As stated in the previous posting, rejecting any Word or passage of the Lord’s gospel is to embrace a perverted gospel and another Jesus (2 Cor. 11:4). Over two billion church people commit these sins regularly. Having been deceived by Satan, they routinely reject the Lord without knowing it. Contrary to popular religious opinion, a churchite’s ability to pray down miracles from God means nothing relative to their relationship with God. I can attest to the fact that miracles can be performed by a minister or lay person without that person having a positive relationship with God, even though he/she gives Him credit for the miracle. Having done so myself in the past, I can assure the reader that this is a fact.
I can also assure the reader that if I could read to each miracle-working preacher ten passages of Scripture out of their Bibles, they would, without exception, reject all ten because to agree with even one of them would place their position in the church in jeopardy. Because of their fear of offending their churchmates and supporters, they would deny the Truth of all ten passages. Some of them would know that the Bible is God’s Word, and that His Word is Truth (Jn. 17:17). Nevertheless, they would reject what they had read, thereby knowingly perverting the Lord’s gospel, denying Jesus and putting forth a counterfeit Christ, which is standard operating procedure for those who have “answered God’s call to the ministry.”
Not only do such “ministers of righteousness” deny Jesus and worship a false Christ, THEY MISS THE MESSAGE OF THE MIRACLES. God does nothing without a reason. There is a message in everything He does. What is the message behind the various miracles He performs in today’s world? The same as it was in days of old. The reason for miracles is summed up in a statement made by Jesus as recorded in John 5:5-14. In this passage we find a man lying at the edge of the pool in Bethesda waiting for an angel to stir the water. The first person in the pool was automatically healed of whatever infirmity he might have. Thought the man did not know who Jesus was, the Lord healed him. Jesus later found him and asked if he believed in the Son of God. The man replied that he did not know the Son of God. Jesus introduced Himself, then spoke to the recipient of the miracle the message behind each and every miracle or answered prayer: “Go and sin no more.” To be continued. L.J.
