Since the Garden of Eden episode man has preferred Satan’s word over God’s Word because Satan places the power of moral choice in the hands of man. With the exception of a minutely few souls, historic man has followed the pattern set by Adam and Eve. The Institutional Church is the end product of man’s rejection of God as the ultimate authority of good and evil. The combination of Catholicism and the hundreds-strong convoluted morass of “churches, faiths, denominations, nondenominations, interdenominations, fellowships, congregations, etc. that make up Protestantism provide ample proof of man’s rebellion against his Maker. God recognizes only one church. His church does not include Catholicism/Protestantism in part or in whole. Both are abominations to Him.
To determine God’s attitude toward those who reject His Truth (and therefore God Himself–Jn. 12:48-50), let us turn to First John 2:29-3:10: “If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone that does righteousness is born of Him (converted). Every man who has this hope (of salvation) in Him purifies himself, even as He is pure. Man purifies himself by being “washed by the water of the Word” (Eph. 5:26). Whosoever transgresses the Law commits sin, for sin is the transgression of the Law (1 Jn. 3:4). He was manifested to take away sin (from His people). Whoever abides in Him does not sin (break the Law); whosoever sins is of the devil. Whosoever is born of God (converted–not born again) does not commit sin, for His seed (Word) remains in him and he cannot sin.” The word “cannot” is a Greek construction of two words: “can” (dynamai)= can, have the capacity to, and “not” (ou)= no, not, in no way. Jesus’ friends/brothers have the capacity (dynamai) to sin but refuse (ou) to do so. “In this the children of God and the children of Satan are manifested (identified)–whosoever does not do righteousness is not of God.” Question: If, as we are told from pulpit and podium, God supplies our righteousness and we have active part to play in receiving it, then why are we commanded to “do righteousness” in order to be of God? Answer: Righteousness is the opposite of sin (breaking of the Law). Therefore, righteousness is obeying the Law. WE MUST OBEY THE LAW IN ORDER TO BE OF GOD–TO BE RIGHTEOUS.
The above passage reveals that there are only two categories of human beings: those who obey God (His friends) and those who obey Satan (his friends). One is either gathering with God or scattering abroad (Mat. 12:30). One is either for Him or against Him (Mk. 9:40). THERE IS NO MIDDLE GROUND IN GOD’S EYES; WITH HIM IT IS ALL OR NOTHING AT ALL. Those who take part in the paganistic practices of the Institutional Church (“Sinners saved by grace”) are Satan’s friends and are in his service. The deciding factor is love–we either love God or love Satan. In First John 4:1-5 God warns about those who would pull us away from Him–cause us not to love Him–calling them false prophets who “are of the world and speak of the world, and the world(ly) hear (believe) them,” thereby proving their lack of love for God.
“Love is of God, and everyone who loves (God) is born of God (converted) and knows God. God is love” (1 Jn. 4:7,8). Believing in and professing God accomplishes nothing. Satan does this millions of times each Sunday morning. God commands that we prove our love for Him. How do we do this? He tells us. “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (Jn. 14:15). “For this is the love of (for) God, that we keep His commandments” (1 Jn. 5:3). This includes #4–the command to observe His seventh day (Saturday) Sabbath day and keep it holy (Exo. 20:8-11). Note the length God goes to (four verses) in order to emphasize the importance of observing His Sabbath. For this reason the 4th commandment is called the “test commandment.” See The Mark of the Beast. “The only thing that matters is the keeping of the commandments” (1 Cor. 7:19). “And this is love–that we walk after (keep) His commandments” (2 Jn. 6). One proves his love for God by obeying His commandments. One proves his lack of love for God by breaking even one of them (Jam. 2:10-12), thereby making oneself a “worker of iniquity” who will be rejected by Jesus Christ at judgment (Mat. 7:21-23). These are those who have entered Satan’s wide gate and walked his broad path of professing Christendom (Mat. 7:13,14). Observing the heathen sabbath is part of that walk. Churchman not only rejects God’s commanded Sabbath, but further shows his lack of love for Him by practicing heathenism on a grand scale. See the introduction to the website. What is God’s reaction to man’s rejection of Him by those who refuse to believe and obey His Word?
“For if we (Paul included) sin willfully after knowing the Truth (God’s Word–Jn. 17:17), there is no more sacrifice for (our) sins …. (by knowingly sinning we have) trodden under foot the Son of God, … counted the blood of the covenant an unholy thing and done despite unto the Holy Spirit (Heb. 10:26-31). Note that there is no exception for those who attend church, quote Scriptures, wear crosses, preach, baptize, build churches, serve on the mission field, are martyred, etc. I know, for I spent many years doing many of those things. It took a crisis for me to see God’s light. I do not want you to go through what I went through to get to that light. Please pray fervently about what you have read. L.J.
