Relative to the sinner-sin Separation Syndrome, the following questions must be presented in the interest of Bible Truth: What does God say about the sinner-sin connection? Does He separate them? When the “sinner saved by grace” continues to sin, as we are told we must due to Adam’s fall, does the Lord blame the sin, the sinner or Adam? Does His love for the church sinner and the death of Jesus Christ automatically nullify his/her repeated sins? Operating on the premise that some readers believe what God wrote in His Holy Bible, the Scriptures will be used to answer the above-stated questions.
Let us begin with the ultimate statement relative to the assignment of guilt when a church member sins: “The soul that sins, that soul dies” (Eze 18:21,24). One will note that there is no mention of one’s standing in the church, temple, synagogue, religious community, etc. The use of the plural form–“sins”–indicates repeated sinning, which we are told by church leaders is our inherited nature. See Human Nature. The New Testament counterpart to the Ezekiel 18 passage is found in Romans 3:23: “For the wages of sin is death” for the church member who continues to do what Satan has supposedly programmed him/her to do–sin. Note that Paul is writing to and about the church. In summary:WHERE THERE IS NO SIN THERE IS NO DEATH. CONTINUED SIN RESULTS IN THE DEATH OF THE SINNER. THEREFORE, THE “SINNER SAVED BY GRACE” AND HIS/HER SINS ARE INSEPARABLE–THE “SAVED” SOUL THAT SINS, THAT SOUL WILL DIE.
Which presents the question: What is sin? The answer if found in 1 John 3:4: “To transgress (break) the Law is sin; for sin is the transgression of the Law.” In a general sense, everything God wrote in His Holy Bible is Law. Therefore, in order to inherit eternal life we must believe and obey what He wrote. This fact is further brought out in John 12:48 where He tells us that we will all be judged by what He wrote. The ultimate lesson to be learned is that the true, God-commanded Christian walk is a true reflection of His Spirit-inspired Word. The true God-seeker will learn, believe and obey that Word and will therefore inherit eternal life. Those who believe that sin is inevitable due to Adam’s sin, but that the fix is in due to Christ’s death have believed Satan’s lie, and will suffer accordingly. To be continued. L.J.
