In the first part of the Spiritual Seed teaching the Lord stressed the importance of quality relative to the seed used in the salvation production process. His Word, and only His Word, is the seed man must use in the harvest of souls that He has called for. Recall in the parable of the tares that an enemy had sneaked into the field and planted bad seed (church doctrine–tares) among the wheat. Also note who allowed that to happen–watchmen–false prophets/hirelings/cowards who had been asleep when they should have been awake to the enemies intentions.
Relative to the church (wheat field) the enemy’s messengers had preached their false “truths” (doctrines) which offer salvation seekers a better (easier, more user-friendly) way supposedly into “heaven.” For this reason the Apostle Paul tells us in Second Corinthians 6:14-7:1 to come out of the church system and have nothing more to do with it. The entire counterfeit church/false prophet situation revolves around THE DEADLY SEED (TRUTHS) THAT HAS BEEN PLANTED GENERATION AFTER GENERATION IN THE HEARTS (MINDS) OF CHURCH PEOPLE FOR ALMOST 2000 YEARS.
The spread of Satan’s diseased seeds (false “truths”–church doctrines) has grown consistently more wide-spread, more appealing, more addictive and more deadly as the end of the world approaches. Paul, who received His Gospel from Jesus Christ Himself through revelation (Gal. 1:12) spoke to this Truth as recorded in Second Thessalonians 2:3 where he warns that the end of the world will not come until there is a “great falling” away from God by the church. The expression “falling away” is the word “apostasy” in the Greek language in which the New Testament was written. Notice that he said it would be a “GREAT” falling away.
From the early days of the church some of those within her began to fall away from the Lord as Satan’s bad seeds (words/”truths” took root and began to reproduce ever more heresy and error. Read Galatians 1:6-9 which was written between 48 and 58 A.D. during the first generation of her existence. With the deaths of the original apostles, the Holy seed (Word) began to fade from the scene and to be replaced by unholy seed. By 150 A.D. the vast majority of those calling themselves Christians were hearing and obeying Satan’s false Gospel. God’s Truth was being embraced by only a tiny remnant of believers. No matter the times or the spiritual condition of the church, God has always had a tiny remnant of true believers. Today they number a few thousand world-wide. Scriptures reveal that at the time of Christ’s return they will number 10,000 (Jude 1:14). These will be those who have risen to meet Him in the clouds upon His Second Advent (first resurrection–the Resurrection of the Firstfruits) and have descended with Him to the Mt. of Olives. Read The Kingdom of God. key word–Kingdom. Now back to the focal subject.
The apostacy of the church continued until the mid-1950s when God raised up a man named Herbert Armstrong who brought the true Word/seed back to the world’s attention. I was about 15 years old the first time I saw him on television. God spoke to me as I stood in my uncle’s living room listening to him. Through the Holy Spirit the Lord said: “Listen to him; he is important.” It was from him that I was introduced to the Truth and God’s “fine print” which He would later commission me to preach and write. This website is the product of that call from on high. Through Mr. Armstrong the Lord raised up a world-wide, Truth-centered church known as The World-wide Church of God which spread God’s Truth globally as Jesus said would take place in Matthew 24:14. When he died the church he had pastored returned to the world. Except for a tiny remnant of true believers, of which I am a part. Since then the apostasy (falling away) of the church Paul prophesied about has continued and expanded.
As a reminder concerning some of my previous teachings, God’s promises to those who prove their love for Him by obeying His Ten Commandment Law (Jn. 14:15; 15:10; 1 Jn. 2:3-5) are what I call His “headlines.” One of the church’s favorite “headline” is: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved, along with your household.” His “fine print” relative to His “headlines” consists of the conditions that must be met in order to receive the promises. However, they can only be found in His Holy Scriptures through much study as dictated in Isaiah 28:9-13 which reveals the method of Bible study necessary in order to receive His “Headlines.” These are repeatedly voiced by preachers and laity alike. However, I can’t recall ever hearing one of His “fine print” conditions mentioned. Satan’s counterfeit condition is always mentioned. It consists of one word: “believe.”
For a good look at both His “headlines” and His “fine print” read Deuteronomy 28. Study it with great care. Take note of the fact that His promises are accompanied by His conditions that must be met in order to receive them. READ THE ENTIRE CHAPTER. I have found that people stop reading after verse 14. Satan has convinced them that, because they are supposedly “saved,” His promises are automatically theirs. Then they wonder why the promises do not materialize. They do not realize that verses 1-14 do not apply to them because they do not meet the Lord’s requirements. They are led to believe that the rest of the chapter does not apply to them because they have “taken Jesus as their Savior.” Everyone knows and loves the “headlines.” Everyone rejects the “fine print.” I have found that the vast majority of church people do not know they exist, and resent it when they are made known to them. I call this mindset “selective faith.”
Having rejected most of God’s Words, which consists largely of the Lord’s “fine print,” church people are proclaiming that they reject (“despise”) Him and His Son (Lk. 10:16). When they are shown these Truths they reject those Truths, their Authors and the one who revealed them. Truth rejecters are those who preach the bad seed as well as those who believe and obey what they hear from the pulpit. Jesus described them as “the blind leading the blind,” both of whom “fall into the (religious) ditch” dug by God’s ultimate enemy–Satan (Mat. 15:14). That ditch is the Catholic/Protestant Religious System described in Revelation 17:1-5 that will one day soon have the entire world under her control.
I will close this segment with several statements made by John in his Gospel that proclaim God’s attitude toward false Christianity which is founded on Satan’s bad seed (words). I will simply state what is in each passage which normally does not need an explanation.
In John 6:32-58 Jesus calls Himself the “bread of life.” In verse 56 He maintains that only those who eat (learn and obey) Him (the Word–Jn. 1:1-4,14) will dwell in Him. The vast majority do not dine on His Word, though both groups are a part of that which calls itself “the church.” Read Who Are God’s People and “My People Who are Called by My Name.” Key words People and Called respectively. Jesus’ Words are the source of eternal life for those who consume them. In John 7:19 and 28 and 8:23 He says that the Word/seed/Law breakers in the Temple (church) do not know the true God. In 8:12 He says that those who obey His (God’s) Words have the light of life. In verse 23 and 24 He says that those who do not obey Him are “from hell,” are “of the world” and are “sinners.” In verses 34 through 37 He says that there is no place for His Word (Law) in the lives of sinners because Satan is their spiritual father (vss 41,44). Those who obey Satan dishonor Jesus (vs 48). In verse 55 Jesus tells us that He obeyed God’s Words. What more do we need to know? L.J.
