In Isaiah 10:6 God is addressing the tribes of Israel then living in the Holy Land.  What He says to them through the Prophet Isaiah reveals His flaming anger toward them because they have rebelled against Him.  His outburst against the Israelites of that day was uttered as a warning not only to the Israelites of that day, but also to the modern day nation of Israel–the United States, Britain and the Jews of the Middle East: “I will send him (“the rod of My anger”) against an hypocritical nation and against the people of my wrath (Israel).  I will give him (a nation) a charge (assignment) to take the spoil (goods) and to take the prey (the people), to tread them down like mire of the streets.”  Recall the Apostle Paul’s statement that God’s dealings with ancient Israel were written and preserved to serve as instructions (warnings) to the New Testament Church–“we upon whom the ends of the world have come” (1 Cor. 10:11).  Recall also that “All (Old Testament) Scripture is written by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” (2 Tim. 3:16).  At the time Paul made that statement the New Testament did not exist, and would not exist for some 40 years.

As with many of God’s prophesies, this foretelling of the future has a double meaning relative to time and place.  God designed His prophecies so that one manifestation of them would come to pass within a certain number of years of His proclamation of them through His prophets.  Then later, at the end of the age, He would once again manifest them.  He sent the rod of His anger to destroy, defeat and enslave the ten tribes of Israel in 722 B.C. in fulfillment of the Isaiah 10 prophecy which He gave in approximately 1000 B.C.  In the last days He will use the same “rod” to punish the descendants of those who felt His wrath the first time, AND FOR THE SAME REASON–SIN–the breaking of His Law (1 Jn. 3:4).

His wrath is justified.  Lawlessness abounds in the United States, Britain and among the Jews in the Middle East while the people of these nations claim to be God’s people, claim to believe Him and look to Him for their eternal salvation.  The United States has the audacity to continue to print IN GOD WE TRUST on her currency.  Throughout the nations of modern Israel millions of crosses hang from necks and ear lobs, are tattooed on body parts, stand in yards, on the dash boards, car bumpers and extend from tens of thousands of steepled buildings.  The audacity of such hypocrisy is an affront to Almighty God.  As is the fact that hundreds of thousands of such Satan-serving citadels dot the global landscape.  The Lord’s Word is the God-rejecting world’s best selling Book.   But God is not impressed.  He is angry at those hypocritical nations that have the temerity to call themselves by His name while rejecting what He tells them in the Book they all carry to church on Satan’s sabbath.  As He did centuries ago, He is about to send the abomination of desolation to punish those backslidden people.  Jesus Himself warned that the end time curse will be many times worse than its first manifestation (Mat. 24:21).  He warned that the world has never seen anything like what is about to come upon her, that the combination of all of the punishments His Father has poured out on His Israelite nations throughout the years will not equal what He and Satan will inflict on them in the final 2 1/2 years of this world–the Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord.

This soon-to-arrive time of terror and suffering will take place with the opening of the seven seals (Rev. 5-11) of the book written by the Prophet Daniel (Dan. 12:4).  Weeping and gnashing of teeth will be the order of the day (vs 51).  Men will want to die but death will not come.  Physical and mental terror will strike the inhabitants of the earth.  People will hide in caves and pray to the rocks to fall on them, to “… hide us from the face of Him that sits on the throne (God) and from the wrath of the Lamb (Christ).  For the great DAY OF THE LORD (the final year) has come, and who will be able to stand?” (Rev. 6:15-17).  Once again God will use the “abomination of desolation” to bring His prophecy to fruition.

So who is the abomination that causes world desolation?  Who is the rod of God’s anger whom He sent against the Israelites of old and will soon send against their descendants–the modern nations of Israel (the United States, Britain and the Jewish nation)?  To answer this question concerning the future, we must look to the past.  Scripture records that it was the Assyrians whom God raised up to conquer, slaughter, defeat and enslave the ancient Israelites.  History records that those Assyrians, the most cruel and powerful people on earth at that time, later migrated into Europe and became the people known today as Germans (“war man”).  The descendants of those Germans, having embraced the Catholic religion, became known as the Holy Roman Empire in 554 A.D.  That war-hungry nation has a history of conquering nations and ruling over their captives with an iron fist, the holocaust being a modern day example.  That blood-thirsty nation started two world wars in living memory resulting the deaths of tens of millions of people.  That “holy” empire has been the most destructive and deadly state in the history of mankind.

