Through the Prophet Amos God issued a decree that, because of her lawlessness (iniquity) both ancient Israel and modern Israel (U.S., Britain and the Jewish nation) will suffer His wrath.  One of the punishments He will inflict on those nations is detailed in Amos 8:11,12: “‘Behold, the days come,'” says the Lord God, “‘when I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but a famine of HEARING THE WORD OF THE LORD.’  The three modern Israelite nations will wander from place to place seeking the Word of the Lord, but to no avail.  They “WILL NOT FIND IT.'”

One will note that in the Holy Bible the word “hear” relative to God’s Word is normally used instead of the word “read.”  This is because anciently the vast majority of people were illiterate.  They could learn God’s Word only by hearing it read in the Temple or in the local synagogues.  This is why people were surprised that Jesus, a lowly carpenter, “knew letters”–could read and understand the Scriptures.

Why, we must ask, will a time come on the earth when one will not be able to hear or read God’s Word?  I have maintained for many years that a day is coming when the Bible, along with all symbols and personages associated with the Book will be outlawed in the United States.  Prayer has been removed from public schools.  Bibles are not allowed in many places.  All references to the Bible and its God are being removed from government property.  While the words of Mohammad are being memorized in public schools, God’s Word cannot be spoken.  School children are given time and space to pray to Allah during the day while any reference to the Bible is prohibited.

We are being told that “Words are weapons.”  We have “hate crime” laws that are at present not broadly used.  I predict that this will change.  There is a sign on a building belonging to the college where I once taught that says “Only Jesus Saves.”  A day is coming when that sign, along with all other such signs, will be forcefully and legally removed.  Political Correctness will one day rule in all areas of life, including the spiritual realm. Any reference to the Biblical God will be labeled “hate speech.”  However, in my opinion a day is soon coming when Democrats will occupy all three houses of government.  When they have total power, and they will have such power, the Bible will be outlawed throughout the land.  Bible burnings will become common.  This will be the case in all “Christian nations.”  Then will come the Great Tribulation followed by the Day of the Lord.  In my opinion, when people see these things beginning to take place, it is then that God’s Amos 8:11,12 prophecy will come to fruition.

When the Antichrist arises and the world breaks forth in World War III; when the False Prophet, backed by the world-ruling Beast gains control of all religion; when the so-called Christian nations realize that the rapture was a Satanic hoax; when church people realize that what those crazy Law-keeping Bible thumpers told them was true, they will “… RUN TO AND FRO SEEKING THE WORD OF THE LORD, BUT WILL NOT FIND IT.”  Why?  Because all Bibles will have been burned and His people will have been taken to their place of safety God has prepared for them.  People will go from place to place, person to person seeking what is not available.  Starving for God’s Truth, they will not “hear” it because it has been removed.  AND GOD WILL DO THE REMOVING.  Just as He sent the Assyrians and Babylonians to defeat and enslave ancient Israel, so He will do to modern Israel, and for the same reason–REJECTION OF HIS TRUE GOSPEL and acceptance of Satan’s false gospel (Gal. 1:6-9).  This time He will use liberals to deliver His wrath on rebellious America, Britain and the Middle-eastern Jews.

I have stated several times that if one wants to commit spiritual suicide, God will provide the tree, the rope and the stool.  Church people have rejected His Word and embraced Satan’s word.  Therefore God will remove His Word from their midst and will use Satan’s people to do it.  There will come a time–AGAIN–when owning a Bible, or even listening to someone read from a Bible will be a capital offense.  See Simon of Samaria: the Legacy and The Mark of the Beast.  During the Catholic Inquisition that was the rule of the church which was enforced by the Roman Empire.  That same church (2nd Beast–Rev. 13:11-17), now called Catholic, and that same empire (1st Beast–Rev. 13:4-10), now called the European Union, will enforce that same law as proclaimed in Revelation 13:16,17.  Only those bearing the “mark of the beast” will be able to buy or sell.

This is when those who have spent their lives in church hearing and believing what their false prophets have taught them, who rejected God’s Truth and embraced Satan’s truth will realize that they had rejected the “Bread of Life”–Jesus Christ–on whose Word they refused to dine.  Though they will run hither, thither and yon in search of His Truth, not so much as a crumb will be found.  L.J.
