It’s all about words. Everything man knows about God the Father, God the Son and their Holy Spirit (power) he knows through God’s Words as printed in His Holy Bible. The Bible came about when holy men of God spoke as they were moved upon by His Holy Spirit (2 Pet. 1:21). Through His Spirit God placed His Words into their hearts (minds). They then spoke what they thought. Their words were then recorded by their scribes (personal secretaries) for all men for all time. We are told that what is in our hearts goes public by what we say. Our thoughts are supremely powerful. They are formed either by God or by Satan. We are what we think about. We speak what we are. OUR WORDS REVEAL WHAT AND WHO WE ACTUALLY ARE. Having dealt with people suffering from mental problems I find it interesting that they often say things that they would never have said when they were in control of their mental faculties. Relatives and friends of such people are often amazed to hear vile statements flow from their lips. The fact is that those words, in the form of thoughts, had been in their minds all along. They had been able to control what they said so that their thoughts remained a secret. Mental illness removes the “brakes,” allowing their secret thoughts to escape. People are often astonished to find that a “godly saint” they had known all their lives was neither godly nor a saint.

The Ultimate Pharisee named Saul (Paul) was experiencing a dramatic change of heart as he lay in the dust of the Damascus Road, blind and helpless. His thoughts formed the words: “Who are you, Lord?” which he spoke. Paul suddenly found himself in another world. His previous world came crashing down when the One he was addressing responded: “I am Jesus Whom you persecute ….” Paul was carrying on a conversation with a dead man. I cannot imagine what went through his mind when he learned that the Man he had hated above all others, Whom he had watched die on a cross was in fact the very God he thought he had been serving throughout his life. The supposed dead Man continued: “It is hard for you to persecute Me.” This statement astonished and terrified the famous Pharisee as the following verse attests. The past unboubtedly came flooding through Paul’s mind: He was the man; he made his own rules; he needed no Jew’s permission to do anything. Paul was God’s #1 destroyer of Christians. He had personally been appointed the task of destroying the cult. Paul “knew” who and what God had called him to be and to do. Let us be perfectly clear about this: PAUL “KNEW” THAT BY IMPRISONING AND KILLING CHRISTIANS HE WAS PLEASING GOD. HE “KNEW” THAT HE WAS RIGHT. HE FELT GOOD, RIGHTEOUS, HOLY AND CLOSE TO GOD AS HE WATCHED THE LORD’S ENEMIES BEING FED TO THE LIONS FOR PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENT. But what Paul “knew” were truths from God were in reality lies from Satan.

The same holds true within the hearts of Paul’s religious descendants. Over two billion church people alive today are absolutely positive that they are serving the Biblical God by involving themselves in Catholicism/Protestantism. They “know” in their hearts that He is pleased with them for believing and obeying the dictates of their church fathers. Conversely, self-proclaimed Christians “know” that those who believe and obey the Bible as written are nothing more than misguided heretics whose theology is of Satan. THE COUNTERFEIT CHURCH “KNOWS” THAT SHE IS IN THE CENTER OF GOD’S WILL. But like Saul of Tarsus SHE IS DEAD WRONG.

What religious man claims to “know in my heart,” if it does not line up with God’s Holy Scriptures, is what God calls “darkness.” And because this darkness (church doctrine) is put forth as God’s light, He calls it “great darkness” (Mat. 6:23). Religious “men love darkness more than light because their deeds are evil” (Jn. 3:19). No one hates God’s light more than the darkness-loving parishioners of professing Christendom. If you doubt this, try telling a “good Christian” what God actually says in His Word, then observe his/her reaction to both you and God’s Truth. Hell hath no fury like a spiritual giant who has been exposed as a religious pigmy. L.J.
