Though I would never compare myself to the Prophet Jeremiah, there are times when I am tempted to indulge in a moment of self-pity and commission-doubting as did he while lamenting to the Lord that the people were not listening to him and questioning the need to continue warning them. I’m sure the “weeping prophet,” a.k.a. the “prophet of doom” wondered if what he was doing had any value. He and his message were so despised that, not only were the people ignoring him, they wanted to kill him. God’s response to his statements was brief and to the point: “Spine up and tell them anyway.” Jeremiah, a prime example of grace under fire, a.k.a. “courage,” went back to work. Like trying to drive a nail into steel, God’s hated messenger kept pounding away at Israel, warning them that they had sown the wind and would eventually reap the whirlwind if they stayed the course.
Lesson received (again), I will continue warning “the church” that God’s wrath against her is building, and that her only hope for salvation is to turn, be converted, disassociate herself from Satan’s church system (Catholicism/Protestantism), embrace the Lord and obey His Word. That said, I will now address a subject that the Counterfeit Church totally misunderstands, an error that Satan has deceived her into embracing that prevents her from hearing God’s Truth and believing it–Spiritual Warfare.
I’m sure that, like me, most of you were taught from early on that God Himself is engaged in a war with Satan himself for the souls of men. Wrong. The spiritual warfare graphically described in the Holy Bible is not taking place between God and Satan, but between their proxies. A proxy is one who operates on behalf of a superior entity. Such a one has authority to use that entity’s power to accomplish his stated goal. In other words, the proxy is the superior entity’s Agent In Place. In the case of The War of Professing Christendom, the conflict is between those few souls comprising the Church of God (God’s proxies) and the masses who inhabit the Church of Satan (Satan’s proxies). Recall that the Lord sent out only 13 proxies (“sheep”) to do battle with Satan’s millions (“wolves”). Recall also that it was men, not Satan himself, who killed all of the apostles except John, whom he had placed on the prison island called Patmos. It was also men who killed Jesus Christ. It is true that our war is against Satan. However, we go “spirit versus spirit” with his proxies–“the church.” If you do not believe that professing Christendom is God’s enemy, try obeying Him. So-called “Christians” will come against you with all the power that Satan can legally muster. As Jesus warned, they will hate you, despise you and say all manner of evil against you for His name’s sake (Mat. 5:11). For this reason He warns anyone thinking about following Him to count the cost (Lk. 14:28), for having put his hand to the plow, if he looks back (have second thoughts), he will be unfit for the Kingdom of God (Lk. 9:62).
Having been defeated by Jesus on the cross, Satan comes against God’s people using his human proxies–the billions that comprise Catholicism/Protestantism–to rebuff God’s people in terms of persecution, rejection, ostracism, etc. He will even use the saint’s family against him (Mat. 10:36). Having failed in his original mission, the devil uses his proxies to do what he failed to do. The result is that 99% of mankind unwittingly recognize him as their god. His success becomes obvious when one observes the myriad of different sects, cults, churches, denominations, etc. that litter the world’s religious landscape. Some of these religious organizations call themselves by such names as Islam, Hinduism, etc. Some people do not see these religions for what they are due to ignorance of the true God and His Way. Others know about the true God but prefer other gods instead. The goals, doctrines and methods of these religions are never mistakenly called “Christian” in that they make no claim to being followers of the Biblical God.
However, there is other religious entity that is much more dangerous and insidious in that, while calling themselves “the church,” professing the Biblical God and claiming to believe and obey His Word, they in reality have no place in His family–His church. Having assumed the “Christian” label, they have spread their spiritual darkness throughout the world where unsuspecting victims hear their “Christian” pitch and, lacking knowledge of God’s Word, gravitate to it. Today, billions of people world-wide falsely claim the title of “Christian” based on the “Christian” belief system that was presented to them by Satan’s proxies. Many of them are lured into his church through his Bait and Switch ruse. See the postings by that name.
Spiritual warfare began in Eden when Satan enticed Adam and Eve to reject God as the determiner of Truth and to assume that power for themselves. In reality, Satan became the arbiter of good and evil; he simply allowed his two converts to believe that they would thereafter be in charge of determining right and wrong. Since the episode in Eden, only one thing has changed. Now when religious man changes God’s rules of engagement he claims that God approves of the changes. In “the church,” the religious tail wags the religious dog. Accordingly, Adam and Eve’s religious descendants have turned every conflict between God’s Word/Truth (Jn. 17:17) and Satan’s doctrines into a loss for God and a victory for the devil. Whatever Satan’s proxies determine to be the truth is supposedly rubber-stamped by God. See the Introduction to the website and Satan’s Sex Saturation for examples of this.
In Eden, Satan could not force Adam and Eve to reject God and obey him; he could only persuade them to do so. The same holds true today–he can only persuade man to obey him–sin is a choice. To accomplish his goal of being god to the masses, the devil uses his proxies–false prophets and their followers–to entice God-seekers to embrace him. While so-called “Christians” are his individual soldiers, the church is his weapon of mass destruction. His ammunition is a perverted gospel which scratches man’s itching ears–words described by God as “smooth things, lies and deceits” (Isa. 30:10). To be continued. L.J.
