At an earlier time I wrote about a soon-coming,  one-world religious system that we are warned about in the Book of Revelation.  In chapters 13,16,19 and 20 we are introduced to a powerful religious figure referred to as the “second beast” in chapter 13 and as the “false prophet” in chapters 16,19 and 20.  In the vision [revelation/apocalypse] that Jesus Christ has opened up to the Apostle John the beast/prophet is revealed to be an all-powerful religious leader who has access to the power of the “first Beast”–a world-ruling political/military government that will lead the world into the Great Tribulation.  For more information on this subject read The Beast of Revelation 13 and the Institutional Church which is found two series back.  We are told that the first Beast had received its world-ruling power from the “Dragon,” who is referred to as the “Serpent” in the Garden of Eden.  The Dragon and the Serpent are symbols for Satan–“the god of this world” [1 Cor. 4:4], who is also described by the Apostle Paul as the  “prince of the power of the air” in Ephesians 2:3.  In Revelation 17:1-5 the church that will be led by the false prophet [religious leader) is depicted as a “whore” riding [controlling] the first Beast [government]–verses 1-3.  In verse 5 the woman is called “MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.”  In John’s vision both the Beast and the whore are depicted as world co-rulers.  In Revelation 13:3,4 we find the world living in fear of the first Beast which, having “died” after receiving a “deadly wound,” had miraculously come back to “life.”  In this passage we are told that, upon witnessing the “resurrection” of the fallen Beast, all the world wondered after the Beast.  “And they worshipped the Dragon (Satan) which had given the Beast its power, and they worshipped the Beast, saying, ‘Who is like unto the Beast? who is able to make war with him?'”  Because of their fear of the Beast and the miracle-working talent of the false prophet, the world’s people will worship and obey the Beast and the church that directs it.  Reminder: By this time God will have taken His people to “her place” of safety where He will protect and provide for her throughout the 2 1/2 year period of terror known as the Great Tribulation and the one-year-long Day of the Lord.

In the series titled The Ingathering: The Rise of the End-time Church I referred to the fact that, in the last days of this era, the Whore [Catholic] Church would entice all of her harlot [Protestant] daughters to return to her and to become one world-encircling church system under Catholic domination.  She had proclaimed that she “would not suffer the loss of children.”  In the previous series on this subject I also noted that religions which were not under the “Christian” umbrella were beginning to warm up to Catholicism.  For more information on the end-time church/religion read The Ingathering series.  Use “Ingathering” as the key term.

Since completing and publishing that series there has been an increase in the sending and receiving of religious overtures among some of the world’s various religious bodies, especially between the [Catholic] mother whore and her harlot [Protestant] children.  Not surprisingly to those who study the Holy Scriptures, other religions are beginning to acknowledge the legitimacy of the Catholic system and are showing a willingness to have direct contact with her.  At the time of the original postings there were those who had begun to have prayer meetings in which representatives of the world’s different religions were coming together to pray to their respective gods about common concerns.  Pope John Paul II had organized one such mass meeting.  Later he reported that “great spiritual energies” had been generated at the pan-religious enclave.  At the same time there were developing systems of “pulpit exchanges” in which not only were different denominations allowing leaders from other Christian “faiths” to preach to their congregations, but joint Christian-Muslim services were beginning to take place during which a representative from each religion would teach from his holy book and pray to his god.

I want to update the aforementioned information by citing a recent report which reveals the direction in which the religious world is headed.  In 2017 a multi-faith movement was created whose stated goal is to bring about “Interfaith Reconciliation.”  The purpose behind the reconciliation effort is to draw all religions together in order to create one religion.  To facilitate that idea the organization would build a center designed to bring together the offspring of Abraham whose descendants have founded three religions: Christianity, Judahism and Islam.  The founders of this modern movement believe that bringing the religions together in the same building will facilitate the uniting of the three religions that sprang from the patriarch.  The building, which is now being built on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, will be called the Abraham Reconciliation House which, when completed in 2022, will consist of three houses of worship: a church, a synagogue and a mosque.  The stated goal of the movement is to create a “ONE WORLD RELIGION.”

This is not a surprise to those who know and believe what is written in the Book of Revelation about one man having the authority to dictate to everyone on earth.  In order for the false prophet to force the world’s people to worship the Beast and its image and to bear its mark he would have to possess absolute power over them.  This would be difficult, if not impossible if there were more than one religion functioning at that time.  Therefore a one-world church/religion will be a necessity.  We are watching that church/religion form at this time.  This fulfillment of prophetic Scripture is one more sign that the end of the age is near.  L.J.
