection I proved that “As goes the church, so goes the society.” Key word–Connection. In that posting I gave three examples which revealed the powerful influence the Institutional Church (Catholicism/Protestantism) has on the direction in which societies evolve morally. I will briefly explain the three examples: Affirmative Action, the Stephen Syndrome and Personal Services Contracts, and show how they are a mirror reflection of church ideology and practice.
Affirmative Action: In this colossal put-down of the black race, businesses are required to adhere to a hiring quota in which a certain percentage of hires must be black. This policy must be followed regardless of the qualifications of the people applying for the job. Behind the Affirmative Action ideology lies the assumption that black people are innately inferior to non-black people, and that the only way black people can succeed is to be given preferential treatment and be guaranteed success. AA requires that black people be hired because they are black. Black employment problem solved by AA.
The Stephen Syndrome: When Stephen spoke to his fellow Jews concerning Jesus Christ–that He was prophesied in the Old Testament and that He perfectly fulfilled the prophecies, the Jews who had killed Him were forced to hear what they did not want to hear–God’s Truth found in their own Holy Book. They solved the SS problem by stopping up their ears, screaming and gritting their teeth. That not being enough to stop the speaker, they stoned him to death. The Jews no longer had to hear what they did not want to hear. The actions taken due to their SS solved the problem.
Personal Services Contracts: In the arena of professional sports, players and team owners sign a PSC which states that the player will receive a certain amount of money each year. The player’s salary is guaranteed no matter how he/she performs. If the contract is for 5 years at $5,000,000 per year, the player is guaranteed 5 million dollars per year regardless of his/her performance. He/she can live the good life regardless of the quality of his/her performance. PSC takes care of their future income considerations.
Of late I have noticed another phenomenon which I call Trans-reality. T-R is en vogue and exalted throughout many first-world nations. The T-R ideology dictates that one is the sex one believes him/herself to be. Thanks to R-R, a male bearing a penis and testicles, who has to shave and has male dna is in reality a female if he wants to be a she. The formula is as follows: he wants to be a she. He believes he is a she. He is a she. The formula also applies to a she who wants to be a he. T-R solves the “I am what I am not” identity Problem.
Question: From whence come such things as Affirmative Action, the Stephen Syndrome, Personal Services Contracts and Trans-reality? Why is one awarded a status simply by having a certain amount of melanin in one’s skin? Why do people avoid that with which they disagree? Why do they want all contrary speech silenced? From where came the idea that one can be what one wants to be simply by believing that one is what one wants to be? From whence came the belief that one should be paid before doing the required work? or better still, be guaranteed said payment even if one does the work poorly? What is the source of these senseless ideologies that have been embraced by many first world societies?
In each case cited above, the ideologies and their implementation were first seen in the Institutional Church. “As goes the church, so goes the society.” Ergo, the above-mentioned atrocities come straight out of the church’s playbook.
In the case of Affirmative Action, not having to qualify in order to join a church is a foundational doctrine throughout Christendom. Simply appearing in the right place (church building) at the right time (Sunday) are the only qualifications one needs to be awarded membership. The new member never has to change; he comes as he is and stays as he is. Jesus, he is told, takes care of the rest.
The Stephen Syndrome dictates that if a churchite does not like the message someone is proclaiming (God’s Truth) he/she can flee to his/her “safe space” (church) from one to three times per week where he/she will hear only what he/she wants to hear. In such cases one is always assured that he/she is saved, born again and rapture-ready. Just stay the course and enjoy the ride.
In the case of the Personal Services Contract, the churchite is guaranteed salvation from the moment he/she performs the prescribed ritual (“walk the aisle”) and repeats the prescribed mantra (the “sinner’s prayer”). One is guaranteed salvation instantly and forever, no matter what he/she does or fails to do. He/she is told that to go to heaven one need only “love Jesus.” The fix, he/she is assured, is in.
Within first world societies there is taking place a Trans-sexual revolution in which one’s actual sex is the sex one believes him/herself to be. The roots of this ideology are found in the church where one is what one believes oneself to be (a Christian), even though one admits that he/she does not do what his/her God commands him/her to do in His Rules of Engagement for Christian living (the Bible). The Trans-religionist has done away with the commands found in that Book by “nailing them to the cross.” This admission of rebellion against God’s Law is followed by a demonstration of his/her rebellion which, he/she proclaims, will go unpunished. He/she has0 been told that, because the Writer of those commands died, he/she can sin and get away with it. Trans-religionism enables him/her to believe that he/she is at one with God simply because he/she believes in Him. As a result of this church “truth,” the self-assigned title of “Christian” applies to anyone who has met the lone requirement for Christianhood, salvation, the rapture, etc.–“only believe.”
The “truth” behind Trans-religiosity is that, though outwardly one is an active participant in the sin-saturated world (a “sinner …), on the inside one is righteous–having no sin because Jesus has already paid the price to have each sin removed as quickly as one can repent of it (… saved by grace).” As is the case with the trans-sexual, what you see with a Trans-religionist is the exact opposite of what you get. As is the case if one unzipps a Trans-sexual’s physical pants, unzipping the Trans-religionists’ spiritual “pants” reveals a well-hidden truth. When I unzip the T-R’s pants by proclaiming God’s Word I get a good dose of the Stephen Syndrome, thankfully without the rocks. And yet both transsexuals and trans-religionists proclaim that what is seen outwardly is not what actually is. Not surprisingly, both groups resist unzipping for they know that the world will see their Trans-reality facade. Could professing Christendom and the societies that house her remove themselves any farther away from God? Unfortunately, yes. Gird your loins, dear reader, the worst is yet to come. L.J.
