Darkness hates light.  Light came into the world with the birth of Jesus of Nazareth (Mat. 4:16).  This light exposed the darkness in which man had been living for many generations.  Satan knew that the bearer of that light had to be eliminated.  Being unable to kill the child Jesus, Satan would try to destroy the church the Light would establish 31 years later.  However, Jesus stated that not even the “gates (powers) of hell would prevail against” His church (Mat. 16:18).

Satan hated the church God had established for he knew that those who believed and obeyed Him would not be subject to his (Satan’s) temptations.  Instead, they would receive power to walk in the holiness established by the man Jesus (1 Jn. 2:6) and would not be subject to his (Satan’s) temptations.  His self-appointed task was to entice God seekers to embrace his counterfeit religion while believing that they were serving the Biblical God.  Keeping them ignorant of God’s Truth was the key to victory.  History proves that he was not only right, but successful as well.

Following His resurrection the “great light” had commissioned 12 apostles to go into all the world and to make disciples like themselves.  They were to teach their disciples to believe and obey all the things He had taught them.  Those disciples would in turn make other disciples and teach them what they had been taught.  Each generation of disciples would follow this pattern until the end of the world (Mat. 24:14; 28:18-20).  God’s church (Mat. 7:13,14; 20:16) would consist of those who, “through the knowledge of God and  of the Lord Jesus Christ” would walk in “godliness” and in so doing would become “partakers of the divine nature.”  These saints (“holy ones”) would “escape the corruption that is in the world” (2 Peter 1:1-4), would be holy in all manner of life as He Who had called them was holy (as a man)–1 Pet. 1:15– and would “attain the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Eph. 4:13).

Satan knew that he could not deceive all of them.  So he did the next best thing: he would not allow such people to be seen and heard by the rest of the world.  He would attack them with everything in his spiritual arsenal in order to nullify their influence.  He would present them as ignorant, foolish people living in a state of religious confusion.  In this he was successful.

Knowing that man has a choice as to whom to believe and obey, Satan set out to provide a much easier, more choice-centered method of obtaining salvation than the strict, obedience-centered way of the Biblical God.  His efforts began with the establishment of a counterfeit church in Rome in 33 A.D.  This church provided an all-faith-no-works, come-as-you-are-stay-as-you-are formula for receiving salvation.  As an added bonus, salvation was awarded instantaneously upon the profession of faith in a false Christ who was the head of Satan’s false church system he had designed to meet the religious desires of all religious people.  This church was universal (“catholic”) in its appeal.  As history has shown, its appeal has been great.  Today some 2 1/2 billion people claim membership in one of its two major divisions.  Read Simon of Samaria: The Legacy.  Key word–Samaria.

In order for the counterfeit church to have any chance of overtaking God’s true church, she had to cancel the message proclaimed by His church.  Using the tried and true method established in the Garden of Eden, Satan used just enough of God’s Truth to convince the masses to ignore God’s Gospel and to embrace his more user-friendly version.  Jesus had warned about this ruse in Matthew 24:4,5.  His disciples were to pass along the warning from generation to generation.  However, over time Satan’s ministers proved to be much more popular than God’s ministers.  They eventually drew the vast majority of God seekers away from His no-option Truth by offering a smorgasbord style of religion that featured a take-what-you-want-and-ignore-the-rest selection of “truths.”

Eventually, the very lies Jesus warned people to reject became “Bible Truth” among church circles.  Satan’s spiritual holodomor had become “the Word of God.”  Within one hundred years of her establishment the counterfeit church had become so powerful that only a minutely few God seekers knew, believed and obeyed His Word.  The vast majority of professing Christians were blindly obeying the teachings of Satan’s false prophets.  His spiritual counter culture had accomplished his goal of nullifying and starving out God’s Word.  What began in Eden eventually encompassed the world.  God’s Truth had been replaced by whatever each segment of “the church” wanted the Truth to be.  Ironically, everyone in every group “knew” that they were serving the Biblical God according to His will.  Over the years their religious descendants, lacking Scriptural proof of their gospel “truths,” nevertheless “knew” their theology was the right because that’s what they had always been taught.  How much more proof does one need?

Nothing has changed.  Today, the same false gospels are being taught in the same false churches throughout the same false christendom.  Satan’s holodomor is still in effect and has proven to be extremely effective in that it has the vast majority of salvation seekers trapped in its deceptive web.  Satan has indeed deceived the whole world (Rev. 12:9).  Those who are deceived do not know they are deceived because they reject God’s proof of Satan’s deception.  His proof is found in only one location–His Holy Bible.

The Lord proclaimed through Prophets Joel (2:9) and Amos (2:12) that a time would come when spiritual starvation would be the norm for those seeking the Lord.  Those prophets proclaimed that just before the end of the world men would be running to and fro throughout the earth in search of God’s Truth.  However, His Truth will have been taken from the earth.  The devil will have starved religious man to death spiritually by having them reject God’s Word and stuffing themselves on his (Satan’s) sugary fare.  Satan’s holodomor will have done what he had designed it to do–eliminate (cancel) the Word of God.  Just as it had worked with the parishioners in the Church of Eden, it is working to near perfection in the latter day church of today.

But God has always maintained a remnant of people who clung to Him while the rest of the church world was pushing Him farther and farther away.  At one point that remnant consisted of only one person–righteous Able.  Upon his death he was replaced by righteous Noah.  Today God’s remnant remains tiny, numbering in the thousands globally.  These are they who study His Word, believe it and obey it.  Today Satan’s counter culture advocates continue his religious program designed to cancel God’s Truth.  Their success can be measured by my three-step system: step 1) get a phone book, step 2) look under CHURCHES, step 3) count.  Satan uses the whole of Catholicism/Protestantism in his relentless effort to replace the Lord’s holy Gospel with his perverted version (Gal. 1:6-9).  He has been 99.99% successful.  But God still has His remnant.  All of the Institutional Church’s efforts will not cancel out God’s church–the “gates of hell” (false religion) will fail in its attempt to erase every vestige of God’s Truth preached by the leaders of His church.

The effort put forth by Satan’s church is considerable.  At any time day or night one can hear on the radio and watch on television someone preaching what is proclaimed to be “the Word of God.”  The problem is that the god whose “truth” is being preached is “the god of this world”–Satan (2 Cor. 4:4).  His Catholic/Protestant cancel culture is doing its best to starve out the few seekers of Truth that are left on earth.  By steering his parishioners away from “the whole counsel of God” and to the words of his ministers, the devil has been tremendously successful.

In military terms, a “false flag” effort consists of someone operating under the flag of one country while serving another.  Socially, such people are called “moles.”  Legally they are called “traitors.”  Today’s spiritual moles/traitors are those operating under the “flag” of Christianity while working against the One the flag represents.  Satan has convinced the whole of professing Christendom to reject God’s Word in favor of his word.  The organizational sponsor of the devil’s spiritual holodomor is presented world-wide as the church of the Biblical God.  Ironically, while dining on Satan’s fare, her seekers are spiritually starving to death.  L.J.
