From early on in her existence God’s faithful saints have been at war against those within professing Christendom who have embraced Satan’s siren call to put forth before the world his more appealing, flesh-satisfying method of getting to heaven. See Life After Death. All the while God’s Word, personified by Jesus Christ, stands like a Rock against a relentless tide of unbelief and rejection coming from the vast majority of those who call themselves by His name. Those who build their spiritual lives on that Rock will liver eternally. Those who follow the shifting sands of man’s “wind and doctrine” will die (Lk. 6:46-49/Eph. 4:14).
In Hebrews 3:15 Paul writes to those who would pervert the Lord’s pure gospel: “Today, if you will hear His voice, harden not your hearts as in the provocation.” Here he is telling the descendants of those whom the Lord had brought out of Egypt that they were walking the same path as their ancient ancestors whom the One who became Jesus of Nazareth had led out of captivity, but who then refused to hear His voice. This episode comes alive in Exodus 19:3-6 where Jesus is speaking to Moses on the top of Mount Sinai: “Thus you shall … tell the children of Israel …. if you will obey My voice indeed and keep My covenant, then you shall be a peculiar treasure to Me above all people …. And you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.” See White Fields for proof that both the true church and the Counterfeit Church (Catholicism/Protestantism) consist primarily of Israelites whom God scattered throughout the world several thousand years ago. While wandering for 40 years due to their rebellion against the Lord the nation of Israel was known as “the church in the wilderness” (Acts 7:38) of the Sinai desert. Today a faithful remnant of that church finds herself surrounded by a spiritual wilderness–false Christianity. One of the false doctrines under which she operates concerns the primary message she puts forth which focuses is on the person of Jesus Christ and not, as He commands, on the gospel of the Kingdom of God as the previous three postings point out.
As those postings show, Jesus preached the kingdom gospel while on earth and commanded His apostles then and now to stay the course directed by Him, saying that He would judge all mankind by the Words He spoke (Jn. 12:48). As a man, Jesus was dependent on the Father for everything, including His Words which, as He professed in John 17:17, are the sanctifying Truth of God. That Jesus was both the Word of God and His Truth in human form is brought out in John 1:1-4 where He is called “the Word,” and in John 14:6 where He declares, “I am the way, the Truth and the life.” SALVATION WILL COME ONLY TO THOSE WHO KNOW, BELIEVE AND OBEY THE WORDS OF JESUS CHRIST, the Son of God Who, while on earth, “went about preaching the GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD” (Mat. 4:23) and Who, following His death and ascension to heaven, returned to earth and for 40 days spoke to His apostles about “the things pertaining to THE KINGDOM OF GOD” (Acts 1:2,3). THE MESSAGE OF GOD’S CHURCH IS THE KINGDOM OF GOD. So says the Head of that church.
Sadly, the Institutional Church has chosen to ignore Him and, like Adam and Eve, concoct her own rules of engagement. Paul wrote of these rebels in 1 Corinthians 1:18: “For the message of the cross is foolishness to them that are perishing.” The message of the cross is that the death of Jesus makes available God’s Holy Spirit power to obey His Words and thereby qualify for entrance into His Kingdom. Tragically, “few” church people diligently study His Word for the Truth that will enable them to “find” the strait gate and narrow way that lead to the kingdom (Mat. 7:13,14). The vast majority prefer Satan’s perverted gospel that puts forth his “believe and receive” doctrine relative to salvation. One’s attitude toward God’s Word, and therefore toward both Father and Son (Jn. 12:44-50), is what separates spiritual sheep from religious goats. Sheep prayerfully and diligently study God’s Word in order to “prove all things” (1 Thes. 5:21) relative to spiritual Truth. Goats believe whatever their ear-scratching hirelings tell them (Jn. 10:12,13). Goats place their eternity-deciding faith in church doctrine, which is an abomination in that it exists. God’s Word and only God’s Word is the Truth (Jn. 17:17). His Word commands that His ministers do as their Lord Jesus Christ did while on earth–preach the gospel of the Kingdom of God. L.J.
