Sanctification–God’s Command For Spiritual Segregation (Pt. 5)

“Familiarity breeds contempt” is an expression heard in the social arena which is often found to be true. The more one knows about another person the less one likes the other person. In the spiritual realm the opposite has proven to be true. Both Biblical and secular history reveal that the more one knows about another religion, the more one becomes familiar with the more likely one is to accept the other religion. In most cases the once-rejected religion is eventually embraced by the people of the society. This practice has resulted in the downfall of the world’s once-Christian nations. The social, economic and political chaos that is being caused today by the influx of Muslims into those nations proves that religions simply do not mix. One will always absorb the other. Jesus addressed this truth in Matthew 6:24 where He warned that neither an individual nor a nation can SERVE TWO MASTERS. One will always convert the other. And the winner is always Satan. This truth was first established in the Garden of Eden and has remained in effect ever since.

When the children of Israel came out of Egypt they brought the worship of bull calves with them. Even though the God of Abraham had performed many miracles in bringing them to Mt. Sinai where He met with them, spoke to them audibly, etc., their true allegiance was soon revealed when they demanded to return to Egypt. At that point Aaron the priest fashioned a bull calf out of gold, pointed to it and announced that the calf was their true god, and that it would lead them back to Egypt. Obviously the Israelites’ experience with the Egyptian calf god had caused them to accept it as their true god (Exo. 32), even though it had forced them into slavery and had made their lives miserable. In His wrath the Lord killed off all Israelites over the age of 20 except Joshua and Caleb. The 20 and younger generation would be allowed to enter the Holy Land some 40 years later following the deaths of their ancestors in the Desert of Sin.

In Exodus 23:27-33 we find the Lord making it perfectly clear that, when they entered the Promised Land, the Israelites were not to allow the heathen tribes who inhabited the land–Canaanites, Hivites and Hittites–to remain. In verses 32,33 He told them that they were to have nothing to do with the heathen nor with their gods. They were not to allow them to dwell in the land “lest they entice you to sin against Me. For if you SERVE THEIR GODS, it will be a snare unto you.” The Matthew 6:24 warning was made by the same God (Jesus) to the same people (Israel). Proof that Israel failed to obey God has found physical expression in the fact that many Israelites have large noses. This is a genealogical trait they absorbed from intermarrying with the Hittites who were identified by their large noses. Eventually Israel became mongrelized by intermarrying with the Canaanites, Hivites and Hittites. The Old Testament is rife with the outcome of this practice. Eventually God expelled them from the Promised Land and scattered them throughout the earth. See Who and Where Is Israel?

Today the Institutional Church’s sin of religion mixing comes to light by examining the history of her numerous heathen beliefs and practices that were brought in when the Catholic Church forced tens of thousands of heathen to become Catholic at the point of a sword. In order to placate them the church hierarchy embraced many of their theological beliefs and customs, the celebrations of the Sunday Sabbath, Christmas and Easter being three of the most cherished ones. So powerful was the church’s attachment to these customs that they retained when the so-called “Protestants” left the fold. Obviously the spiritual umbilical cord that connected the mother whore to her harlot daughters has never been cut. As a result, both Protestants and Catholics continue to live by the traditions of their heathen ancestors. L.J.
