The word “holodomor” refers to a deliberate attempt to literally starve to death those who are out of favor with those in power.  The word came to be known internationally during Russian dictator Joseph Stalin’s attack on the people of Ukraine that took place in 1932 and 1933.  Because the people of Ukraine resisted the Soviet government’s terrible, destructive policies, Ukrainians were systematically and methodically denied food for those years. Not only were they not allowed to eat their own home-grown food, which the government confiscated, they could not receive help from the outside world.  This punishment was inflicted on the Ukrainian people by the Soviet government and there was no way for them to stop it.  The result was a totally devastating holodomor that resulted in the starvation deaths of approximately seven million Ukrainians.

Today there is a holodomor taking place in Ethiopia in which the national government is attempting to eliminate the people of an area of the country known as Tigray.  The United Nations has expressed concern over the situation and has attempted to send food into the region, only to be prevented from doing so by the Ethiopian government.  The holodomor is having its desired effects–death by starvation of the undesirables.  This one includes rape, beatings, torture, etc. according to the news stories.

The people of North Korea who resist the government’s horrific policies have been on the verge of starvation for many years because the government confiscates most of what they produce in order to elevate its military arsenal up to international standards.  As a result, several of the world’s humanitarian organizations have, over the years, sent food to the starving Koreans, only to have it confiscated by the government.  As a result, millions of North Koreans are starving and are being forced to live in unbelievable conditions.  Numerous prisons house hundreds of thousands of people who disagree with governmental policies.  Many have lost their lives trying to escape to South Korea.  Those who make it to freedom tell incredible stories of suffering at the hands of the government, starvation and imprisonment being two of the regime’s primary weapons of repression.

The elimination of the opposition is a popular method of solidifying the power base of those in authority.  It also assures that they will remain in control.  The political holodomor method of control works only in those nations living under dictatorial regimes.

Political and social controlling methods are popular among liberal politicians and self-governance groups such as Antifa, Black Lives Matter and other anti-law organizations who reject being governed.  During the recent inner city riots that filled the t.v. screens night after night I saw a group of people carrying a sign that extended across two traffic lanes.  The sign’s two-foot-tall message stated what perfectly states the mind-set of the lawless left.  The sign said:0 “WE WILL NOT BE GOVERNED.”   Those within such groups claim the right to shout down or knock down anyone who disagrees with their ideology.  I call this a social/political holodomor.  Though it is not normally deadly in its effects, this type of holodomor is quite effective in democrat-run cities where it is publicly known as “cancelling.”

Cancelling is the process by which those in the majority cancel out the voices of those expressing opposing viewpoints.  Their numbers have multiplied until they currently make up a significant segment of the American population, particularly within larger cities.  With liberal politicians and the media running interference for them, cancellers are able to cancel the expression of any opinion that challenges their own.  All opposing views are cancelled, shut out and eliminated.  This ideology has also permeated higher education to the extent that speakers and professors who do not toe the majority’s line are persecuted severely.  One conservative teacher at a state university had to have a bodyguard with her while on campus.

The holodomors mentioned above are not the only examples of “cancel culture” taking place throughout the world.  One such example has been in operation since the Garden of Eden.  I am referring to the spiritual homodomor that Satan, through his numerically superior church system, has been waging against God and His people since the days of Noah.

Satan’s spiritual cancel culture began in the Church of Eden (my term) which had two parishioners and one Pastor–God.  Because Adam and Eve were given the power of choice, the Serpent (Satan) took the opportunity to cancel out the Words of the Lord in the minds of those in the church.  He convinced them that what their Creator had told them was not worthy of consideration and therefore should never be heard or considered again.  The immediate result of the Eden Truth-cancellation program is recorded in the third chapter of Genesis where God’s dealing with Adam and Eve has been recorded.

Later we are shown how effective the devil’s cancelling of God’s Word had been over the years since the shut down of the Garden of Eden.  Though Noah, “a preacher of righteousness” (2 Pet. 2:5), had for many years preached God’s Truth to the people, his voice was effectively “cancelled” (rejected and ignored).  In Genesis 6:5,11,12 we learn the results of the cancellation of God’s Words: “And God saw that the wickedness of man was great throughout the earth, and that every thought of his heart was continually on evil.”  By cancelling Noah’s message of obedience to God, man had taken the power of self-determination to himself.  As a result, man had filled the earth with corruption and violence.  “And God looked upon the earth and saw that it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted its way upon the earth.”  The people of earth found the words of Noah to be meaningless and in need of elimination.  In effect, they “cancelled” the Lord’s lone holy man, the only voice of Truth on earth.  God had said to Noah: “… YOU (Noah alone) I have found to be righteous before Me among all the people.”  So the Lord “countered the counter culturers” by drowning them.  Only Noah and his family remained alive, along with a boat load of non-human creatures.

Throughout the Old Testament we find the vast majority of people, including the Israelites, cancelling out the Word of God that was being preached by His prophets.  The prophets themselves were persecuted, some unto death.  Jeremiah was thrown into a dry well and left to die of starvation.  He was saved by an associate who stood up for him.  Tradition holds that Isaiah was sawn in two.  And who was it that rejected, despised and tried to cancelled God’s Word as spoken by these holy men of old?  Israelites–God’s chosen people.  These were the people who had a history with Him.  These were the recipients of His promised blessings.  And still they tried to cancel Him.  Nothing has changed, as the following posting will reveal.

By the time of Christ’s arrival on the scene the Jewish segment of the 12-tribed Israelite nation had also rejected the Words of their God.  These three tribes (Judah, Benjamin and Levi) are called the House of Judah Scripturally.  The world knows them as “Jews.”  Now, at the end of the age, the descendants of Jacob (Israel) comprise the whole House of Israel which is scattered throughout the earth and is totally ignorant as to who they are.  Read Who and Where is Israel Today?  Key word–Who.  Did the holodomor against God’s people end with the establishment of the New Testament Church in 31 A.D?  Sadly, no.  As we will see, professing Christianity’s attempt to silence God’s true saints has gradually increased in power and effort over the past 2000 years.  Will they eventually win?   L.J.
