Spiritual Knowledge: What Is It? How Is It Attained? How Is It Retained? (Pt. 3)

The Almighty tells us that the only way to understand His doctrine is to be “weaned from the milk and drawn from the breast.”  Upon coming to Christ, we are all babes in need of spiritual “milk”–the ABC’s of the Christian walk.  God uses His ministry to feed newly called members of His spiritual family.  But in order to graduate from babyhood they must progress and grow spiritually.  The Lord’s ministers are also used in the maturing process in which church members are taught to do much of the learning on their own under the leadership of the Head of the Church–Jesus Christ.  This is the point at which Satan steps in and diverts church members off of God’s Kingdom-bound “track” and onto his (Satan’s) hell-bound track.  Because Satan’s church members are taught by leaders they themselves have chosen (some even have tryouts for a pastorate), they never realize that they have been “baited and switched.”  The candidates are rated relative to their adherence to denominational doctrines.  The best ear scratcher wins the job.  Read the series titled Bait and Switch.  Key word–Bait in order to learn how the devil pulls off the ruse without anyone ever knowing that it happened.

Following the switch, the switchee becomes institutionalized by conforming to the Serpent’s perverted gospel (Gal. 1:6-9) and is warned that to return to God’s track is to “fall from grace.”  According to “the church,” grace and works simply do not mix.  For this reason Martin Luther called the Book of James a “straw book,” meaning that it is good only for lighting fires, stuffing matrices, etc.  Why did Luther reject the Book of James?  Because James tells us God’s Truth about “works” and salvation.  Ninety-nine percent of professing Christians are on the devil’s all-grace-no works-come-as-you-are-stay-as-you-are track.  Each one believes that he/she has a mansion awaiting his/her arrival at heaven’s pearly gate.  Their god’s false prophets diligently and repeatedly instruct his victims in his you-want-it-you-got-it gospel.  Like Adam and Eve, they swallow his sin-and-win bait and, never having tasted the Lord’s obey-and-win fare, keep returning to Satan’s smorgasbord of heathen doctrines.  See the Introduction to this website for a list of such spiritual entrees.

Having lived most of my life as a member of Satan’s citadel of sin called “the church,” I am well aware of the pressure to conform to denominational doctrine and to reject anything that does not conform to the hundreds of different  denominational “truths” that are the exact opposite of God’s Scriptural Truth.  God’s “light” (the Holy Bible) is definitely off-limits to those in the counterfeit church’s various cults, faiths, sects, denominations, etc.  Saying or writing what God says in His Word will usually bring on a lecture about falling victim to Satan’s “wind of doctrine,” etc.  I was promptly “straightened out” by my deeply religious aunt when I pointed out some of the errors taught by her denomination from which I had departed upon being converted to true Christianity.  I have been an embarrassment to my loved ones ever since.

God is the perfect teacher of His Truth (Word–Jn. 17:17).  In order to be one with Him, to walk with Him and be led by Him we must be taught by Him.  This is our individual responsibility.  It is also the most wonderful experience known to man.  At times I get so deep into His teaching that I can hardly sleep.  I go to sleep yearning for morning to come when I can return to his “classroom.”  At times He even visits me in my sleep by sending me dreams that revolve around Scriptural Truths.  Admittedly, He also uses dreams to remind me of where I have wavered.

The closer one gets to the Master the more narrow His path becomes.  My path is so narrow that when I say even a word or think a thought that is not of Him He quickly brings it to my attention.  Truly, as Jesus said: “Unto whom much is given, much is required” (Lk. 12:48).  In Mark 4:24,25 He tells us that those who choose to hear ever more of His Words, more of them he will hear.  But we must be extremely careful relative to whose words we hear or read.  We are told in Jeremiah17:5 that we are under God’s curse if we follow the teachings of man.  God does use men to lead those who seek Him; but we are to follow such men only as they follow Him (1 Cor. 11;1).  The only way to know if a leader is following the Lord is to STUDY the Lord’s Word.  Only a minutely few men follow Christ’s Word as written.  None of those men are Catholic or Protestant.  Those organizations will not tolerate a true believer who speaks or writes God’s Truth as stated in His Holy Bible.  Many years ago after I had come to His Truth I was asked by my Sunday School class to teach the class.  One morning as I was preparing to go to a local cafe for mid-morning coffee with some friends God spoke to me, telling me that the pastor of the church, knowing that I would be there, would come to the cafe in order to tell me that I could not teach the class.  Why?  Because of my literal approach to the Bible.  When he arrived I told him why he was there and that I agreed with him.  There was no place for God’s Word in that denomination, or any denomination for that matter.  I soon left that train (church) and boarded God’s train. Those who remained on Satan’s train are headed straight to perdition unless they find God’s Truth, believe it and obey it.  At last count, those who are still alive are still addicted to “breast milk,” meaning that they are still among the walking dead.

We must understand that, just as He did with Jesus of Nazareth, God is recreating Himself in His Very Elect saints whom Christ will call to join Him when He orchestrates the first resurrection.  Read The Three Resurrections.  Key word–Resurrections.  God’s purpose is to create a family with whom He can live (walk) in harmony throughout eternity.  Two cannot walk together unless they agree (Amos 3:3).  Man is the most majestic creation of God.  He created man in His physical image and made it possible for him to share His mind, which is what Christ did (1 Cor. 2:16/ Phil. 2:5).  However, in order to recreate Himself in a man, He must control that man–totally and permanently.  Therein lies a problem that only a minutely few men choose to solve.  The cost of doing so is death–to self.

Extremely rare is the man who, like Jesus of Nazareth, is willing to relinquish to the Lord control over his thoughts, words and acts.  Pride is one of Satan’s most powerful “gifts” to mankind.  It is because of pride that man refuses to admit his error, repent of his sins, turn from his wicked ways and embrace God totally, thereby making himself a spiritual slave to the Almighty.  Those who refuse God’s offer can never know the joy that accompanies spiritual slavery to Him and His Son.  It is only through total enslavement that Father and Son can create their character in man.  Such character must be embraced and maintained to the end of life in order to qualify for a future life (Mat. 10:22).  I have been told that this is impossible, and that Jesus died so that we need only believe in Him to be saved.  Warning: beware of “only believe” prophets.  Following them places one under God’s curse (Jer. 17:5/ 1 Cor. 11:1).  L.J.