And the worst is yet to come.  God has poured out His wrath on this evil world, calling her to repent and turn to Him in obedience to His Word.  But to no avail.  Man, including religious man, continues to sow the wind.  His whirlwind is on the way.  Codis-19 is simply the latest woe in God’s arsenal of wrath.  The modern Israelite nations will bear the brunt of His anger because they deliberately failed in their commission to set the standard of holiness for the heathen masses to see and follow.  “Unto whom much is given, much is required” (Lk. 12:48).  They were given much and of them was much required.  They failed to meet God’s requirements.  And now they must pay the price of spiritual failure.  And the Assyrians (Germans) will again lead the charge.  As she has done several times before, this murderer of millions will once again bring about devastation and death to those who oppose her.

Following the second world war the leaders of two of the victorious nations–Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt– declared that it was their intention to “… destroy German militarism and Nazism and to ensure that Germany will never again be able to disturb the peace of the world.  We are determined to disarm and disband all German Armed Forces, break up the German General (military) Staff that has repeatedly contrived the resurgence of German militarism, remove or destroy all German military equipment, eliminate or control all German industry that could be used for military production.  It is not our purpose to destroy the people of Germany.  But only when Nazism and militarism have been extirpated will there be hope for a decent life for Germans and a place for them in the community of nations.”  Churchill and Roosevelt noted that Germany (ancient Assyria) had “repeatedly contrived the resurgence of German militarism.”

But since the final days of World War II the Germans have been planning to try for world domination once again if they  lost that war.  This was brought out in a document secretly delivered to the Allied forces after the war.  The document contained the minutes of a meeting held by a group of German industrialists during which they discussed how they would keep the dream of German empiricism alive in the future.  The document was classified in 1945.  Fifty years later it was made public.  Little attention was paid to its horrific message, which I have read.  The Germans, under the influence of the Catholic Church, comprised the Holy Roman Empire of old which shed so much blood throughout Europe.  Today the Fourth Reich is taking shape and will quickly rise to military and economic heights long thought impossible.  It is prophesied that during the end times she will “cut off nations, not a few” (Isa. 10:7).  Assyria/Germany/the abomination of desolation/the Beast of Revelation will once again rise, and this time at the head of a ten-nation military giant that will destroy the modern nations of Israel–for starters.  This seemingly unstoppable, German-led war machine will once again plunge the world into war.  And, as in days of old, it will be THE BIBLICAL GOD Who is directing them to do so, AND FOR THE SAME REASON.

The abomination of desolation is the final (fourth) beast seen by the Prophet Daniel (ch. 7) who, upon seeing it, was amazed, causing him to write that the vision caused him to be “grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body and the visions of my head troubled me” (Dan. 7:15).  That same beast was shown to the Apostle John as recorded in Revelation 17.  In John’s vision there was a woman sitting on the beast holding a cup filled with the blood of God’s saints.  This woman is the Catholic Church which martyred at least 50,000,000 people during her long and deadly Inquisition, many of them God’s people.  This “whore,” which will be joined by her “harlot (Protestant) daughters” (Rev. 17:1-5), will sit astride (control) the Beast of the Great Tribulation that will “cut off nations, not a few,” including the nations of modern Israel.  See Simon of Samaria: the Legacy and The Ingathering: the Rise of the End-time Church.

Today the twice-defeated and destroyed nation of Germany is leading what is called the European Union, a multi-nation  economic and military machine that will once again sink the world into war in the near future.  At present there are more than ten nations in the E.U.  The Scriptures tell us that this numerical construct will change.  In the end the regime (Beast) will consist of ten nations, or groups of nations, each led by a “king” (president, prime minister, etc.).  The leader of the regime will be Germany as the Holy Roman Empire will once again raise its ugly head.  Revelation 13 tells us that the Beast will be empowered by the dragon (Satan).  In that same chapter is mentioned another beast, a religious leader who will cause all people to worship the first beast/abomination (vss 11-17).  No one should be surprised that Catholicism is the official religion of the E.U.

That “holy church,” using the might of the Roman Empire, killed some 50,000,000 innocent souls during her Inquisition.  She will once again use the mighty Germans/Assyrians to kill those who oppose her religious dictates.  Millions more will die at her hands in the future.  Let us not forget the reason God is once again raising up the Assyrians to destroy and enslave modern Israel.  Like their ancient parents, she has rejected the Biblical God in favor of the heathen gods of Catholicism/Protestantism.  God does not change, nor does His wrath diminish.  As I have stated before, Leviticus 26 and Deuteronomy 28 were written to two eras of the same people–Israel.  What is written therein applied to ancient Israel as well as modern Israel.  Please read those chapters carefully and prayerfully.  L.J.
