The Great Commandment (cont. 1)

November 11, 2016 by Larry Jaques Leave a Comment

One of the foundational principles of professing Christendom is the belief that the Law was “nailed to the cross”–destroyed. This Biblical “fact” believed by one and all is in direct conflict with His statement to the contrary found in Matthew 5:17 where He tells us not to even THINK that thought. If the church is right, then what Jesus Christ, Who cannot lie (Titus 1:2/Heb. 6:18) said about not destroying the Law is a lie, which is made even more egregious by the fact that He Himself supposedly destroyed it. This means that not only is the Law dead, but what Jesus Himself called the “greatest commandment” (the “Golden rule”) is also dead because it forms the basis (summarizes) of that Law. According to the church, Jesus personally destroyed both the Law and its foundation, which means that we are not to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind, and our neighbor as ourselves. And in that both the Law and the greatest commandment were taken from the Old Testament, the teachings of the prophets are irrelevant to the Christian walk. And in that God said that the church is founded on the teachings of the PROPHETS and the apostles (Eph. 2:20), only the New Testament is relevant, except for quotes from the Old Testament. This means that 80% of the Bible is unfit for church consumption. This means that Ephesians 2:20 is a lie. Also, in 1 Corinthians 10:11 the Lord stated that the teachings of the prophets are to be used to teach those in the New Covenant Church. If the Old Testament has no place in the church, then Bible should contain only the New Testament, minus the offending Old Testament passages. Also, all references made by the apostles to “the Scriptures”–the Old Testament–must also be eliminated in that the New Testament did not exist during the time of the apostles’ ministries.

Due to this mindset, the Counterfeit Church (Catholicism/Protestantism) has rejected the Book Jesus called God’s Truth (Jn. 17:17). Having slapped God in the face by rejecting His Bible, she has manufactured her own bible–two versions, one Catholic and one Protestant–while pretending to believe and obey His Bible which His Son mistakenly called “the Truth.” Following in the footsteps of Adam and Eve, the church has become her own god. Next: Why did the church fall from her exalted place where God had placed her. L.J.
