From early on God’s ministers had to deal with those in the church who wanted to follow the Babylonian god Tammuz by observing his weekly sabbath–Sunday. We find John writing about this problem in 1 Jn. 4:2,3; 5:1-4,5,10-12. In 4:2,3 we find him saying that the spirit of Antichrist was prompting church people to deny that Jesus of Nazareth was the true Messiah Who had come in the flesh, the same One who had remained in the tomb three days and three nights. Instead they were looking to Tammuz who was supposedly born on December 25th, was killed and buried on Friday and resurrected on Sunday, who returned each year at Christmas to place gifts under a house-bound tree, etc. The worship of Tammuz that we find going on in John’s day, as well as in the Counterfeit Church today, has been around for a long time. In Ezekiel 8 we find the prophet, in spirit, viewing Israelites bowing toward the east (the rising sun) while their wives wept for him. As noted in an earlier posting, Tammuz–the son of the sun god who, following his death, became the sun god–was supposedly killed by a wild boar at age 40. For this reason his followers denied themselves a pleasure (Israelites wept) for 40 days prior to the day they honored his mother, called Ashtoreth in Scripture (1 Ki. 11:5:33/2 Ki. 23:13). She was also known as the “Queen of Heaven.” Today she is lauded within professing Christendom as Easter–the Goddess of Fertility whose celebration involves rabbits, chickens, eggs, etc. The 40 days of “weeping” is now called the Lenten Season or Lent. See the postings on Easter.
The word “confess(es)” is an oft-misunderstood word in that it is believed to refer only to spoken communication. It is assumed by many that anyone who can say that Jesus Christ is the Son of God come to earth in the flesh is saved. Not only will Satan himself “confess” Jesus’ Messiahship when it serves his purpose, but a parrot can be trained to do the same. Recall that the Serpent called Him “God” three times in Genesis 3:1,5. See The God of The Old Testament. For centuries preachers have assured their audiences that Jesus was God’s Christ come in the flesh, all the while leading them to worship and serve Tammuz by practicing his pagan rituals and following his pagan doctrines. This website is dedicated to exposing this false god and those who serve him–the Institutional Church–in the hope that a few might embrace the Lord and follow Him.
“Hypocrisy” refers to the act of speaking one way and acting another. Spiritual hypocrisy refers to stating that the Word of God is true, Spirit-inspired and irrefutable, then doing the opposite. Such is the case with the Sunday Sabbath. I heard a world-famous t.v. preacher say that the church “… MUST OBEY GOD’S LAW.” He was at that very moment in the midst of his weekly SUNDAY SABBATH meeting. It seems that he, along with other self-appointed ministers, are able to choose which of God’s commandments they want to obey. Obviously, no one in this famous pastor’s local or t.v. audience had ever challenged him relative to commandment #4 which states that God’s weekly sabbath is observed ONLY ON THE SEVENTH DAY, which we call Saturday. Or perhaps someone has shown him God’s Word but, like other ministers who have seen the light, perhaps he ignores it, choosing fame and fortune over obedience to God. Like sheep being led to the slaughter, his followers fail to “TRY THE SPIRIT” of the “angel of light’s” “minister of righteousness.” To the millions who listen to him, the fact that he has a world-wide pulpit with millions of followers is proof-positive that he is who he says he is–a God-appointed messenger of truth. In reality he, like thousands of other church leaders, is a false prophet who has “gone out into the world,” has embraced it and brought it into the church.
Heresy is not a new phenomena as we learn in Isaiah 30:9-12 where God laments: “This is a rebellious people, lying children … who hear not the Law of the Lord, who say to their seers (priests), ‘Do not prophesy to us right things; speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits. Get out of the (stop preaching about God’s) way, turn aside from the (God’s) path, cause the Holy one of Israel to cease from before us (stop telling us about Him).” We also find the church (Acts 7:38) rebelling against God in Jeremiah 5:31 where He warns: “The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule by their own power; and My people LOVE TO HAVE IT SO.” And why not? God’s Truth no longer holds sway in professing Christendom. Who needs to know more than John 3:16? After all, isn’t everyone “saved” and “born again” who has gone through one of the church’s prescribed rituals? Doesn’t everyone who points toward heaven, or kneels on the ground, or wears a cross or has one tatooed on a body part, or goes to church three times a week, or witnesses, or preaches, or builds churches, or serves on the mission field, etc. have a pre-paid, guaranteed ticket on the rapture rocket? The answer for those who believe God’s Word is NO. To be continued. L.J.
