Romans 1 alone will convince any Truth-seeker that homosexuality is an abomination to God, and that those who practice it will face the full force of His wrath at judgment. The problem is that generally speaking, church people refuse to seek God’s Truth when challenged on an issue. Instead they will go to any extreme to confirm their beliefs, even to calling God a liar–a common occurrence within religious circles. Being shown what God says about an issue brings immediate rejection of His Word, its Author and the one who reveals it. I have had church people adamantly, even hatefully reject the Scriptures I have shown them concerning a religious doctrine. Instead of honestly examining the passages, they choose to consult church officials. In every case I am aware of, the official overruled God. In such situations Satan always provides exactly what the guilty party needs by twisting or eliminating the Words that condemn him/her. Both go away happy: the churchite has the  “proof” he/she seeks; the devil keeps his parishioner.

That more and more God-defined sins are gaining acceptance within professing Christendom comes as no surprise to true believers. Peter warnes us about false teachers in leadership positions within the church who will “… bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord Who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction. And many (parishioners) will follow their destructive ways.” In the words of the apostle, the church commits heresy by denying the Truth of God (2 Pet. 2:1,2). Now let us examine other Scriptures that reveal God’s condemnation of homosexuality. Earnest Truth-seekers will study the Scriptures, believe them and react accordingly. The other 99.9% will not.

Deuteronomy 23:17–“There shall be no temple harlot (qedesh-female temple whore) of the daughters of Israel, or a perverted one (qadesh-male temple whore) of the sons of Israel.” The prophet goes on to equate the wages earned by such people to the price of a dog. Among the Israelites, only swine were considered lower than dogs in the animal kingdom. In a vain attempt to justify their perversion, homosexuals often use this passage, maintaining that gay sex is sin only when it is performed in a religious setting. No true Bible student accepts this nonsense. In Revelation 22:15 the Lord compares the saints who will be with Him in New Jerusalem to those outside, saying of the latter, “But outside are dogs and sorcerers and the SEXUALLY IMMORAL and murderers and idolators.” Notice that God places the SEXUALLY IMMORAL in the same category as DOGS, MURDERERS, SORCERERS AND IDOLATERS. In Jude 7 the apostle reminded the church about the men of Sodom and Gomorrah who had “given themselves over to SEXUAL IMMORALITY and have gone after STRANGE (MALE) FLESH.” As a result they had been “SET FORTH AS AN EXAMPLE (TO THE CHURCH), SUFFERING THE VENGEANCE OF ETERNAL FIRE.” This warning to the New Covenant Church is being explained away as Satan’s doctrine of  Love, Inclusion and Tolerance replaces God’s plainly expressed Word. As the modern church follows in the path of her ancient predecessor (Israel), homosexual acts will eventually be performed during religious services. Think not? Remember the temple prostitutes who plied their trade as part of their religious rituals. Whether anciently or currently, leaven infects the whole loaf.

To fully understand the depth of God’s wrath toward homosexuals one need only read the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. Not only did the men die, but their wives and children also burned to death as He demonstrated His wrath (2 Pet. 2:6). Here the apostle describes God’s treatment of the cities filled with male homosexuals: “And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them (the people) with an overthrow, MAKING THEM EXAMPLES TO THOSE THAT AFTER(WARD) SHOULD LIVE UNGODLY” as had those Sodomites. Notice that God equates homosexuality with ungodliness–having the character of Satan. In Genesis 19:4-8 we learn of the utter depravity of the men of Sodom. Here we find males, both young and old, trying to force Lot to send out the “men” (angels) who were in his house “… so that we may know (have sex with) them.” Lot knew they wanted sex, so he offered them his two virgin daughters. They refused, preferring to have sex with men. No matter how desperately gays try to explain away these Scriptures, no honest Bible student can deny that the rampant homosexuality of Sodomites was the reason God destroyed them and their families, as well as their cities. In Jude 18 the apostle warned the church that there would be those in her midst who would mock the Word and Way of the Lord, who would follow their ungodly lusts as did the men of Sodom and Gomorrah. In Leviticus 18:22,23 we find God telling the males among His people: “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an ABOMINATION. Nor shall you mate with an animal … it is perversion.” In Deuteronomy 27:21 we are told that one who lies with an animal is cursed. In Leviticus 20:13 God warns: “If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an ABOMINATION. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood is upon them. These Scriptures prove that God views homosexual sex the same as sex with animals. Both are called “Sodomy”; both are abominations to Him. In First Timothy 1:8-10 we find the apostle saying that the Law is for (to bring to justice) unrighteous persons. He then lists many examples of sinners for whom the Law was created, among them “Sodomites”–those who commit the sins of Sodom–homosexuals (vs 10). To be continued. L.J.
