The word “relevant” refers to something that is fitting, pertinent, applicable and meaningful relative to a specific situation. I recently saw the heading of an article printed in a religious magazine that was sent to me by a friend (I do not subscribe to church publications). The heading asked if the church should change to remain relevant in a changing society. My written answer back to the sender was that what the world knows as “the church” has not been relevant since the fourth century. The reason for her irrelevance is that she has continually changed (evolved) in order to fit into and be accepted by the world in which she lives. Because of her evolving standards of thinking, speaking and acting, she has not only kept pace with Satan’s world, but in many cases has led that world as it separates itself farther and farther from God. On this website, as well as on my YouTube site (proveallthingsofgod), I have highlighted dozens of examples which show Satan’s church along with his world walking down the same destruction.
Having evolved/changed together as a result of either ignorance of God’s Holy word (the world) or rejection of It (the church), they have for some 1700 years walked hand-in-hand toward the abyss, totally unaware of where they going. The church/world system, having been deceived by Satan (Rev. 12:9), is like a pack of lemmings rushing toward a distant cliff totally unaware of what lies at the bottom. In days gone by Indians would fool a hurd of buffalo into stampeding in a specific direction. Too late they realized that the distant horizon hid a cliff at the bottom of which death awaited. Like their animal counterparts, those in the church/world system are rushing headlong toward disaster which can be averted only by a 180 degree change of course. See Bait and Switch and Hope and Salvation.
Having been lured through Satan’s wide gate and along his broad way (Mat. 7:13,14), people in the Institutional Church have only one chance for survival. The necessary action begins with obeying the Lord’s command found in 2 Corinthians 6:14-17 in which He warns them to come out of the Institutional Church, to break away from the people who believe and obey what she teaches. God calls those involved in professing Christendom “unbelievers,” “unrighteous,” “unclean” “darkness,” “infidels” and “idol worshipers.” Only by obeying His command to “… come out of her My people and be separate, touch not the unclean thing …” will He be one’s God and one will be His saint.
