In Galatians 6:7 the Apostle Paul, writing under the power and direction of the Holy Spirit, warned the Galatian churches to, “Be not deceived, God is not mocked, for whatsoever (good or bad) a man sows, that (blessing or curse) shall he also reap.” Centuries earlier the Prophet Hosea issued the same warning when he wrote that sinners, “sow the wind and reap the whirlwind” (8:7). The proverbist issued the same warning in 22:8: “He who sows sin reaps sorrow.” In the first 13 and 14 verses of Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28 respectively the Almighty prompted Moses to promise that He (God) would bless those who obeyed Him and curse those who did not. But because the Old Testament was supposedly “nailed to the cross,” only God’s true saints know, believe and obey what He said in those two books. As the first few verses in them are holy and eternal, so also are the remaining verses. As Leviticus and Deuteronomy are holy, so is all of God’s Law–Genesis to Revelation–upon which the New Testament Church was founded (Eph. 2:20). In 1 Corinthians 10:11 Paul tells us that the Old Testament was recorded and preserved “for OUR instruction.” “Our” referred to those “upon whom the ends of the world have come”–the New Testament Church. The end time (time of the end of the world) began on the Day of Pentecost 31 A.D. (Acts 2:1-17). The signs marking the world’s final days have almost all been fulfilled. We are living in the Laodicean era of the New Testament Church which is described in Revelation 3:14-17. This characterization of the church that would be in existence during the final days of the world tells us that the return of the Messiah is at hand.

Throughout the Holy Scriptures their Author repeatedly reminds mankind about His Law of Sowing and Reaping. He also warns that if the curse/whirlwind/sorrow He sends for disobedience to His Holy Bible does not bring about the obedience/righteousness/holiness He commands, another curse/whirlwind/sorrow will be forthcoming. The history of mankind in general and the United States in particular proves Him to be true to His Word. History also proves that mankind makes two deadly mistakes: he does not believe God and dismisses the lessons of history. As philosopher George Santayana said: “He who does not learn from history is destined to repeat it.” Man, including churchman, proves Santayana to have been right.

Within professing Christendom heathen (Satanic) doctrines, beliefs and customs are accepted as God’s will. See the Introduction to this website for a partial list of such “truths.” Ignorance and/or unbelief of God’s Word have made the Institutional Church a “safe space” where its members are free from having to hear that which offends them–God’s Truth, which Jesus said was His Word (Jn. 17:17). As a result, the church and the nation that houses her are repeatedly being taught the same lesson, a lesson they refuse to learn. The lesson concerns sowing and reaping. America continues to sow sin and reap sorrow.

America finds herself nearing the apex of the Lord’s latest attention-getting “message”–the Coronavirus Curse. “This too shall pass; life will return to normal” we are assured by doctors and religious leaders. The doctors assure us that science will solve the problem. Preachers assure us that God will solve the problem. Both of which are true–to a point. God will indeed allow science to solve the problem–temporarily. The cure for the coronavirus is the same as its cause–man. Man refuses to cure himself because this would involve obeying God, which he refuses to do. There is a saying: “The more things change, the more they remain the same.” Truly, though God continually changes the curses He uses to teach man, man remains the same.

Following the current period of suffering, life will eventually return to normal because God will have “heard our prayers” and allowed science to “save the day,” allowing the nation and the world to return to “business as usual.” “Normality” will once again reign. But only for a season. Why? Because what the church, the nation and the world call “normality,” God calls “rebellion.” As goes the church, so goes the nation. Satan has deceived the church into believing that, due to Adam’s miracle, her sinning is as normal as her heart beating. In fact, church doctrine states, Christians can only stop sinning when their hearts stop beating. But not to worry, Jesus–the Great Sin Eraser–has it all covered. As one preacher said, we are not to worry about sin because, “God can’t see through the blood.” I would pray that He would have mercy on the church and the nation. But those days are past.

God has a variety of curses at His disposal which He pours out on those who refuse to obey His Holy Scriptures. Man’s sins prompt Him to periodically send such “woes” as sickness, disease, famine, drought, flooding, freezing, fire, war, tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, racial tensions, poverty, homelessness, invasion, etc. upon sinners, including those who claim to be “saved by grace.” I recently saw a police mug shot of a woman between whose displayed breasts hung a cross. Another sinner saved by grace had a cross tattooed on his forehead. Truly, Christianity isn’t what God designed it to be.

In his unending quest for self-satisfaction, man has developed a “normalcy bias.” This bias causes him to seek comfort and to do whatever it takes to make comfort his “normal” lifestyle. Sinning makes him comfortable; holiness makes him uncomfortable. For this reason he rejects God’s command for holiness, as well as those who remind him of God’s command. God’s Word is His sword with which He reveals to man his sinful condition. In order to maintain a comfortable life man must reject God’s sword. Therefore he hires religious leaders who will assure him that his comfort is ordained by God. Adam and Eve felt comfortable after being assured that they could eat the forbidden fruit and “… not surely die,” meaning that the wages of their rebellion would be eternal life. The modern church has embraced the same lie spoken by the same Serpent. His modern messengers preach new and improved “truths” (church doctrines) which make God’s Truth obsolete.

If the Bible can be believed, churchman’s obedience to those “truths” will cause Jesus to reject those who obey them on the Day of Judgment (Mat. 15:8,9; 7:23/ Lk. 13:23-27). Not so, we are told from pulpit and podium. Rebellion against God is man’s “normal.” Therefore, man’s (including churchman’s) “normal” is a curse in the making. We can only guess in what form the Lord’s next “woe” will come. L.J.
