Though professing Christendom has been steadily drifting away from God since shortly after the founding of the New Testament Church (see the epistles of the apostles), her rejection of His Truth, and therefore of Him and His Son (Lk. 10:16), began to accelerate shortly after the turn of the 20th century as self-professed “Christian” people began to value themselves more and their Maker less. As a result the Almighty has continually cursed them with wars, famines, droughts, floods, hurricanes, tornados, fires, earthquakes, etc. in order to get their attention, but to no avail. As the Scriptures show, this is the method He used to “speak” to the Israelites of old. As the Book of Haggai reveals, they also ignored the Lord’s “teaching moments.” As a result of the Israelites’ blindness, He sent the Assyrians and Babylonians to defeat and enslave them. Due to either ignorance of or belief in His Words (or both), the Israelites’ modern descendants, particularly the United States and Britain, have followed lock-step in their spiritual footsteps. God, who is no respecter of persons, has decreed the same outcome for them. As the time for their military defeat and enslavement approaches, the United States and Britain find themselves being overrun by heathen masses from all over the world. This is exactly what God warned would happen if we did not obey Him. See Deuteronomy 28 and Leviticus 26, particularly Deuteronomy 28:51 for specific warnings. As the leader of the rebellion, the United States has been especially cursed. Due to her well-known hypocrisy, America, being supposedly “One Nation Under God,” has been the focus of God’s wrath. Her current war against radical Islam is just one of the ways He is manifesting His wrath. This unwinnable war is the latest in a string of military defeats–Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm being prime examples. Still, the nation whose motto is “In God We Trust” refuses to hear His “voice.” For this reason He is demonstrating His anger in a variety of ways. What unbelieving man calls “acts of nature” are some of the ways God is “speaking” to us in the final days of this age. Let us examine His current use of nature in teaching the United States a lesson she refuses to learn.

As I write this posting (Oct. 20,2018) television news programs are dominated by scenes of the devastation Hurricane Michael has caused in Florida. This disaster is the latest in a long string of catastrophies that have occurred along America’s East Coast over the past several years. As weather watchers repeatedly point out, they are coming at a faster rate and are doing more damage than ever before in recorded history. This comes as no surprise to those who know the Biblical God.

As was pointed out in a previous series, tornados are doing what they do at an ever-increasing rate and are becoming ever more dangerous. Adding to the message the Lord is sending us, we are seeing a change in the locations where these disasters are taking place. Of late there has been a shift in tornadic patterns from America’s central plains eastward. America’s plains states have for decades been known as “tornado alley” for good reason. Today we are seeing the bulk of summer’s extreme weather patterns shifting from the less populated plains states eastward into more densely populated states. As a result we are seeing more death and destruction than previously. What climatologists are calling “a disturbing trend” is nothing more than what the Lord prophesied would take place at the end of this age as man drifted farther and farther away from Him. Ironically, but Biblically predicted, while one side of the nation is flooding the other side is burning. As I write, the entire state of Texas, normally in need of rain, finds herself being flooded like never before in recorded history. This type of “message” was also predicted in the Holy Scriptures. In the following postings we will examine some of the Lord’s specific warnings relative to changing weather patterns as man, particularly religious man, abandons His strict commands in favor of Satan’s more user-friendly options.
