The term “Evangelical” has become quite popular of late. Traditionally, Evangelicals were the “storm troopers” of the ultra-conservative religious right. They were the “gate keepers” for traditional Christianity who stood guard to make sure that no changes were made to the Holy Scriptures. But change has arrived on the religious scene. Over time the pressure to “go along to get along” has become too great to ignore. While lauding “that old time religion” of the past, they have been quietly rejecting God’s version of the church that was established in A.D. 31 by Jesus Christ. As a result, the “right’s” version of the church has become something entirely different from that primitive church that Jesus founded and men died to protect. Over time most of the strict, no options commands put forth by the Lord through His prophets and apostles have been abandoned in favor of more user-friendly versions that offer a variety of options designed to scratch an ever-growing variety of itching ears. This ministry is dedicated to exposing just how far the modern, supposedly conservative church has veered from God’s strait and narrow way. One example of modern churchthought reveals that, in the mind of most church people, “the Lord has changed.” This statement, uttered on international television, plainly revealed the collective mind-set of that which today calls itself “the church.” I can tell you what God calls it–AN ABOMINATION. If, that is, we can take Him at His Word.
I recently saw a national (U.S.) poll which stated that the nation’s evangelicals are “… taking a softer approach relative to the homosexual issue.” My question is: Softer than what? The answer is: God’s Holy, unchanging, one-way-only Word. One “conservative” pastors professed to a local newspaper reporter that by welcoming homosexuals into his church, marrying them, etc. “… God is doing a beautiful thing here.” Another “minister of righteousness” stated that his church was “… stepping outside of the Bible” in its search for the right path to take regarding the gay issue. According to these spokesmen for conservative Christianity, God’s standard for spiritual success is being lowered while the reward for embracing the lowered standard remains the same–eternal life. Once again Satan’s words to Eve reverberate throughout the Catholic/Protestant religious system: You can refuse God’s standard of right and wrong and still reap the reward for obeying it. As the devil told Eve, she and Adam could eat of the forbidden tree and still receive eternal life. Though they could sin at will, they would “… not surely die.” According to the modern church, disobeying God is not a sin if you commit the sin in His name. I once told a woman that what she was doing was a Biblically defined sin. Her rationale for continuing the sin was that, by doing so she was honoring Him. The moral: One way to honor God is to disobey Him. Ironically, those who uphold the Scriptures the disobedient have on their coffee tables are looked upon as heretics, haters, etc. One of the curses God said He would put on sinning man is “confusion of mind.” What could be more confusing than what I have just written?
Some Satanic beliefs and practices, Biblically called “doctrines of devils,” have found their way out of the church and into the society itself, thereby joining the church to the world. Due to this union, the expression “church world” is totally appropriate in that today one is hard pressed to distinguish one from the other. In the past the world leavened the church. Then the church began leavening the world. Today, the expression “Mutual leavening” rightly describes this Satan-empowered church-world union. L.J.
