This is yet another reason why God’s wrath will fall first on the Institutional Church when He destroys, defeats and enslaves the United States.
Though not a big t.v. watcher, I recently found myself once again gazing into the tube in the wee hours of the morning waiting for the Lord to speak to me through one or more false prophets, men and women whose messages I rejected many years ago. At that time of the morning two of the channels I get offer religious programming. Note that I call their presentations “religious,” not “spiritual.” There is a great gulf separating the two entities. “Spiritual” refers to God’s Word; “religious” refers to church doctrine. As I brought out in The Church, the Gospel and the Goats, there are two categories of church people: Religious–goats, tares, bad fish, foolish virgins, etc., and “spiritual”–sheep, wheat, good fish, wise virgins, etc. Having been awakened by the Lord and drawn into the living room some time between two and four a.m., I sat down prepared for a dose or two of heathen teaching. I was not disappointed.
On this occasion I found myself watching a popular preacher who was speaking about people who, though living openly in worldly sin and appearing to be “lost,” might, in his view, not be lost at all. In fact, they might actually be “saved.” As had been the case on other occasions when I realized why the Lord had me watching such religious nonsense, my spiritual antenna immediately activated. Though I am rarely shocked by what I hear preachers say, this one’s statement got my attention. Did he say what I thought he said? Did he say that a true Christian–a saint of God–might deliberately hide his relationship with God behind a life of sin? Further listening answered the question–Yes, that was exactly what he was saying. There is only one reason for not wanting people to know that one is supposedly a true believer: FEAR–fear of being rejected by family, friends, etc. for believing and obeying the Biblical God. This gentleman is obviously unaware that this is the same God who minces no Words when speaking of such spiritual cowards, Who proclaims that the fearful will die. To show how He views such “Secret Christians,” note that He places them in the same category as “… the abominable, and murderers, and whore mongers, and sorcerers and all liars ….” All, God says, will have their place in the Lake of Fire (Rev. 21:8).
According to this minister, a Secret Christian can use sin to mask sainthood. Even though God openly condemns those who will not openly profess Him and who refuse to walk as Jesus walked (1 Jn 2:3-6), the inference was that one can be guilty of numerous repeated sins and get away with it. My question was, how can one live in sin and be a child of God? The man had the answer. With a straight, unblushed face he looked into the camera and proclaimed: “We do not know what is in a person’s mind.” Again, I was stunned, though I should not have been considering the religious abyss in which Catholicism/Protestantism now flounders. Though I have grown accustomed to hearing preachers and laity put forth Satan’s narrative as Bible Truth, this bit of theology is pushing the religious envelope to the nth degree. To be continued.
