THE Gospel, THE Faith: Two Titles–One Entity (Pt. 1)

When the word “THE” is used in the Holy Scriptures it means “THE ONLY.” Otherwise the word “A” would have been used instead. This Biblical Truth is made clear in the letter the Apostle Paul wrote to SOME of the people in the church at Rome. In fact, what He wrote, though it should have applied to all people in that church as well as in every other church, it did not so apply. Rather, it directed toward only a few of the church members, as was the case in all of the apostles’ letters to the respective churches.

Nothing has changed, which is why this ministry exists. As I have stated before, the teachings I produce are directed specifically toward the Catholic/Protestant Religious System known as “the church,” the vast majority of whom are not God’s true saints; in fact, they reject God’s Very Elect saints because they reject God’s Words. Jesus said that those who reject any part of His and His Father’s Biblical message “DESPISE” BOTH OF THEM. For a deeper understanding of the two types of people found within “the church,” read Who Are God’s People? and “My People Called By My Name.” Key words–People and Called respectively. You might also read “All That Glitters.” Key word–Glitters.

Only a tiny percentage of “the church”–those whom God calls “My people called by my name”–are true, Spirit-born Christians. Such people are shunned by the church masses because they (God’s saints) are as God describes them in First Peter 2:9 where He calls them “a chosen generation (group), a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people … who have been called out of darkness and into His marvelous light.” Jesus calls that tiny group “… the light of the world” (Mat. 5:14) who are God’s light as He was His light while He was on earth (Jn. 9:5).

The vast majority of people in “the church” are not true saints of God. This phenomenon is not new. Recall that God’s first church, which I call the “Church of Eden,” lost both of its parishioners early on. Satan conquered them using one word–“NOT” (Gen. 3:4): “You shall NOT surely die.” See vs 3). The next church was pastored by Noah, “a preacher of righteousness.” Not even he could turn the people to God. They were so vile that God drowned all of them, leaving only Noah and his family alive on earth. One would think that man would learn from such catastrophes. Not so. Today’s end-time church is following in their predecessors’ religious footsteps which will lead them straight to destruction, enslavement and death. Satan is still using the word “NOT” to lure people into his religious net. He tells them that they can sin at will and they will “NOT surely die.” They just need to repent for each sin.

Turn to Second Chronicles chapter seven. In the first part of the chapter we find Solomon and the people of Israel dedicating the newly constructed Temple to God with many prayers and thousands of sacrifices. Verse 10 speaks about the happiness of the people because of the goodness the Lord has shown toward them. However, God, Who knows the hearts (minds) of men, said to Solomon as recorded in verse 12 that He has heard the prayers of the people. Then in verse 13 He warns Solomon and the people that if HE (God) sends them a drought that devastates the land, and locusts that destroys any surviving vegetation, and diseases that ravage their bodies and minds …. Why would God do that to people He had identified as “My people who are called by My name” who, with prayers and sacrifices, had honored Him during the dedication of His Temple?

He answers the question in verse 14 by stating that: IF His people who were called by His name would “humble themselves” before Him (they were proud), and “pray” (they had failed to pray), and “seek My face” (they had not sought oneness with Him), and “turn from their WICKED WAYS” (they were vile, wicked people who needed to BECOME RIGHTEOUS by obeying His Law), THEN, AND ONLY THEN, HE WOULD HEAR THEIR PRAYERS, FORGIVE THEIR SINS AND HEAL THEIR LAND (SEND RAIN, REMOVE THE LOCUSTS FROM THE CROPS AND HEAL THE PEOPLE OF THEIR DISEASES. NOTE THAT HE–GOD–HAD PLACED THOSE CURSES ON THEM BECAUSE OF THEIR SINS. And who were these wicked people? They were HIS PEOPLE WHO WERE CALLED BY HIS NAME. These sinful people constituted the vast majority of Israelites. God has always had a FEW true saints–His faithful “REMNANT who remain true to Him by obeying His Law. However, the MANY (most) who are called by His name have chosen to reject HIs Words and to believe Satan’s Words. Today the devil’s words are known as “CHURCH DOCTRINE.” Read Matthew 7:13,14; 21-23 and 22:14.

The first chapter of the epistle Paul wrote to the church at Rome has much to tell us about the relationship between THE faith and THE Gospel that God sent to the churches through His prophets and apostles. Understand this: the people of the Old Testament heard the same Gospel as did those of the New Testament Church as stated in Galatians 3:8 and Hebrews 4:2. The Scripture (the Word who became Jesus Christ–Jn. 1:1-4,14) preached the Gospel to Abraham long before there was an Israelite (his descendants). God’s dealings with ancient Israel were preserved to be used to teach those who would be living at the end of the world (1 Cor. 10:11). We are those people. Ephesians 2:20 tells us that the New Testament Church was founded on the Words of both the Old Testament prophets and the New Testament apostles. THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN SEPARATED. THEY COMPRISE ONE MESSAGE. MATTHEW PICKS UP WHERE MALICHI ENDS.

In Romans 1:1-5 Paul notes that he was an apostle (“sent one”) who had been separated (sanctified–set aside) for God’s service which was to preach God’s (THE ONE AND ONLY) Gospel which He had promised us in the Old Testament. THE Gospel preached to Abraham and his descendants was the same Gospel Jesus had taught His apostles who had received grace and apostleship in order to tell all nations to do one thing: “OBEY THE FAITH.” How does one “obey the faith?” Faith is a mental construct. There has to be something tangible (touchable) upon which faith stands. Otherwise, how could it be carried from the tiny nation of Israel to the entire world? It would need to be written and preserved until it could be duplicated millions of times. Which it was, thanks to the printing press.

In verse 12 Paul notes that THE FAITH COMMANDED BY GOD IS MUTUAL (SHARED/ AGREED UPON) AMONG ALL OF HIS TRUE SAINTS. By this we know that THE FAITH Is indeed singular, meaning that there Is only ONE which is shared by God’s people throughout the world. In Ephesians 4:5 we are reminded of the ONENESS of everything pertaining to the things of the Lord. Here we are told that there is ONE BODY (CHURCH), ONE HOLY SPIRIT, ONE HOPE, ONE LORD (JESUS), ONE FAITH, ONE BAPTISM AND ONE GOD THE FATHER. But what is it that brings all of those entities together so that they can be shared mutually with people all over the world at the same time? God will tell us. L.J.
