The Counterfeit Church did not suddenly change from a God-centered to a man-centered entity over night.  The process began early on and picked up speed over time.  Following the creation of the Catholic Church the slide into apostasy quickly accelerated.  Her birthing of the Protestant movement increased both the speed of change and the options available to those determined to divorce themselves from God.

Early on, those escaping the church-state situation in England having arrived on American shores soon found that the slouching tendency they were trying to escape had raised its evil head in the New World as liberalism began to work its way into its spiritual fabric.  The church’s fall, like Adam and Eve’s, began innocently enough.  Just a slight deviation from God’s Word would do no harm, the liberals suggested.  Those fighting the good fight of faith held on as long as they could.  For example, until the late 1600’s it was against the law to celebrate Christmas.  Then the voice of  Satan began to win out.  Following a year of strict adherence to their demanding God the people needed a season of revelry and self-direction, the majority maintained.  And so not only was the law against Christmas rescinded, but the “Yule Tide Season” was extended into a week of debauchery and license.  This rejection of God’s specific command opened the door to a headlong rush into heathenism that persists unto today.

The modern Institutional Church, obsessed with the concept of “love” and “inclusion” (two of Satan’s favorite tools), is not merely allowing into her midst those openly committing acts condemned by God (homosexuality, adultery, occultism, etc.) but is actively courting such to join her, often using t.v. advertising and outdoor signs to lure the reprobates through their doors under the guise of saving them.  However, once inside, the leaven invariably leavens the loaf.  What had previously been sin soon becomes an “alternate lifestyle” as the loving, including church sees the light.  A loving God understands and accepts them as they are.  “Come as you are; stay as you are” becomes the church’s mantra.   The above is a simplistic rendition of how the church slowly slouched into Satan’s world of heathenistic apostasy.  L.J.
