I was prompted to address this subject by a piece of federal legislation being proposed by the liberals in the U. S. Government that would force all Americans to carry some form of information on their person that would allow them to conduct their daily lives in a relatively normal manner.  The item under consideration is called a “Vaccination Passport”–a card that would prove that one has been vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus.  Without this card an American citizen would be restricted as to his/her movements outside the home.

Such an item could take the form of a TATTOO, or a type of INVISIBLE WRITING on the skin.  Governmentally required information could be contained in a CAPSULE implanted beneath the skin.  These information-bearing entities could be read by a portable, hand-held machine and could tell the authorities if the citizen has met the requirements that would allow him/her to work, buy, sell, move about, etc.  Some officials have presented this idea, calling it a “Digital Vaccine Passport.”  Anyone who has read the book titled 1984 is familiar with the concept of governmental control of a population.  I highly recommend that you read this book that came out some 50 years ago.  Tattoo, capsule, information card ….  Impossible?

Today, before the sun goes down, the president, a governor or a mayor could force everyone within their jurisdiction to wear a face mask in order to leave home.  I have heard of mayors threatening to force people in their cities to wear a mask while on their own property.  One mayor suggested such a law that would force face mask compliance inside one’s own home.  The United States is not the only nation considering a Vaccination Passport.  Would those in power place such restrictions on their fellow citizens?  Yes.  And enjoy doing so.  Students of history recall that the German Nazis forced Jews to carry papers that proved that they had governmental permission to be where they happened to be and to do what they happened to be doing.  The Nuremburg Laws stated what Jews could and could not do, where they could go, where they could live, whom they could marry, what occupations they could have, etc.  Recall that the Nazi’s tattooed identification numbers on the forearms of the people imprisoned in their concentration camps.

But we are much more sophisticated today.  An invisible-to-the-naked-eye tattoo or skin implant could carry the personal information of a nation’s citizens.  Special devices could be designed that could extract this information.  Tracking devices can be placed on an automobile that record  where the car has been, when, etc.  I once flew an airplane that was equipped with a device that showed, in exact map form, the route I had taken.  This was a privately owned airplane.  If an individual can own such equipment, could not an all-powerful government?

Is there any type of information that is off limits to a governmental entity?  Is there any type of information that is beyond the pale of big government?  Several years ago a U.S. politician proposed a government tax the gaseous emissions expelled from the rear ends of cattle.  Commonly known as the “Fart Tax,” the law would force cattle owners to pay an annual “air pollution tax” for each animal he/she owned.  The measure did not pass.  But had it been enacted into law, I would like to know HOW SUCH QUANTIFIABLE MEASUREMENTS WOULD BE ASCERTAINED?  I am certain that Big Brother could come up with a plan.

It is a well-publicized fact that governments around the world are planning an unprecedented level of surveillance and control of their citizens under the pretext of combatting the COVID-19 virus.  Using online, high tech tools, governments could know who, what, when, where, how, etc. about every man, woman and child within its borders.   Using the tools already in place, the police can trace our movements, as well as the time of our movements, using our own personal communication tools such as our smartphones.  (I do not own one)  In a matter of minutes they can know who we have called and from whom we have received calls, at what time, etc.  In some cases they can reproduce what was said or written.  Using such tools, officials can determine where we are or have been, who we are or were with, what we are or were doing, what t.v. program we are watching or have watched, etc.  Reports are coming out about devices on personal implements and computer screens that hear our conversations and watch our movements INSIDE OUR OWN HOMES.  Our emails, texts, phone conversations, etc. can be intercepted by anyone with the proper equipment.  Governmental agencies have such equipment.  And they are not alone.  “Hacking” has become commonplace throughout the world.

For years governments throughout the world have been pushing for online, centralized information-gathering rights concerning the citizenry’s medical situations.  Less sophisticated but very effective surgical implants of information have been used to locate and identify animals for years.  With the proper device one can learn the animal’s name, owner, owner’s address, phone number, etc.  Such technology could easily be tailored for use on human beings.  Is man capable of such invasion of privacy?  Is sophisticated modern man capable of using such invasive technology in order to totally control his fellow man?

The nation of Israel already has such a program in operation.  In Israel one can attend sporting events, eat in restaurants, go to a gym, 0attend a wedding, a religious gatherings, etc., IF one has a “GREEN PASS.”  Early this month (April, 2021) the British government put forth a plan to require a Vaccination Passport in order to attend any meeting where large numbers of people will be in attendance.  Only those with the proper paperwork can attend such events.  Before long someone will point out how much smoother the identification process would be if a hand-held instrument could simply read an invisible skin tattoo, or scan information from a capsule implanted beneath the skin.  In my opinion, it is not a matter of if, but when.   L.J
