The Apostle Jude has reminded the New Testament Church about THE COMMON SALVATION provided ty the Lord which was based on THE FAITH ONCE DELIVER to them. He then warned those who called themselves by the Lord’s name that there were those among them whose Satan-ordered agenda was to destroy the Church of God by convincing her to believe and obey a false gospel which the Apostle Paul called a “perverted gospel.” This meant that the “angel of light’s” ” ministers of righteousness” were putting forth just enough of the true gospel to deceive the people into believing that the rest of what they taught was equally true. This process was possible only because Satan had convinced the people not to question these church leaders, that God Himself had ordained them and therefore they were operating in obedience to Him. This deadly attitude prevents church people from studying the Scriptures for Truth in these end times. Just as Satan convinced Adam and Eve to take his word for all things spiritual, his modern day prophets keep the people ignorant of God’s Truth.

Verse 5: Here Jude reminds the church that they had been taught from childhood that the Lord (the Word Who became Jesus of Nazareth) had led the people of Israel out of Egyptian slavery and then killed off those who did not believe His Words. Today He continues to point billions of people to the way out of slavery to Satan. However, the unchangeable god will destroy those who do not believe His Holy Word.

Verses 6-8: In this segment Jude reminds the people that God killed off an entire generation of Israelites, then dealt the same way with the angels who rebelled against Him, some of whom are held in chains in utter darkness where they will remain until the day of their judgment. Having addressed the angel situation, Jude then discusses God’s condemnation of homosexuals, whom He calls “fornicators,” because of their lust for “strange” (same sex) flesh. What we must remember is that sin is sin in the eyes of God. Homosexuality is sin just as is adultery, theft, lying, rape, etc. The wages of (every, each, all) sin is death (Rom. 6:23). In these verses Jude has shown God’s condemnation for Israelites, angels and sexual deviates. In that Gentiles (Heb.–heathen) are sinners by definition, he did not need to be singled out for recognition relative to God’s vengeance. In verse 8 Jude, writing under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, refers back to the false prophets mentioned in verse 4, calling them filthy dreamers. In verse 10 he compares them brute beasts who have corrupted themselves.

Verse 11: In this verse the apostle focuses on three of the false prophets’ sins by equating them to other Biblical figures: Cain, Balaam and Core. We will briefly review the primary sins of these three sinners which will give us further insight into the character and agenda of Satan’s counterfeit prophets whose descendants continue to lead the Counterfeit Church to embrace the counterfeit gospel which results in the counterfeit salvation offered by Satan–modern Christendom’s counterfeit god. I will now summarize the primary sin of each of the afore-mentioned men. Doing so will show that the goals of modern day false prophets are the same as those in days of old.

Cain defied the Almighty by presenting to Him a less-than-acceptable offering. Whereas Abel gave Him the very best of what he had worked to attain, Cain gave the Lord what was handy and virtually worthless. Because of this God cast him away from His presence.

Balaam wanted to serve God, but demanded payment for doing so. He was later killed by the Israelites, the same people God forced him to bless.

Core (Korah) defied God by refusing to acknowledge God’s choice to lead Israel–Moses. Declaring himself to be as righteous as God’s man, he refused to appear before him when commanded to do so. God opened the earth and swallowed up Korah and those who followed him.

Modern day false prophets operate as did their ancient spiritual ancestors. They do and preach their version of truth; they would not minister without being paid; and they refuse to acknowledge God’s chosen ministers. L.J.
