Sin is a joke to most church people. According to popular theology, God ignores their “oopses” because His Son supposedly died so that they can defy Him and get away with it. Which brings up the question whose answer is also rejected by the Counterfeit Church. The question is: what is the Lord’s definition of sin? This is vitally important because sin brings death (Rom. 6:23), or so God tells us. The situation is clouded even more by sin’s relation to the Law, or so God tells us. But the Law was nailed to the cross, or so God supposedly tells us. But that same God says that it is “by the Law that we have the knowledge of sin” (Rom. 3:20). To eliminate this confusion we must first and foremost know what constitutes sin. Therefore we must begin our quest for this Truth by consulting the Book that all church people own. In order not to sin one must know what sin is according to the Author of that Book. His definition is found in 1 John 3:4: “To transgress (break) the Law is sin; for sin is the transgression of the Law.” One will notice that this definition is found in the New Testament. Next question: what is the Law? The Law is the Holy Bible from Genesis to Revelation. The Ten Commandments written on stone by God Himself comprise the entire Law in condensed form. Commandments one and two summarize the ten. Jesus Christ Himself said that: “On these two commandments hang (rest) all the Law (Holy Bible) …. (Mat. 22:40), which is summarized by the Ten Commandments. THE TEN COMMANDMENTS COVER EVERY SIN THAT MAN CAN COMMMIT. THOSE SAME TEN COMMANDMENTS ALSO DEFINE RIGHTEOUSNESS. Obedience to all ten commandments makes one righteous. To break one commandment is to break all ten (Jam. 2:10), which makes one a worker of iniquity (Lawlessness), whom Jesus vows to reject on the Day of Judgment (Lk. 13:23-27). Righteousness is the absence of sin. Sin is the breaking of the commandments. To be righteous one must obey all ten commandments, INCLUDING # 4–THE SABBATH COMMANDMENT. Satan has convinced man that the Sabbath commandment is in reality an option, and that man can break it and “… not surely die.” The Sunday Sabbath rule was instituted by Pope Sylvester I in 364 A.D. at the Council of Laodicea. It is strictly a Catholic-concocted law which the entire church world believes came from God. Man’s obedience to Sylvester makes him a worker of iniquity. The church declares that it does not matter, that she is saved, born again and ready for the rapture, not one word of which is true, or so God says.
Now let us apply this information to the subject of this series which involves being able to sin and get away with it due to Satan’s miraculous sin-transfusion system by which he supposedly infects every human being at conception. According to his parishioners, this makes sin as much a part of man’s natural being as his foot size, and equally as unchangeable. Sin, the Lord tells us in His Holy Word, is THE BREAKING OF THE LAW. WHAT LAW HAS A MONTH OLD BABY BROKEN? Which commandment(s) can an infant break? We are told in God’s Word that to know to do right and not do it is sin (Jam. 4:17). Does an infant know right from wrong? As I proved in an earlier series, the “I can’t help but sin” doctrine was the brainchild of a priest named Augustine who lived in Hippo, North Africa hundreds of years ago. In that his “new truth” excused religious man’s sins, his “revelation” was immediately proclaimed to be “God’s truth.” The rest is history, the final chapter of which the Institutional Church is living now.
God said, “Come, let us reason together.” Where is reason to be found in the religious morass that dominates church doctrine in these days? It is confusion, not reason, that characterizes the religious quagmire known collectively as “Christianity.” God is not the Author of confusion (1 Cor. 14:33), Satan is. Let us apply godly reason to this scenario.
Adam and Eve were free moral agents; they had the right of choice. Nowhere are we told that sin was part of their original condition. God allowed Satan to tempt them and their descendants. He did not, however, allow Satan to infuse them and their descendants with sin. The church, thanks to Augustine and her rejection of God’s Word, remains convinced that she has no choice in the sin-righteousness matter. She is the glove; Satan is the hand that controls her. She is the marionettes; Satan pulls her strings. Helpless before her master, she has no choice but to dance to his tune.
Thank God He has a remnant–His Very Elect saints–who have not been taken in by Satan’s perverted gospel (Gal. 1:6-9) and who are willing to expose it to the world by putting forth His light (Word). The church hates that light because it exposes her darkness. Because of her rejection of God’s Word she has never heard His Truth (Jn. 17:17). Only those minutely few who have “ears to hear” have heart it. Man has made his own religious way. Under the direction of Satan he has charted his own path to a false salvation. God warns us about this in Proverbs 14:12: “There is a way that seems right to a man, but that way leads to destruction.” Note that man’s way seems right to him. Why? Because Satan has warned him against God’s way, should he inadvertently hear or read it, he immediately rejects it. To such a man Christ will one day say, “I never knew you; depart from Me you who work iniquity”–Lawlessness (Lk. 13:27). Note that Christ will say that He NEVER KNEW HIM. Though such people will have spent their lives worshiping Him, their worship will have all been IN VAIN (Mat. 15:9). Why will it have been in vain? Because they will have substituted their own doctrines for His. False Christians will one day learn that the way of professing Christendom is the way of death. Being Catholic or Protestant is not the unforgiveable sin. It is not too late to turn to the Lord. Seek Him while He may be found. L.J.
