In Isaiah 33:7 the ancient prophet, in describing the latter days of the age, noted that peace seekers would be very disappointed and would do whatever they could to make and maintain peace among those who claim to be God’s people.

Within the increasingly popular “same god” theology mentioned in the previous posting, two catch-words–“love” and “inclusion”–are repeatedly injected into the religious conversation. The idea is that if we love all people equally we must include them as equals when it comes to religion. Relative to religion, the mindset is: “I’m right, you’re right, we’re all right.” As a result, such things as pulpit exchanges, interfaith services and joint prayer meetings are becoming ever more popular. These right-sounding activities can function only if there is equality among all religions and all individuals involved in them. The underlying theme expressed during these meetings is that it does not matter which god we worship and obey as long as we worship and obey that god or gods according to his, her, its or their dictates. The important factor is not who we serve, but rather how we serve. Incredibly, this Satanic theology is spreading slowly but surely throughout the religious community of the United States and other “Christian” countries. The keys to “doing what God would have us do” is to 1) love everyone equally and 2) to value all religions equally. This is, we are told by love and inclusion proponents, what God commands us to do. That He commands His people to hold the exact opposite opinion is totally irrelevant. And woe unto the soul that points this out.

Let those of us who believe and obey what the Biblical God wrote, which is called “Truth” in John 17:17, stand our ground. Let us “Study to show your(our)self approved by God” (2 Tim. 2:15). Let us “Prove all things” (1 Thes. 5:21) relative to things of the spirit in that they are of life and death importance. Let us not forget that it was religious people who killed the Lord’s righteous saints of ancient times. Let us remember that they were killed because they refused to “go along to get along” with the religious crowd.

Those within the Jewish hierarchy killed some of the Old Testament Prophets and persecuted the others. It was the descendants of those murderers that killed Jesus and all of the New Testament Apostles except John, whom they confined on an island prison “for (preaching) the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ” (Rev. 1:9). Thousands of other saints were killed during the early stages of what became known as the “Inquisition” because they refused to bow to the dictates of the Catholic Church. During the hundreds of years that the Inquisition raged, millions were martyred, many of them burned alive, because they refused to disobey the Biblical God. One thing is certain, those who were martyred were not trying to get along with those who served another god. Spiritually speaking, those precious souls asked no quarter and received none. They died like animals because they lived like the Lord. “Compromise” was not in their vocabulary. Can we do any less when Satan’s servants come against us? We are to stand for the Biblical God in the face of those who insist that we follow them. We are not to try to make peace with Catholics, Protestants, Islamists, etc. To make spiritual peace with them is to become one with them. But as oil and water do not mix, neither do God and Satan (2 Cor. 6:14-18). As we will see in later postings, this Biblical Truth includes one’s family and friends. See Persecution. L.J.
