Those whose eyes are not staring into their little hand-held boxes have noted that as America’s religious world is changing, so is the society in which it is found. What would have been soundly rejected in the 1950’s is now the status quo. Behavior that was viewed with disgust in the past is not only accepted, but preferred. From whence came social policies and ideologies that applaud that which, for 2000 years, was rejected by the majority of Americans? From whence came the practice of guaranteeing payment for work not yet done?–Instant salvation. From whence came the notion that one can break the law and, because law-breaking is expected, get away with it?–Original sin. From whence came the idea that, because economic failure is always someone else’s fault, those at fault must provide womb to tomb care of those who fail?–The Social Gospel. From whence came the notion of “participation trophies”?–Sinners saved by grace. The above-listed heresies are the product of the God-rejecting, Satan-serving Counterfeit Church.

If one finds himself in one of the devil’s churches one will never hear his false prophets preach on such subjects as the “walk” that salvation seekers are required to walk (1 Jn. 2:6), or the race one is required to run (Heb. 12;1), or the purity that is commanded of such seekers (1 Jn. 3:3), or the righteousness one must manifest (1 Pet. 2:24), the result of which is eternal life (Rom. 6:20,22) if maintained until the end of life or of this age (Mat. 10:22). One will not hear a word spoken about James 2:10,11,14,20,24,26 which, like the passages mentioned above, would not be believed if they were mentioned.

As did Adam and Eve, by rejecting the Truth of God–His Word (Jn. 17:17) those who have been lured into the devil’s Catholic/Protestant holding company have taken for themselves the power to determine truth and error, righteousness and sin, right and wrong. In so doing they have assumed for themselves god status, which is idolatry. But this phenomenon is not new. After replacing the true God–becoming His vicar–Adam and Eve proceeded to birth numerous generations of gods. Those who did not follow their lead have been few in number. Not even the establishment of the New Covenant Church in A.D. 31 could put an end to man’s quest for godship.

The individual and nation-destroying desire for self-exaltation roared back to life soon after the Day of Pentecost. Only 22 years later we find the Apostle Paul warning the church in Galatia (1:6-9) about obeying “another gospel” and rejecting the one they had been taught. The result has been the end-time church of today that God speaks about in Revelation 3:14-20. Satan’s leaven, first embraced by the two parishioners in the Church of Eden, continues to not only spread, but to increase in strength with each passing day. By comparing the modern Laodicean Church to the Church of God that Jesus created we can see just how powerful Satan’s leaven really is. And by observing the moral decay that is destroying the American society, we realize what a powerful influence the Counterfeit Church has on the so-called One Nation Under God, which is the same God in which she supposedly trusts. God tells us that “Unto whom much is given, much is required.” This once godly nation has been given much. Her response has been to throw her many God-given blessings back into His face. She has sown the wind. Those with eyes to see and ears to hear can see and hear His whirlwind coming. L.J.
