In I Kings 3:5-15 and 9:2-9 we find the Lord speaking to Solomon in dreams in order to bring the young king back into the fold, with some temporary success. In 3:5 we find him choosing wisdom over fame and fortune. From 4:1 through 8:11 we see God rewarding him by making Israel the greatest nation on earth at that time. Israel would have remained the world’s leader to this day had she obeyed the Lord. The same is true of the United States had she not followed in her spiritual ancestor’s footsteps. As a result both will one day soon be nothing more than a distant memory. Israel was indeed the world’s number one spiritual, economic and military power when Solomon took over the leadership role. In 8:12-64 we read his heartfelt prayer of dedication and the huge personal sacrifices he made to the Lord. Things could not have been better for king and country.
Then a delicious bit of leaven arrived in Jerusalem from the East in the form of the Queen of Sheba who crossed the deserts see if what she had heard about the king and his kingdom was true. The visit of this very important foreign potentate, combined with his great wealth, softened Solomon’s resolve to obey the Lord Who had given him all that he had. As we are told in the Scriptures, the spirit is willing but the flesh is often weak. A more apt description of Solomon cannot be found. The king’s flesh was indeed weak.
In 11:1-8 we learn just how weak. Solomon, we are told, had many heathen wives (700) and concubines (300) whom Satan used to perfection. In short order Solomon “turned his heart from God” to serve the gods of his wives and concubines. In verse 8 we find him building places for the women to worship their gods. The leaven had leavened the loaf. Those harmless gods Solomon had allowed into the Kingdom of Israel soon brought the king and his kingdom to their spiritual knees where they bowed low before the devil’s false deities.
This is exactly what the United States, as well as all other self-described “Christian nations” have done. There are in fact dozens of heathen religions, including Catholicism and Protestantism, plying their religious trades and worshiping their various gods and goddesses in the U.S. and anywhere else a cross can be found. The influx of heathen believers, their gods and practices began early on with the admission of Sunday Sabbath believers into the new land. Then came the Catholics. Satan having gained a toe-hold in the New World, the heathen floodgates began to open ever wider until today this nation is inundated with paganism in a variety of forms. And just as God warned, the spiritual leaven has leavened first the church loaf, then the national loaf. AS GOES THE CHURCH, SO GOES THE NATION. With the church in Satan’s possession, what was once deemed evil soon become good, just as the Lord prophesied. As a homosexual protestant priest replied when reminded of God’s condemnation of his perversion, “God has changed.” To which millions of so-called Christians reply “Amen” while castigating those minutely few who still believe Him. Indeed, good (God’s Word) has become evil and evil (church doctrine) has become good (Isa. 5:20). Recall that God decrees a woe on those who so desecrate His Word. That woe and several others are on the way as once again the Biblical God Whom the church accuses of lying has proven to be as Truthful as His Son says he is (Jn. 17:17). L.J.
