The Bible: God’s Instrument Of Correction (cont. 2)

The subject being discussed is Biblically-dictated correction of spiritual error by those who know, believe and obey the Holy Scriptures. Those possessing the necessary characteristics are extremely few in number, which explains why there is so very little correction taking place in professing Christendom, which explains why the professing church, having passed through the wide gate, is still strolling along Satan’s wide way to destruction. (Mat. 7:13,14). This language is raw, but not as raw as the Holy Bible.

I have been accused of not loving people because I state God’s Word with unwavering force. Which means I do not practice Religious Correctness. I am not interested in people’s feelings or self-esteem. That is the domain of church hirelings who are paid to scratch their parishioners’ itching ears and stroke their sensitive egos. That walk is easy and profitable. I refuse to walk that walk. Here is why. The church (Catholicism/Protestantism) is like a herd of lemmings following their false prophets toward Satan’s light just beyond a distant cliff. Rushing blindly toward it, they do not know that at the foot of that cliff lies the Lake of Fire. Let us symbolize Satan’s church path as a highway and the Lake of Fire as a bridge that has been swept away by floodwaters and a driver as a church parishioner. If I am the driver and someone is standing beside the highway waving at me I will pay him little, if any, attention. However, if he is in the middle of the highway, jumping up and down, waving his arms and yelling, “STOP! BRIDGE OUT AHEAD” I will stop and check out what he is saying. I am the Lord’s jumper/waver/screamer. I tell people in no uncertain terms that they are headed toward disaster and must stop and turn around in order to avoid death. Unfortunately, few pay me any mind. And of those who do, only a few believe what I am saying. And of those who believe God’s Word, only a few reverse course. In the county in which I live, I know of only one man that believes God’s Word and is obeying it. In other words, the Church of Henderson County, Texas consists of two people. Which comes as no surprise in that Jesus said that where two are gathered together in His name, He is there. Recall that He said only a “few” would “find” His church, and having found it, would “strive” to enter it. The county church meets on Saturday morning in my office in Athens. Because I have been writing articles in the local newspaper for over a decade, most people know who I am. For that reason my life is quite solitary. Fortunately, God arranged for me to be the only child of a farming family that lived quite a distance from the nearest neighbors. I grew up alone, which prepared me for this ministry. My solitary life also gave me much time alone with God. Enough, probably too much, about me.

Anyone who has the temerity to correct a churchite can expect rejection of the Word he/she speaks, which means automatic rejection of the God who wrote it (Jn. 12:44-50). As previously stated, no one enjoys being corrected. Most will reject the correction. Some will even hate the one God has sent to correct him/her. If used by God to correct others, the correcter will quickly learn that the more religious the correctee, the greater the resistance to the correction–ministers being the most resistant. To be continued. L.J.
