How many times have we heard someone refer to “our animal ancestors” in reference to mankind’s past?  Then someone else might refer to the human condition as it is being displayed on a t.v. screen during a newscast.  Violence, hate, destruction and death have become evening fare in the United States of America.  What is going on?  What is considered “normal behavior” now would have gotten people in serious trouble in earlier generations.  What is today not only tolerated but expected was not tolerated in my early years.  People were taken down and out  and no questions were asked when such lunacy was displayed.  And it would have been the families of the rioters who would have stopped it.  People simply did not tolerate the woke idiocy that has become the norm in modern American.  What we see happening in the streets of liberal (socialist/Marxist/communist)-led cities would have been stopped, not filmed, by those in the area.  I once saw a mother walk into a street demonstration, grab her teen-aged son and drag him away.  I can only imagine what happened when they arrived home.  But that was then.

Something has drastically changed America’s collective mind-set.  That “something” is a THEORY that explains why an ever-increasing percentage of our once-civilized society has reversed course.  And the world watches via IPhone as the crazies do what has become “natural.”  The “something” that has filled the minds of so many people with little if any regard for their fellow human beings is declared to be based on “scientific truth.”  This THEORY is commonly known as EVOLUTION or DARWINISM.  Notice what God calls all such “truth”–“SCIENCE FALSELY SO-CALLED” (1 Tim. 6:20).  Acceptance of the theory has caused once civilized people to view the world in a whole new way.  Simply put, we are all animals whose lives are pretty much meaningless.  As animals we are expected to act like animals.

In 1859 Charles Darwin published his now-famous theory of evolution which he titled Origin of the Species.  According to Darwin and those who would embrace his theory, the species that is the subject of his world-changing book refers to those supposedly evolved creatures known as “human beings.”  These humans, according to Darwin, did not begin their existence in the physical and mental condition that they would later assume.  Rather, humans are the end result of an evolutionary process by which a one-celled amoeba eventually evolved into other types of creatures and, over millions of years, became what are known today as “human”–an animal in different skin.  The theory is that, though we are different outwardly, inwardly man is nothing more than a glorified animal.  Therefore, we are free to act like animals and treat others as fellow animals.

The process that changed a single-celled amoeba to a slug which evolved into an animal and later into a human being involved not only physical changes, but also mental changes.  According to evolutionists, the one-time animal that could not stack one stone on top of another later built a space ship that took it (later changed to “him”) to the moon.  Incredibly, many who call themselves “Christians” agree with Darwin.  Today, more of earth’s human inhabitants believe in evolution than believe in the Biblical account of man’s creation.  Question: would God send His fellow God (the Word–Jn. 1:1-4,14) to earth to suffer and die for animals? even evolved animals?  Let us examine the Lord’s recorded account of creation week.  Let us allow Him to answer the question.

But first, I will explain the difference between the creation of the earth and the re-creation of the earth.  In short, the earth God created initially was rendered tohu and bohu (waste and empty) during the war between God and Lucifer, who became Satan (Isa. 14:12-17/Zech. 14:3/).  The creation account of Genesis 1 refers to a time after the war when God and the Word, Who would come to earth as Jesus of Nazareth, recreated the surface of the earth and the rest of the universe that had been destroyed during the conflict.  How much time elapsed between the earth’s destruction and its re-creation is unknown.  The Genesis account of the creation describes God’s re-creation of the earth’s surface and the heavenly bodies.

In Genesis 1:20-25 we find God declaring that His re-created earth would bring forth moving creatures (creations) such as fish, birds, cattle and other types of beasts.  Each of those creations would reproduce “AFTER THEIR (OWN) KIND” without variation and without the mixing of “kinds,” species, etc.  Each kind would mate only with its own kind and produce only its own kind.  That was God’s command which the entire animal, fish, bird, etc. world would obey because they knew no other way.  “And God made the beast of the earth AFTER ITS KIND, and cattle after AFTER THEIR KIND, and everything that moved upon the earth AFTER THEIR KIND.  And God saw that IT WAS GOOD” (Gen. 1:25).  The creatures He had created and the method by which each would procreate only “AFTER THEIR (OWN) KIND” was, in His Words: “GOOD.”  In God’s mind, what He had created and the procreation system He had commanded could not be improved upon.

But the creation process was not complete.  The Almighty needed a superior creation like Himself to oversee His re-recreated earth and the creatures He had placed on it.  This physically and mentally superior being and his offspring would be created in “OUR” (Elohim–“Gods”) physical likeness and in “OUR” spiritual image, which meant that they (mankind), having been created in Their physical likeness by fiat, would be CAPABLE of becoming like Them (Elohim) spiritually.  The Apostle Paul would later write about this capability, noting that man not only CAN be like Them spiritually, but that we MUST continue to grow in righteousness and holiness until we come to the “measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (Eph. 4:13).  Impossible?  Then why did Paul write in Romans 8:29 that God predestined His saints to be conformed to the “(spiritual) image of His Son, so that He (His Son) would be the FIRSTborn among MANY (spiritual) BRETHREN” who would be spiritually created AFTER THE CHRIST KIND.  Christ’s “brethren” would DEVELOP His spiritual character (righteousness and holiness) through obedience to Him, thereby proving their love for Him (Jn. 14:15,23) and thereby remaining in His love (Jn. 15:10).  The END RESULT OF SUCH EXPRESSIONS OF LOVE WOULD BE ETERNAL LIFE (Rom. 5:21; 6:22).  Can animals become righteous and holy?  In thousands of years of animal evolution, has an animal ever developed Christ’s character?  No, because God did not give animals the capacity to do so.   Can humans develop such character?  Yes, because God has given them not only the capacity to do so, but also the command to do so.  Have you come to love the Lord’s “fine print yet?”  GOD’S FINER TRUTHS ARE IN HIS “FINE PRINT.”   Let us abide there.  L.J.
