Sin–Man’s Self-inflicted Wound (Pt. 1)

Throughout the Holy Bible the Lord tells us repeatedly that obedience to His Word (righteousness) will result in blessings while disobedience to His Word (sin) will result in curses. Both blessings and curses come from God either directly or indirectly. Nothing happens unless He does it or allows it to be done. In this way He is omnipotent (all powerful), omniscient (all knowing) and omnipresent (is everywhere). In Deuteronomy 28 He promises to bless those who love Him enough to obey Him. Then He warns of the curses He will pour out on those who reject His Words. He reiterates this message in Leviticus 26. Among the curses He will inflict are physical, mental, emotional, economic and social problems. Being ignorant of God’s Word, and knowing only what they hear in church, parishioners routinely blame Satan for their misfortunes. Others give God credit for their misfortunes but do not understand why He brought it upon them. See Would God Do That?

In this series we will focus on curses within the mental and emotional realm because, as I pointed out in the series titled Human Nature, of the various aspects of man’s life, the mind (Biblical=”heart”) plays the most powerful part in man’s earthly life (Biblical=”walk”). As the Lord tells us in James 1:14,15, sin is the result of either internal or external temptation. Unless cut off at that point, temptation arouses lust that lies dormant within every human being, just as it does within angels.  All, including the most righteous, are subject to temptation which, unless cut off immediately, arouses lust. Unless lust is put down immediately it conceives (entertains the temptation) and conceives. The conception produces sin which, as God warns, results in any number of physical, mental, emotional, economic and social problems, any and all of which begin in the heart/mind. Note that James is writing this warning to his “beloved (spiritual) brethren.” Saints in the Body of Christ are, like their unchurched counterparts, subject to the same temptations. And unless those temptations are blocked–not allowed to progress to conception–they will give birth to sin. The wages for both the churched and the unchurched is the same–death. Repeated sins followed by repeated repentance, as professed by “sinners saved by grace,” proves that one has not been converted, does not have the Holy Spirit and is therefore not a child of God.

What is rejected outright by the majority of religious people is the Biblically proven fact that righteousness and sin, and consequently blessings and cursings, are not forced upon us. As I proved in Human Nature, one’s Biblical “walk” (1 Jn. 2:6) is not dictated by a sin gene passed on from generation to generatgion–MAN DID NOT INHERIT SIN FROM ADAM. The church-generated “truth” that Adam’s sin dna is automatically infused into the human zygote following conception is a Satanic lie that has been spread globally by his false prophets. Incredibly, only a few true Truth seekers have bothered to study God’s Word in order to determine what He says about the matter (Mat. 7:13,14). The reason for this lie is that those in the Counterfeit Church do not have God’s Holy Spirit–have not been converted–and are therefore easy pickings for the devil. They sin when he tells them to due to Adam’s sin infusion into their spiritual dna. Therefore, “The devil made me do it” explains (and justifies) their sin-saturated walk. However, this excuse does not stand up to the Scriptural standard as presented by the Lord in His Book of Truth (Jn. 17:17) as the Biblical account concerning Cain proves to Truth seekers.

Upon reaching the age of accountability sin and righteousness become a matter of personal choice. As God told Cain in Genesis 4:1-7, “Satan waits for you to sin again, but YOU CAN RULE OVER HIM.” If Cain, who did not have the Holy Spirit, can resist Satan’s “fiery darts” (temptations), those who belong to God, who have the Holy Spirit, certainly can. All true sons of God have the Holy Spirit to lead and empower them. “Sinners saved by grace” are not led by the Spirit and are not sons of God. Proof of this is found in Romans 8:14: “They that are led by the Spirit of God, (only) they are the sons of God.” The Holy Spirit does not lead church sinners to sin. Satan does. Those who obey him–continue to sin–are his children. “Come, let us reason together” says the Lord. L.J.
