In His Holy Bible the Lord uses some derivation of the word “fool” (fools, foolish, foolishly, foolishness, etc.) over 250 times. In this posting we will examine some of the Lord’s usage of the word by searching for more depth than can be gleaned by a cursory reading of the passage. It is important that we do this because of the deadly consequences of being labeled a fool by the God whose deity the guilty party (fool) claims to have assumed. Before leaving that dark world where darkness is believed to be light, we need to remind ourselves of the following Truths: The Holy Scriptures were written by “holy men of old as they were led by the Spirit of God” (2 Pet. 1:21). “All Scripture (including the Old Testament) is inspired (Spirit spoken) by God and is good for determining doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Tim. 3:16). In verse seven He tells us that those who refuse to obey His Words are “ever learning but never coming to the knowledge of the Truth.” It is written that The Old Testament was preserved for “our instruction,” meaning God’s people who are living at the end of the age (1 Cor. 10:11). How we study and learn the Holy Scriptures is so important that the Lord left us specific instructions on how to do so. In Isaiah 28:9-13 the prophet asks to whom God can teach knowledge. He then goes into detail as to how to glean all that is knowable about the Lord and His Truths, even going to the point of repeating Himself, which means that there is no other method of study. Study this passage carefully. In Matthew 4:4 Jesus tells us that if we are to live with Him eternally, we must , in this life, live by every Word of God. This is the God who spoke and wrote in stone the fourth commandment. As stated earlier, God formulated three separate commands concerning His Holy Sabbath., which He calls “My Holy Day” in Isaiah 58:13 and, if the Bible is to be believed, He never changed. But Pope Sylvester I did in 364 A.D. at the counsel of Laodicea in order to appease the church’s sun worshiping converts. Read the series on the Sabbath. Key word–Sabbath. In Romans 8:5-8 we are told that the one who does not obey God’s Word (a fool–carnal one) has declared himself the enemy of God. The fool (carnal enemy) is not being led by God’s Holy Spirit and is therefore not His child (Rom. 8:14).
The Almighty goes to the extreme in describing those, numbering in the billions, who refuse to obey Him. These are people who worship Him in vain by substituting their rules for His Words (Mat. 15:9/Mk. 7:6), who call Him their Lord but refuse to obey Him (Lk. 6:46), who call Romans 7:12 a lie which says that God’s Law is “holy, just and good,” who deny Hebrews 6:6 which states that each time we break God’s Law (sin–1 Jn. 3:4) we crucify Christ, who deny that we must “be holy for God is holy (1 Pet. 1:16; Lev. 11:44,45), who reject His command to be peculiar, holy and priestly (1 Pet. 2:9/ Titus 2:4), who are guilty of calling evil good and good evil (Isa. 5:20), who ignore God’s law that prohibits the interpretation of His Word (2 Pet 1:20), who do not hunger and thirst for righteousness (Mat. 5:6), who prefer “doctrines of devils” over God’s Truths (1 Tim. 4:1), who, by breaking one of God’s commandments (#4), breaks the entire Law (Jam. 2:10), who, having replaced God, do not fear Him and therefore lack wisdom (Ps. 111:10), who, like their father the devil, prefer the things of man over the things of God (Mat. 16:23), who see no need to understand God’s Words (Pr. 18:2), who, in search for wisdom, look inward into their own hearts (Prov. 24:7; 28:26), who walk in darkness (Ecc. 2:14), who refuse to be Christ’s spiritual brethren and His friends for whom He died (Mat. 12:46-50/ Jn. 15:13,14), who refuse to judge themselves by the Holy Bible (1 Pet. 11:31), whose sins separate them from God (Isa. 59:2), who prove their lack of love for Christ and God by refusing to obey Their Law (Jn. 14:15,23; 15:10), who refuse to be Christ’s disciples and to receive eternal life by obeying His commandments (Jn. 8:31/ Mat. 9:17), who have accepted another Jesus (2 Cor. 11:4), who are yoked with other non-believers (2 Cor. 6:14-7:1), who deceive themselves by rejecting God’s Law (Jam. 1:22), who operate under strong delusion (2 Thes. 2:11), who do what is right in their own eyes (Jud. 17:6; 21:25), who accumulate their sins until the day of judgment (Rom. 2:5), who prefer smooth things, lies and deceits over God’s Truth (Isa. 30:10), who believe in many churches instead of one (Eph. 4:4-6), who refuse to allow God to write His Law on their hearts (Jer. 31:31-39/ Heb. 8:8-12), who refuse to study the whole word of God (Acts 20:27), who believe that God’s grace gives them a license to sin (Jude 4), who prove that they hate God by refusing to obey His Law (Deut. 5:1,9; 7:9,10), who, on the day of judgement, WILL NOT STAND IN GOD’S SIGHT (Ps. 5:5). These are the characteristics of the fool. So says the Lord. L.J.
